SO, antlers have velvet (that's the technical term for the fuzz) on them as a way to supply blood to the growing tissues! They are the fastest growing bones on the planet (horns are made of keratin, antlers are bone) and take a lot of nutrients to grow. The velvet falls off eventually just in time for the rut where males compete for mating rights with the females. The males are so worn out by the rut however that they shed their antlers just before winter, but after the rut, so they can survive after having neglected their needs for food, water, and sleep. Female reindeer keep their antlers through winter to protect their young and fend off predators and only after having the safety of a herd and babies that can run will they shed their antlers. Antlers ARE actually bone and not made of Keratin like hair and nails. They do however have a fuzzy velvet coating, and they have many blood vessels running along the surface of the bone. When they shed it can be quit a gruesome scene. The bloody, exposed bone with ropes of flesh and fur dangling is a pretty gory sight if you’re lucky enough to see it.
I have been watching ur channel for a long time and u have created some AMAZING sets but I seriously think this is my fav... idk it's hard to choose but this is so cool and beautiful 😍!!! U should try this technique with skulls and smoke, I think that'd be awesome and this look would be perfect for that. Or even like a spooky graveyard scene!?!
Hey, sorry for the dumb question, but if you matte top coat over sparkles, will you still get the sparkle from the sparkle, if that makes any sense at all, or will it just go dull ?
It won't be as sparkly after matte. Just depends on what kind of sparkle you're talking about, honestly. But most of them (glitter, foil, mylar, etc) will still have a shine under the matte. It's best to try your intended design out on a practice tip first so you know.
I love love love this design but I just feel the matte top coat takes the wow away from the design, it always reminds me of how your toe nails look after you've been in the sea and the polish has been worn away by the sand!
