I had a father at home who was neglecting too, the only thing he cared about is what he watched in the news which particularly ired hime that moment. He did not realize that a boy needs a father, so I looked for one. Its painful to think back. I dislike talking about my youth. And by the way I am white and from Europe, growing up in Europe. I did not get screened by anyone, but other kids got treatment for anything. Dr Umar is right. We live in a society where a father's presence in the youth of a boy is really necessary unless you want to turn him into a violent entity that does not hesitate to uses force to a criminal degree to stay alive and prosper at the expense of fellow human beings. Some people even think man should be strong refering to males being competitive and takes anything from someone weaker. Well go on. Guess what white people get drugged here too. White boys have shitty fathers too. What is so uniquely black about it? Where are the figures and how are they obtained? If you are a victim of father's neglect. Nothing he says will help you, you will always carry this burden. My advice: be conscious, that you emotional internal turmoil will always be with you. Seek counselling instead of drugs. A lot counsellors tell you that drugs are a means of temporary help. And this might be true when your psychological trauma render you insomniac or in a state of deep pain. There is no merit in enduring constant pain. There is no reward. Always listen to your heart, when you are in emotional pain, be ware that you cannot deal with stress as good as you would when you are healthy. Don't task yourself with too many obligations. Such a healing process takes time.
