He used pillow blocks for the live axle to stay in place, very east build.I have a 175cc. Atv with a reverse in it,it’ll do a healthy 65 mph and a lot faster with the gear just net that’s coming soon!
could this be made without the lift?we have an old electric golf cart i would like to convert so my handicapped mom can move around her farm.i have no interest in speed or off road capability.
Jesse d Yes it had reverse , it’s was a 125 cc 3 speed auto with reverse , I sold it and built my new cart v twin 670cc , there is a video of it on my page , still waiting on a diff belt before I put up a new video of that one
Did you hook up to the Stock DANA axle 1st??? Issues there? Looking at doing the same thing with a BAD BOY Buggy and only 2WD, and do not want the additional COST of a live axle??
Jim Jones - ya I started with stock with a gear Weldon on it - had so much torch it Broke the axle - so I went to 1 inch live axle on pillow blocks - I ended up putting a jack shaft with a 50/50 split - 15 to 15 to 15 to 34 - ran real good then and had more torch
hoytheld I got it off eBay - it is a drift cart axle - you can get the kit with the gear chain and I used pillow blocks for the bearings , also purchased on eBay
Si Hano - I sold the cart now - moved onto building a big block cart - but I used a triangle mount with 1/4 inch plate - and reinforced with 4 1 inch steel l beams
why did you use a live axle?
Is it bad to throw a chain?
Great job on the cart build. I need to see how you built the axle. How did you bolt on the live axle.
RicK Melkonian - pillow blocks

Was the solid axel a kit you bought or was it a series of parts you put together?
Any issues with chain tension or twisting when the suspension is working
It worked good after I installed a jack shaft ,, which gave it more power and less chain jumping
Did you have any over heating issues?
Also what size axle? Thanks!

What tooth sprocket did you use on the rear axle? Do you feel it has enough torque? Great video! I’m doing the same thing. Thanks! Love the horn!!
Bwcam87 - 36 tooth on rear - 15 on front- and 42 inch axle on pillow blocks

Si Hano , just a triangle plate on the bottom and 2 Pieces of angle iron to the back wall
