We see if I can get my Hobart G-261 to weld and then fix a trailer! Check out the links in the description to support the channel! Radiator and gas cap: amzn.to/3pFLsFS
You should consider an over flow bottle with a long tube so when the engine heats up the coolant goes into the bottle . When the engine cools the coolant goes back into the radiator and keeps it full,no wasted coolant!!
A tip that I learned from an on time pipeliner, is when youve got an old machine thats been sitting for a while. get 3 or 4 1/4" rods and max the machine out and run them in. helps clean up the commentator and gets a lot of the junk out of the engine. change your oil afterwards. probably wouldn't hurt to add some marvel mystery oil in the case as well before you do it. ive got a 57 long hood 200 so you learn the tricks with these older machines.
Thanks for the tip. My family has had this machine for over 20 years. We used it off and on for awhile but it as sat a lot the last 10 or so years. I’ll get it cleaned up and running solid in no time.
@@s.weldingandfabrication4287 How about oil and gas mixture being puked into carb? The oil pan had gas and oil mixed together, I can feel some residue from oil or maybe some kind of oil leak sealer , sitting on the bottom of the oil pan so I gotta drop that. I bought it a couple weeks back and the guy claimed to not know much about it.
Hi I have Hobart similar my is running to my question is I have the lead or wire for welding but don’t weld I have question if you have any idea how setup to weld or I have to push any switch or you make any video thanks

Nice💯💯 Get Some! I like that Paint on your Welding Hood.
I painted it a long time ago before I started welding school. Was pretty much the only guy that ram a fixed shade.
I have a Wisconsin/hobart g254 250 amp 1948.
Nice!
Achtung!! That welder is not a transformer!! It is a generator, great d.c.weld source!!
Straight anti-freeze does not have the cooling capability of 50/50 mix.
You will likely need to clean the comutator/brush rack.
Most likely will in the future. I hope in the next month or two I can work on it again.
