corrosion of conformity is underaprietied band..I say Sadly...and there contribution to "Rock n roll "won't be appreciated till there ded....but not really ded.....cause "We rock forever""Can I get a Hello yah keep rocking "C O.C"
Jeremy Wark Pepper was never really replaced, he was an addition to the original 3 piece. They are back in the studio now, with Pepper and John Custer producing. One of best things when I was living in NC, getting to see all the versions of COC
C O C is one of my favorite bands. This not a negative comment. However My band PIGS is THE most under rated. We opened for them in Berkeley 91 or 92 and honestly smoked them. Not a negative comment like I said I love their shit to this day one of my faves.
Thats a good thing. If they were popular they'd turn to garbage, happens every time. My favorite bands are all highly talented and make amazing music but have never gone "pop" or mainstream. Clutch, COC, Crowbar to name a few. I've learned to keep them a secret, it's better that way.
+phantosmh Underground metal is the best. Bands like COC, Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, Pentagram, Trouble, Cathedral are in my Top 6. Mainstream metal bands are ridicolous and act like bitches with their stupid feuds with other musicians. The underground scene keeps the true spirit of rock alive.
I met Tim Sult of Clutch at FEBO in Amsterdam after a show and we had a short talk. I made him exactly this kind of speech, being worry about the planetary success of Earth Rocker... He approved and he said they don't run that risk. And till now he's been right
This song displays the best of COC. Corrosion blew me away with their outstanding release In The Arms of God which is an outstanding hybrid blend of anger, groove metal killer rifts. Now no one can deny Phil Anselmo talent because Pantera was flat out amazing but the way I see it none of Down’s albums can touch any of the COC albums with Pepper.
This is a concept album about how violent, ignorant men come to be. A wise and dangerous piece of art. "Poetry should have the quality of singing." -- Ezra Pound.
"The Drummer" is Stanton Moore from the legendary New Orleans funk/jam/soul band Galactic. He was filling in temporarily for the album and part of the tour cause Pepper wanted some funky crazy old skool drums. And I'm not sure but this may have come out before the Devildriver video, but I could be (and prolly am) wrong. Either way, COC rules and Stanton deserves major respect for his performance on this album.
Woody's solo at the beginning is just too damn good.. I have to go back and replay that part several times before getting on with the rest of the song.
Listening to this song stoned with a blacklight, beer and psychedelic posters everywhere. I wound up writing two songs and started a novel. Fuck these guys are awesome.
Stanton Moore killed it on this one .You'd think the sabbath camp would have noticed this .He's got the swing like a young bill ward .Not just a plodder like Tommy Clufetos. Thats what the Sabbath reunion lacked .
Holy it's been 5 weeks since i first listened to COC (see comment on page 2 =P) And i still can't get enough of them, got all their albums (even with pepper not as sing) They're all good imo, Just awesome
No disrespect to Reed but when they had this guy, Stanton Moore, playing with Mike, it was one serious rhythm section. It was like Geezer and Ward. C.O.C. was never better than on "In the Arms of God"
I listened to this song the first time I smoked hash with this video projected on the wall in my friends basement. And not a single thing was accomplished that day.
He's Stanton Moore mate. He could go into any band and blow the original drummer away on nearly every occasion. No need to have a crack at Lars really. Lars never said he was a good drummer anyway. So bagging him is pathetic
@@vannjunkin8041 i know! Im stoked about that! Stanton is one of my favourite drummers. I love Reed and miss his groove but Stanton is a beast and his feel is impeccable Great news man 🤘🤘
Well I was into CoC in the mid 80s, when I was starting high school. This era of CoC is way different but way cool. Too bad I am just now getting exposed to it. Better late than never. BTW the new CoC self-titled album is the best album of the year hands down.
is it just me, or can this song NEVER get loud enough?
Massive sound , massive style , massive riffs.......just fuckin'
MASSIVE
I love Reed Mullin , but that Stanton Moore was the perfect drummer for this massive album
And the visuals of the video, psychedelic trails of fiery auras, double time cut in half, passion and conviction. Sabbath meets Skynrd.
@@charlesrowland127 he sure as shit was.. I love Reed too.. we can bring him back now.. that fucker cut loose on the drums
@@wolfgangvonbushgangster5458 Sabbath meets Skynyrd is the best description of CoC I've ever heard...
It's a joke this album got so overlooked. Kicks ass start to finish! Classic!
I wonder what album this is. Corrosion just rocks!
That song is from the album In the Arms of God.
they are respected by the metal community
Saw CoC last night. They fucking killed it. Tight as fuck, loud as hell and played so many classics.
Pepper Keenan is the, "Mad Scientist" of the "Southern Stoner Metal Riff"

Just fucking salute man! They tried to replace ..was terrible guys a monster !
Victor Of The Cross
saw em in B'ham,Al in '01 or '02 on "Americas Volume Dealer" tour, best show ever

salute man! Good to hear some good feedback
Stanton Moore just NAILED it!
BEST MUSICAL INTRO EVER
This is PURE BLUES MAN. Glad I grew up with this band.
I think my guys just keep playing what the hell they want...and it hits some of us so perfect! 🥰
COC---one of the most under rated bands out there....And yet one of the best......Love COC.......

Clutch, COC, Crowbar ... You named just my top three in the exact order, bro. And your argument runs perfectly

Such perfection. God...I wish people made music like this. I'm a 90s baby, and this is 🖤

He is going to be on the next coc record. Pepper said it last november

GOD is everywhere.... COC.
THIS IS THE SOUND AND THE BAND I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR FOR YEARS........
Quick call your cousin Marvin.

Almost 30 years. Pepper joined the band in 1991 as a guitar player and moved up to lead singer in 1993/94.
ghostwhiskey how did he do guitar and vocals on vote with a bullet
The drummer is fucking incredible
Entered,Passed,Raised .

Gahhhht Daayum, i love this song so much it bends my soul. This whole album's a masterpiece
Mike's old SVT sounds amazing. Never thought a J-Bass could sound so thick & heavy.
Unbelievably creative, especially from such a established metal group.
Luv that COC

Fun fact: When asked how they wanted the drums to sound Pepper told Stanton "like Reed Mullin", true story

What is considered to be their best song
Best metal band you've never heard of.
Still listening in 2022
Going to see them tomorrow night…getting pumped
This song raises the hairs on my neck. As great a tune as Into The Void from Black Sabbath.
I don't understand why metallica made it so big, but an amaazing band like this didnt.
Amazing how it's not even his genre but this guy can come in and blow a so called metal drummer like Lars Ulrich away.
Yeah, kinda wish this version of the band continued.
He's got swing but HEAVY. His other band, Galactic; the drumming is no slouch either.
@quintessenceSL he's coming back Mr Moore is coming back
