I think it's probably best to not compare groups to another. Kpop fans will come at you regardless. Not just Armys. But some fans of any group aren't' sensitive at all and are mature. Just keep that in mind.
EXO is EXO. BTS is BTS. Reactors need to stop comparing groups. They both have two very distinct styles, it’s not about who can do what better. This is BTS’s choreography and it’s their song. Period.
Suzzy Suzzanna he just mentioned that EXO would probably have angle changes (I’m assuming this includes scene changes) which makes me think he probably didn’t know this was one take. People are bashing him and it’s like, of course he’s gonna think it’s a bit lackluster because there aren’t any scene changes or angle changes, but he didn’t seem to know about the one-take, and EXO is probs one of the only groups he remembers semi clearly, so boom, comparison happened. I don’t like it when they compare either but I think it’s better to inform them rather than just saying don’t compare, because informing them about things like the fact that it was one-take can help them see it in a new and hopefully better light!

fun fact: the video was indeed made in one take/shot. In the making of this mv bts were literally doing the thing over and over again, running around, hiding and waiting for their turn behind the camera man to not ruin it till they felt satisfied, it was even raining and had to practice a few times bc the ground was slippery and created mud but even with such difficulties they did an amazing job. Save Me is easily one of my favorites mv's of all time for that reason and because as y'all said, bts really showcased beautifully the choreography and meaning of the song without doing much but dancing in a wide empty scenery. This is why BTS are so loved and appreciated, they're versatile, they experiment and *actually* succeed at it, they can do a whole big ass production (fake love, bs&t, mic drop etc) or do something simple like this but _still_ make it with impact. y'all shoudl react to "who is bts: the seven members of bangtan" or the bts introduction series from gadaursan.

i don’t want to be rude, but i don’t feel like y’all are in a place to compare groups. not just because you’ve seen far more of the other group than bts so it’s biased, but also bc you simply don’t know each group well enough yet. bts is praised by other idols for their stage presence and power as a dance unit- they’re praised for being insanely in sync. watch some of their dance practises then maybe you’ll get it.
Like others have said , please don’t compare BTS or any other groups to each other because the fan wars are real. As far as cliches, I wouldn’t call it cliches. They are a family and just hang out with whom ever they want. One of them stated in a interview that it’s hard for them to go out all at once, so if they wasn’t to enjoy a movie then 2 of them would go to the last showing or go very early in the morning. They don’t go all at once because they will be noticed. Like Jin said, they are not my friend they are my family.

As far as comparing groups in general kpop fans don’t really do it. Every individual will have their own style in dance so every group you’re going to get something different that isn’t necessarily better. BTS is know for the intense dances and also slower dances like this one and spring day that show more emotion and story. If you compare this dance to something like their fake love dance or even an exo song it just won’t work. A preference would be the better word for it. Saying one is better than other is difficult to impossible but I prefer bts :)

Well, first of all, BTS and EXO have quite different preferences in dance styles. So it's weird to compare. But also,,, Two of BTS's dancers (Jimin and J-Hope) are two of the three best Kpop dancers overall (along with Taemin from SHINee)!! 👀
I wouldn’t compare any group with each other, each group has different styles of choreography/dance. BTS definitely has many different styles of choreography if you go thru their whole discography.
BTS is a big name now and the group has been around for 6 years. They were given many opportunities to live separately but the members themselves still choose to live with each other under one roof because they stated that "the members are like my phone, without it I feel very anxious and not complete".

