* One small other thing is that "Land proposal on the edge of Witchwood Forest" in the newspaper is a reference to Perky's Buds, that's where Emma makes the farm
And I think the "High Society Hangout Destroyed" headline is referencing Yellow Jacket; it looks like a picture of Charles in the corner and I remember the fight club being watched mostly by hoity-toity rich folks! Not sure how it got destroyed in this timeline though lol
Surprised no one has mentioned it on either video but when max gets dragged to drowsy town he exclaims "what are you!?" In reference to Oregon trail when the father sees "the watchers with a thousand eyes" a moniker that later got applied to blinky.
YES, THIS!!!! EVERYONE IS FOCUSING ON THE HATCHETFIELD CALLBACKS BUT NPMD REFERENCES BASICALLY EVERY STARKID SHOW AT LEAST ONCE AND NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT
I was rewatching Yellow Jacket and in the part with the multiple Webbies at the start there’s this part that goes vaguely like this: “What’s on your head, Webby?” “That’s my headgear, don’t bully me!” It’s technically a reference to NPMD in Nightmare Time and not the other way around but I think it’s possible it was intentional since NPMD was written before NMT
Oh uh also something along the lines of “You really think Steph likes me”? “No! I’m TALKING about RUTH!” And “It’s not like that, I like Steph, and I think she likes me too” “What’s Steph got to do with it? I’m TALKING about GIRL JERI!”
I guess the Boy Jerry & Girl Jerri was changed for some reason since during the show both Jon & Kim were on stage, thankfully they had GERALD. I guess they didn't want him since he can't step within 100 feet of a Cinnabon.
gerald, along with ziggy, barry, and charles, were actually JUST in the filmed version! the way the song goes on the soundtrack is how it was performed in all live productions :)
"Hot Chocolate Guy" waited so long for his drink that he changed from Robert Manion to Joey Richter! See what a lack of hot cocoa does to someone? (Just kidding... sorta!)
I think the scream more lines up with her feral scream as Linda in Black Friday when she displays super-human strength trying to get the wiggly doll. but yes!
ooo also! from black friday, when tom sings "what my son wants my son will get" parallels the summoning song when the lords in black sing "whatever we want we get" :)
Another connection: more cosmically related characters having a distaste for phones. First McNamara with Paul, then Hannah with Paul again, and now the LOB with Steph
idk if you referenced it yet or not, but in axe man, they sing “watching nerds run for their lives”, which is pretty similar to how it is sung in “nerdy prudes must die” by max !
@@Its_hatchetfield i think i found something you haven't mentioned if you are still making more parts! the notes at the beginning of "literal monster" can be heard in wiggle from black friday!
Peter mentions a Brad, who pulled down his pants, it's the same guy who throws a paper ball of saliva at Hanna in a yellow jacket, and he's played by Joey too.
commenting it on this video aswell, theres one callback u missed where steph says 'i didnt know you were funny', bill says it to alice it in watcher world too after she makes a pun :D
I want to add that I want to add that the “fuck ‘‘em straight to hell” line foreshadows the fact that grace will literally fuck max straight to hell.
Oh my god 😂
I’m so late but GIGGLING AT THIS COMMENT
I’m just here to say Boy Jerry and Girl Jeri are underrated characters and nothing else…
They are! Jon and Kim play them so well
another callback:
both in black friday and steph in npmd ask “what the fuck am i watching?!”

I love how when Pete says “yea… I don’t want to though” Richie is playing with the tassels on the coat and then just stops. It kills me every time
I always love that little moment. Jon plays Richie as such a cutie
@@Jan-jt9jl Richie for the win lol
'Mama Mia disappoints at the Starlight Theatre'
Noooo

Bbg.. you posted this comment 4 times
Lol sorry it looks like i haven’t posted it at all for me

You can also see the smoke club dance when Alice is on the phone with Bill in TGWDLM!
Yeah I was confused when they didn’t use that scene instead
That was in the first video
Ohhh

The way I almost didn’t get the joke at first when watching bc my brain cannot register that tgwdlm was FIVE WHOLE YEARS AGO???!!
"Hot Chocolate Guy" waited so long for his drink that he changed from Robert Manion to Joey Richter! See what a lack of hot cocoa does to someone? (Just kidding... sorta!)
Not sure if this is intentional but Emma’s screaming when Paul’s being arrested is similaire to her screaming during inevitable.
I think the scream more lines up with her feral scream as Linda in Black Friday when she displays super-human strength trying to get the wiggly doll. but yes!
Oh yeah, I forgot about that 😂. Guess they’re just trying to make the most out of Lauren’s voice 😂.
I don't know if this is mentioned anywhere by zeke the fighting nighthawk could be short for ezekiel, the checkered tail nighthawk?
In Workin' Boys: "Fucking raisins... fuck this shit." same as Pete in Abstinence Camp!!
The insane amount of lore and planning that goes into these shows is UNREAL. Glad I just found out about them, they’re an insanely talented group.
the black book is called "the abomitable tome" in both nightmare time and npmd !
ooo also! from black friday, when tom sings "what my son wants my son will get" parallels the summoning song when the lords in black sing "whatever we want we get" :)
This might be a stretch, but the song "Hatchettown" reminded me that in Nightmare Time 2, they used that term in the song "Perky's Buds".
I found something cool. Listen to the instrumental for the last Verse of Axe Man, its the same as hatchet town
emma screaming in the coffee shop also might be a reference to when linda screams for like 30 seconds straight in black friday
steph said "shut! the fuck! up!" the same way Ted did in the trash can scene from TGWDLM i think
Another connection: more cosmically related characters having a distaste for phones. First McNamara with Paul, then Hannah with Paul again, and now the LOB with Steph
the whole section of "smart phones are for smart girls" was from a nightmare time episode
idk if you referenced it yet or not, but in axe man, they sing “watching nerds run for their lives”, which is pretty similar to how it is sung in “nerdy prudes must die” by max !
Yeah that was in part one!
@@Its_hatchetfield oh sorry !!

Another reference is "you know what ____ I'm done" pete and Ted both say this I literally just noticed this in my most current rewatch
Peter mentions a Brad, who pulled down his pants, it's the same guy who throws a paper ball of saliva at Hanna in a yellow jacket, and he's played by Joey too.

music in the background at the end of "axe man" is the chorus of hatchet town
Wait, Sam? As in Charlotte’s Sam? Holy shit. 2:30
Yeah!
This might be a stretch but when Steph and Pete sing "i got to let you go" vs in Black Friday when Tom sings "i'll never let you go"
Tbh this was one of my favorite musicals from starkid ❤
Idk if its the same top or not but the top corey's character wears to the prom reminds me of bills top
Also worth noting that Mariah played Regina in Mean Girls! I was so sure the line in If I Loved You was a reference to that
gOT MY FOOT ON THE GAAAS
Hannah also tells Paul to wear a watch at the end of Black Friday.
I'm thinking for 'wear a watch' by mr magnamara would be linked with Hannah's line around the end of Black Friday.
I'm thinking of making a similar video but of Hatchetfield as a whole can I ask how you were able to get the footage from all the projects? thanks :)
I just pulled up the videos on TH-cam and screen recorded them!
