6:49 Its the Plantain Garden River Valley. How 😂does it impact the fertility of the land? Could some of this water be recycled into the national water system at some time in the future?
I grew up bathing 🧼 in white river as a child, I am from Wheelerfield new road, brings back some good childhood memories. Big up Klarity for bringing this one👍🏽👍🏽
I thought Stephen Shaw mentioned in the town hall meetings that CHEC was only going to work on the road and associated drainage beside the road. CHEC has no current plans to mitigate the source of the flooding - neither upstream nor downstream of the road work. Properties will still see flooding from the sounds of it.
I said before in my previous comment about that area . They should create a large reservoir that can hold large amount of water in billions of gallons, in order to have a proper run off, otherwise this will continue, or raise the road . That trench may well be temporary, but is not deep enough to take the amount of water that is flowing into that area . If that is created the water can be used by the farmers, and also taken to a treatment plant to be used as domestic use .
I was born and raise in johnson mtn.i went to stokes Technical high.we never have any water problem. The problem started when they cut those canals in the properties i used to go to school in the 70th we walk to school never have any pronlem they have to full up those canals trust me and things will get back to normal.there was a spring just as you pass wheelerfield g oing to Bath and they cut a canal right through i know the history of the place.
Give thanks for the rain. They will have an idea of the way forward. When it flood real bad only good high up trucks can cross it. Travelled in truck back already to get to Mrt Bay. We suffer for long even the farmers suppose to get tired. Hoping for solution.
The last time this road flooded, just a few months ago the Prime Minister was at that location where he arrived by JDF helicopter, so this has been a problem location for quite a while so all this should be preplanned.
That area is a bottle neck n if the government serious about St Thomas development, you put a over pass from Golden Grove to Amity Hall, over 200 yrs the people of st Thomas going through this.
Chinese engineers are way ahead of their time with innovations I see they make floating roads on the river , joining two mountains with some extraordinary bridges put a highway on mountain side . So this ain't a big issue as long as the funding is there
@mikejohnson3601 They are no better nor worst than any other engineers around the world. In fact, they are also famous for duplicating other people 's technology. Do some research instead of spewing the usual bias one sided praises.
President sleepy Joe Biden has said no one does infrastructure better than the chinese. Every Country copies each other but when it comes to road building the Chinese are leaps ahead of the west

But this nuh mek no sense. We're gonna end up back right where we are now if that's the case.
Big up my cousin boulgle/ Lloydey and king roots.
Some walls need to be constructed on the side of those canals or some form of containment to protect the roadway during times like this

The canal needs to be made wider and deeper,at least twice what it is at this time.Blessings.
If the trench wasn't there it would be worst 🧐🧐
They need to build a flower from duckingfield to the border of portland

Be safe , Kenya Africa 🌍 is flooding alot
Thanks. You stay safe too
Sorry for the people of Eastern St Thomas. The land is so flat and all those rivers and streams .
This Will be hard to control. This amount of water Will take billions of dollar to sort out
Land of wood and water

Dregg and grind the plantin Garden river and lift the road about six feet..
Jah jah know water a gone bad
It will take care of need to clean the river going towards the sea
That area is a bottle neck n if the government serious about St Thomas development, you put a over pass from Golden Grove to Amity Hall, over 200 yrs the people of st Thomas going through this.
This is good they will now have a good idea of how to build the drain and what else they need to do to control the water flow into the drain.
That been happening before you and I born and we going to dead and gone and nothing done..
Use your zoom Flex. Dont go so close to soft spot hun.
6ft looks low just the same
True
That road will have to lift about 6 feet or more!
All that is as a result of the new roads
More to come the echo system leave land slide
I don't think this is because of the road improvement

Well that is it. The money for this section might have to increased by 500% in order to get all this water off thses areas that are flooding