But with time, you'll see the differences between them and one thing in specific will make you like BTS and also EXO and see that they are not the same, not better than the other cause each of them are really good in what they are doing. . While I have seen some fans go after reactors who compare, it is usually when they say that one group "took" something from another group's style, choreography, etc.... people get a little sensitive, especially since there has been T.R.A.S.H. talk accusing them (and others) of plagiarism (total crap, but ya know)..... they do get inspiration from other groups, genres, styles, imagery, etc.(just like most artists do)... like their most recent video is an homage to "Singing in the Rain" so a lot of similarities in setting, wardrobe, colors, etc.... but they ALWAYS give credit and love to those who inspire them...and they talked a lot about how iconic that movie was..... but the ripped pants are a fashion thing that a TON of groups use (and fans).... anyway.... thanks for the reaction. Without that background info what he said makes sense. EXOL and Army seem to get along alright and it’s only right that he express his viewpoint on this because that’s what good reaction videos should do. He’s not trash-talking BTS, he’s calmly stating an opinion. There’s a difference. I like to hear honest opinions, based in the knowledge they have (like Sam Johnson’s if you’ve seen his vocal analysis vids). I don’t want people to feel the need to fake an entirely positive reaction to avoid hate. Instead of hating, I think politely informing is the better route. You could just say, “oh this was a one-take mv and that’s why there weren’t angle/scene changes” instead of plain and simple hate. Making comparisons is natural, human nature. When you see or experience something new, you need to find commonality with what you already know, to better relate. When experiencing K-pop for the first time, it is NATURAL to compare it to the groups you are familiar with. When you start experiencing more K-pop, it is NATURAL to compare them with each other to see their differences, their similarities, and learn their distinctions. K-pop stans really need to understand this. You can't plunge a new person into K-pop and expect them to simply absorb it all. It takes time, and there is a process. It's not malicious, it's not racist, it's not meant to offend when comparisons are made. It's for better understanding. And I'm Korean, I don't need someone else to get offended FOR me. I can understand for myself when something is offensive, and comparisons are not, rudeness IS.

I see you guys like songs with intense dances. Bts has a lot of complex choreographies in their songs but can also switch it up to a more subtle choreography depending on the song. It's probably the best not to campare a group with another. I think comparing a group's past/old works with their recent ones is much better. I mean, you can't really see a group's improvement and talent if you're going to compare them with another? Since every group has their own flavors, own genre, own concept, own them & own feel to them.
I don't think you should start comparing other groups while reacting to a specific group. EXO is EXO and BTS is BTS they are both special in their own ways and have different styles in their music genre.
Here’s the thing about comparing groups. It’s not all about fans getting offended that you have opinions. It’s that there are very real things called fan wars and most people don’t like to start them. They can take the form of years of grudges, flame wars, and damaging hashtag campaigns which have caused artists depression, eating disorders, etc. BTS has had to cancel a couple of concerts because of death threats. And just an FYI, k-idols have a really high incidence of suicide.

Personally, no one, especially kpop reactors and newcomers should compare kpop groups due to such differences between them all. Like how they suggested that EXO hits harder isn’t fair to either of them. Their labels have different concepts and agendas for their respective groups. Like EXO are supposed to be these out of this world aliens who have these superpowers, right? They have this galactic type story it seems. BTS in this sense, and absolutely no disrespect to other groups, is the anomaly in the industry where they have a narrative based concept, but they incorporate their real life situations, issues, environment, etc. and put a dramatic twist to it. Also EXO, like all SM groups, were formed differently than BTS. SM is very focused to the performance aspect, considering why all their idols have the ability to be either main/lead vocalist even if they don’t technically have said position in their groups. Dance routines in particular are very dazzling to watch and really makes the mood for the songs, obviously. But those groups, EXO, NCT, RV, SJ, Shinee, etc. have choreos that really portray their songs powerfully or in a sense, very alluring, you are drawn to them. To me, BTS may not seem as powerful or star struck at first, but that’s is because their choreo depend on the intensity or sincerity of their song. Save Me in this sense is very desperate, vulnerable, seeking for help, hence why many of the points seem like they are “lost” in the situation. If you look at FAKE LOVE, they incorporate the “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” saying in their choreo. How they seem to be “throwing” themselves to show the destruction of the fake love and trying to shake it off of them. BST was more sensual and demonizing bc it portrayed corruption and temptation to one’s youth as they grow. In kpop, it’s not just kinda disrespectful to compare, but also unfair due to the difference in charm and art in groups’ performances and concepts. EXO seems to have the powerful and alluring aspect, while RV switch from mature, sexy witches ready to kill to cutely bopping by the poolside in the summer. TWICE’s are catchy and addictive and may seem “easy” (they aren’t, straight HIIT cardio😂), but that’s bc their concept is to make anyone love them visually and audibly, you love them “twice”. LOONA are changing the “stereotypically easy” way girl groups learn choreo with theirs on par with many of the boy groups difficulty wise. And again, BTS have theirs primarily focused to convey their story, from hard hitting to contemporary elegance, to fanatic chaos and even emotional destruction. All in all, every group has different focuses on choreo and concept that they try to portray, so no reason to try and compare. All work hard to perfect their craft and showcase their artistry. But I understand why people compare, it’s just natural to do so, especially when getting into something like kpop. The industry of forming these groups is to produce art visually and audibly. But the kicker, comparing to western entertainment goals, is also that the whole industry makes it extremely easy to actually get to know these idols and you become more than just a fan, hence why they are more protective and passionate. Excelling in vocals, learning hard choreos, alluring through modeling, to goofing off with their fellow members on set or at lunch, updating their fandoms through pictures or directly connecting over Vlive. Seriously, it’s fucking genius how they do all this in a marketing standpoint. Sometimes I feel with western music, you appreciate the music differently, you can compare a lot of them fairly easily. You enjoy the artists but you don’t totally feel totally connected as well. Kpop allows you to be these idols’ friends. Sorry for the long ass rant, but I have no malicious intent in typing this, just wanted to voice my take on why comparing certain aspects of kpop groups isn’t fair. Nonetheless, stan talent and support your faves. 화이팅!!!

