Was kicking around in 80's Canadian music and happened upon these guys, they are quite good. Another of many artists that make you scratch your head and wonder why they were not bigger.
Artoffact Records announces the first in a series of Images in Vogue reissues! Images in Vogue was a Vancouver-based new wave group formed in 1981 and released several singles and EPs before signing with Warner for their debut full-length In the House. The band achieved national and international success with their full-bodied take on new wave and synthpop, as well as their wonderful melodies which still get airplay to this day. In 1986, Images in Vogue won a CASBY award for Single of the Year (for "In the House") as well as for group of the year. They produced a second album, The Spell, before disbanding in 1991. This 4LP vinyl boxset collects some of Images in Vogue's earliest recordings, and represents the group's initial, possibly most famous line-up of Dale Martindale, Joe Vizvary, Glen Nelson, Gary Smith, Kevin Crompton (Cevin Key of Skinny Puppy), and Don Gordon (of Numb). The set includes the band's long-lost first unreleased album; unreleased demos; the band first, now rare EPs; the self-titled Images in Vogue EP, including b-sides and rarities; and a wonderful live performance in 1982 at Vancouver's famous Luv-A-Fair club. www.stormingthebase.com/images-in-vogue-incipience-4lp-fanpack-test-pressings-cd
Vizvary its amazing!! he was my HS teacher, he is plain amazing, i've never had so much respect for someone before in HS. Now i got more trained music teachers, but i owe it to him
Man! I never even knew this song existed! I was a huge Images in Vogue fan back in 1984! Just loved these guys, Especially Glen, Dale and Joe! I'm from T.O. but have been living in Japan for the last 16 yrs, and in America for about 5yrs before that so I have lost touch with the music scene in Canada. Lot's of bands I loved when I was young getting back together, Images, Blue Peter, etc.... Anyone know if they are still together??
How i love this band since 1983. Gary Smith is so hot and sexy as he was in the 80's. He has been my hot love crush of the band since that time. What a man🥰😍💓. Love the way and style he plays bass guitar and synth. He is perfect🥰🥰. These good looking canadian boys are a turn on for us New Romantic European Girls🤗👍👌
Ok so we have Dale, Joe (keyboards on the right) and Derrick on drums...I couldn't get a good enough look, do we still have Gary on guitar and Ed on the left keyboard or are those fellas new musicians...? (ye gods, how badly out of the loop am I?!) Great to hear they still sound as good as they did way back when :-)
My question is this: This song was penned and aparantly recorded in 1986, but was shelved. So...as an an AVID IIV follower/fan, I ask..are these the original vocals, or where they re-recorded?

saw these guys twice back in the 80s. Loved em then, love em now.
Somehow did not know of this song's existence until recently. My heart--I so loved IIV as a teenager!

Wow, Dale's voice is as good as back in the day. This is one of their best songs over all!
This is how ALL music should sound. :)
those are the original vocals from the 86 sessions, just cleaned up as part of the 2004 remix
Excellent synthpop!
Joe Vizvary, the synth wizard!!
indeed
My new Favorite 🙂
Una de mí banda favorita de estilo synth pop AND new wave de los 80's
love this song :)
I ws going to say wow dales voice sounds just like 1986. i last saw them live at hobour front on canada i think 1987 or 86.
Anyone?...why weren't they bigger? One of my fav bands...
record companies screwed a lot of bands over back then.
Groups talents were stifled by management.
A great, great song and video!

Dale is hot :0
having dated him I'd have to agree with you. He's also a wonderful person.
