    The cable is 100% detachable - no special tools needed. You just flip the black plastic bit (the one on the left side with the four symbols) out and then thread the cable out through.. it will be a super easy repair once Sony (or another third party) start selling replacement cables.
    Also opens up the possibility for Sony (or another third party)to theoretically sell wireless adapters in the future (although latency would be an issue)

    i bought the original psvr way back and I kid you not I used it once and thought wtf did I just drop £400 on I mean it was so underwhelming plus not to mention the million cables that came with it and that silly box thing it took like 40mins to set up properly it was half naked at best. I was super skeptical about this vr 2 as I didn't want to use it once not be impressed at all and sell it for way less money but I pulled the trigger and let me tell you the vr2 is SO SO SO SO MUCH better the vr 1. It takes seconds to set up with the single cable and the controllers feel amazing to use. Sony definitely put more effort in with this one and it shows. anyone that is on the fence due to VR 1 being so underwhelming I'm telling you now its leaps and bounds better and is actually a daily usable device that just works so well

    I am obsessed. 5 other friends and two family members bought it within the week I showed them mine and they tried it out. BTW I bought the third party “Jhua 5-in-1 PSVR2 Charging Station Stand for Playstation VR2 Touch Controllers / PS5 Controller Charging Dock Station with PSVR Headset Display Stand, 4 Controller Charger Station and LED Indicators” - it is alike the one in the video. It costs about $57 dollars BUT it charges BOTH the PSVR2 controllers AND the PS5 regular controllers in one set. Plus it also harbours your PSVR2 helmet. I am very pleased with the purchase.

    PSVR2 really got me excited for more high quality VR games like RE:8, Star Wars and GT7, and the future of VR in general (with even better displays and lenses).
    I know some people, for still unexplainable reasons, seem to not be able to get a clear image or have really bad mura or somehow are super sensitive to it, but for me, clarity is top notch, the HDR is amazing, comfort is good, everything is top notch. I've also tried a Quest 2 and own a PC Rift, and my PSVR2 looks better to those.
    Last thing I'll say, make 100% sure you've calibrated it correctly. Your eyes must be in the middle of both circles, not just inside them. When you do IPD adjustment, you want each eye perfectly in the middle of both circles. And you want to set the headset so that you can push the lenses as close to your eyes as possible, so make sure the lenses are perpendicular to your eyes, not at an angle, you can do that by playing with how low/up the back of your head you have the back strap.
    If you still see blurry, you probably need a prescription and have some astigmatism or some eyesight issue. If you see bad mura that's distracting and prevent you from being immersed in the game, you might have a bad headset with worse mura, and should try a replacement.
    If you play in cinema mode for example, it should look pretty equivalent to a 1080p TV in clarity.

  • @MattyFreedom
    @MattyFreedom ปีที่แล้ว +15

    First time in a long time that a piece of tech has left my jaw on the floor. The image quality does feel less than 4k, but that's because your eyes are bang up next to the lenses and panels. In the future it will get better, but for now it's still amazing. I've have a number of wow moments with all the games available on day 1. If you have a PS5, I really do think you need to try it and then save up.

(2) IF you are a "No-Neck" you will NEVER be able to use it. It simply will NOT stay in position. It will slide up off your head whenever you look up. (3) They used the same INFERIOR joystick module type that ALL PS's use. They COULD have gone magnetic and ELIMINATED drift. (4) The morons attached the 15ft USB cord permanently TO THE HEADSET. You won't be able to neatly set it down with 15ft of cord easily. $600 for THAT? No thanks.

    Looking at the teardown of the PSVR 2, the cable can be replaced if it gets damaged as it just connects to the circuit board via an internal plug which seems like quite a simple replacement, that's if they actually sell replacement cables yet. I would have preferred a removable cable because it's less likely to snag and break if the cable had the ability to pull out under stress.

    I have the oculus Quest 2 with the bobvr strap and battery pack, and it feels great on my head, literally not as heavy as all for me. No saying it doesn't have weight because it does, but it feels great. The psvr2 is lighter, but it feels like I can't move around without losing the sweet spot. And if you clamp it too tight to your head, then it starts giving too much pressure on my head. I have a psvr2 comfort strap on its way, so hopefully, it does the headset some justice as far as comfort

    If psvr2 ported Beat Saber I would NOT buy it. The way the headset is designed would just give us an extremely blurry beat saber. The Quest might be weaker. But the graphics are 90% clear. Unlike the psvr2 that intentionally makes the games look bad in exchange for brighter colors and higher performance. I still love my psvr2. Also, the game Switchback VR, which is coming out soon, is the spiritual successor to Rush of Blood and made by the same developer. You can find a trailer and a bunch of gameplay footage already. There is a 'don't blink' mode, which takes full advantage of PSVR2's eye tracking.

    The only flaw I found with the psvr2 is it has to be perfectly on your head or the vision is god awful. You can make adjustments to make it work but once your playing and move your head around a lot it’ll throw it off. It was enough to make using this headset more of a pain because you’re constantly adjusting it so it looks good.

    • @Al3xo2309
      @Al3xo2309 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree 100%. Bought it a week ago and as soon as I put the headset on, it feels just... off. You need to adjust everything every single time.. And it still doesn't look as sharp as it should to be honest, like it was the case with the original psvr.

    • @didibus
      @didibus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Al3xo2309 Ya, the lens are not forgiving. But when I have it right, it's super clear. Maybe you still need to fiddle some more?
      The two key things for me are have the eyes perfectly in the middle of the IPD adjustment circles. And have the lenses as close to my eyes as they can go, it helps to make sure the lenses are perpendicular, by adjusting where the back strap rests, I've got them touching my eyelash almost. Only then is it super clear.
      I hope they can make some more forgiving lenses in some revision of it though, cause it takes me like 3 minute each time to adjust, and it took me a few days to figure it out.
