      Yeah, and it's also that Jameson is a really talented musician, sound designer and songwriter. I find most of the so called 'synthtubers' produce rather mediocre music imho...

    Nice choice. My eurorack is made of several AJH modules (the Moog part of my cases), a Trident and a lot of others. My advice is to get a wavefolder and a LPG, your Trident's Zing will love it.

    That's a nice tutorial and your musical output speaks for itself. What a lovely tune you put out just as a demo for this. Awesome job! Im really considering a matriarch and your ideas for expansion will stick in the back of my head.
    You're a jewel in the TH-cam synth space. I love that you keep your small mishaps in there and the whole bit is very entertaining to watch. If I ever see you making longform ads like the usual synthfluencers I ask permission to bonk you on the noggin :D
    Great video as always, and I really enjoyed your latest release too.

    Your videos continue to draw me to the Matriarch despite feeling it is significantly overpriced for what you get. (All SMB, relatively limited arp & sequencer, 4 octave keybed) Still, the sound, the immediacy, and how well it can integrate with the modular rig. With 5 octaves, 2 fully independent VCFs (cutoff for both), another LFO, and a couple of AR/ASRs it would be a dream come true.

    • @JamesonNathanJones
      @JamesonNathanJones  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The name on the front of it certainly comes with its own price, but I can’t really explain how it keeps making me want to play it. Its limitations seem very well thought out.

    I wonder could you - by adding a few oscillators & a paraphony module - play some real juicy prophet5 type patches on a matriarch ?
    and just like you said sending it all through the filter/env/mod section of the matriarch ?

    the end result was a masterpiece 👍 👍 👍 what is the song´s name on Soptify?
    Question: Other than performing live or use the Matriarch´s Delay, whay would be the point of passing the eurorack oscilators through the Matriarch´s Mixer? of course the Mixer being pushed creates harmonics and distorts beautifully, is that the main point? if not, why don´t just send each one to the mixer or interface and record them in the DAW?

    • @JamesonNathanJones
      @JamesonNathanJones  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! I haven’t released it, so it’s not on Spotify. Passing it through the Matriarch means it’s not only competing for the available headroom in the mixer (leading to that great distortion) but also passes through the Matriarch’s filters, VCAs, and of course, the delay. It colors it in a really nice way.

    • @MarcoPolux
      @MarcoPolux ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JamesonNathanJones Thanks for that response, although you said it at the beginning of the Video, but that "reaffirmation" helps; I have a "West Pest" and Moog Werkstatt, pretty basic and lonely synths- With this, I will connect them directly to my grandMother (the Moog one. Sadly, my real grandmother wouldn´t let me add her a synth) or even to my Mother32 or. . . . the Sequential Pro 3 that´s on its way here 😎. So yeah, I understand that with that, it is as if my grandMother had 3 or 4 oscillators, or even 5 (instead of just 2, or 3 if you count the LFO....) because they all would be passing thorugh the entire signal path of the Moog.... and nicely saturating it.

    Is it possible to have the matriarch play in specific keys so that it will be in tune with other instruments in a mix? i don't know anything about synths, obvisouly. i am just a guitarist wanting to incorporate something ;like this into my music.

    • @JamesonNathanJones
      @JamesonNathanJones  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely! You can tune each oscillator independently, and the entire synth as a whole so it plays nice with others. If you're interested, I have a course that walks through the basics of synthesis and how to apply them to start making interesting, useable sounds: jamesonnathanjones.mykajabi.com/synthcourse

    Is there a way I can add 2 more oscillators so I can expand Matriarch’s paraphony to 6 voices? Can I buy 2 Mavis units and do that? I am so used to playing up to 6 simultaneous notes (how I usually voice my chords) that I end up unable to adjust and not play my Matriarch. 😔

    • @JamesonNathanJones
      @JamesonNathanJones  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Caloy! Unfortunately, I don’t think that would achieve what you’re hoping. You could bring the other oscillators in through the Matriarch’s mixer, but the Matriarch’s paraphony is set at either 1, 2, or 4 voices via the switch. I would have to check the manual again, but I don’t think you can set up the round robin to include more than 4 voices via the keyboard.
