many jaded libertarians may ask, “who even needs to make the case against socialism at this point? it’s violence and theft.” greatly understate the work of hoppe. i’ve heard many lectures against socialism but this might be the best and consistent with austrian economics / libertarian theory.

If you like slavery, you'll love socialism. If you like abuse you'll love democracy. If you like freedom you'll love self rule and self representation.

Don't blame capitalism when your parents failed to prepare you to thrive in it and bless others by it.

Of course, any professed libertarian defending crony capitalism is libertarian in name only.

No need to worship capitalism though. I consider it the same as open market society. Freedom.

Hi guys, Just learning about Mises, a bit of a late comer at 40 years old! Ordered a book called "Socialism" from Amazon which bears his name so looking forward to that coming.
Quick question - Heard an argument, or statement really, saying that capitalism and anarchism are not compatible ideologies, I guess this is because mainstream teaching puts Anarchism on the hard left, to me, and through my recent research, it seems more likely that these two ideas are in fact natural bedfellows. Just wondered if there were any other books on the subject, or you own thoughts would be great?

Hoppe wrote A theory of socialism and capitalism which talks about capitalism being anti-government and socialism being pro-government and Rothbard wrote a essay about libertarians being anarchists. The article will give you a quicker answer though.
      here is the book mises.org/library/theory-socialism-and-capitalism-0
      here is the article mises.org/library/are-libertarians-anarchists
also from my experience, when you start asking for book recommendations you tend to get a lot of books on your want to read list

Man, economy and state of murray rothbard for sure. Talks about everything! It supposed to be a review of mises Human Action but became a new treatise in economics, it is better to understand and corrects some of mises mistakes.

Anarchism simply means a stateless society. The existence of both private and collective property are compatible with such a society.

Read the Anatomy of the State by Murray Rothbard. Enough said. You can also listen to the audiobook for free on the Liberty in our Lifetime TH-cam channel.