fun fact: the video was indeed made in one take/shot. In the making of this mv bts were literally doing the thing over and over again, running around, hiding and waiting for their turn behind the camera man to not ruin it till they felt satisfied, it was even raining and had to practice a few times bc the ground was slippery and created mud but even with such difficulties they did an amazing job. Save Me is easily one of my favorites mv's of all time for that reason and because as y'all said, bts really showcased beautifully the choreography and meaning of the song without doing much but dancing in a wide empty scenery. This is why BTS are so loved and appreciated, they're versatile, they experiment and *actually* succeed at it, they can do a whole big ass production (fake love, bs&t, mic drop etc) or do something simple like this but _still_ make it with impact.

i don’t want to be rude, but i don’t feel like y’all are in a place to compare groups. not just because you’ve seen far more of the other group than bts so it’s biased, but also bc you simply don’t know each group well enough yet. bts is praised by other idols for their stage presence and power as a dance unit- they’re praised for being insanely in sync. watch some of their dance practises then maybe you’ll get it.

As far as cliches, I wouldn’t call it cliches. They are a family and just hang out with whom ever they want. One of them stated in a interview that it’s hard for them to go out all at once, so if they wasn’t to enjoy a movie then 2 of them would go to the last showing or go very early in the morning. They don’t go all at once because they will be noticed. Like Jin said, they are not my friend they are my family.

As far as comparing groups in general kpop fans don’t really do it. Every individual will have their own style in dance so every group you’re going to get something different that isn’t necessarily better. BTS is know for the intense dances and also slower dances like this one and spring day that show more emotion and story. If you compare this dance to something like their fake love dance or even an exo song it just won’t work. A preference would be the better word for it. Saying one is better than other is difficult to impossible but I prefer bts :)

I wouldn’t compare any group with each other, each group has different styles of choreography/dance. BTS definitely has many different styles of choreography if you go thru their whole discography.
BTS is a big name now and the group has been around for 6 years. They were given many opportunities to live separately but the members themselves still choose to live with each other under one roof because they stated that "the members are like my phone, without it I feel very anxious and not complete".

While I have seen some fans go after reactors who compare, it is usually when they say that one group "took" something from another group's style, choreography, etc.... people get a little sensitive, especially since there has been T.R.A.S.H. talk accusing them (and others) of plagiarism (total crap, but ya know)..... they do get inspiration from other groups, genres, styles, imagery, etc.(just like most artists do)... like their most recent video is an homage to "Singing in the Rain" so a lot of similarities in setting, wardrobe, colors, etc.... but they ALWAYS give credit and love to those who inspire them...and they talked a lot about how iconic that movie was..... but the ripped pants are a fashion thing that a TON of groups use (and fans).... anyway.... thanks for the reaction. Y’all salty that he mentioned there weren’t angle changes like in EXO mvs but you gotta realize they probably didn’t have the background knowledge that this was a one-take mv so jumping to different angles/scenes would’ve taken away from the genuine one take feeling. Without that background info what he said makes sense. EXOL and Army seem to get along alright and it’s only right that he express his viewpoint on this because that’s what good reaction videos should do. He’s not trash-talking BTS, he’s calmly stating an opinion. There’s a difference. I like to hear honest opinions, based in the knowledge they have (like Sam Johnson’s if you’ve seen his vocal analysis vids). I don’t want people to feel the need to fake an entirely positive reaction to avoid hate. Instead of hating, I think politely informing is the better route. You could just say, “oh this was a one-take mv and that’s why there weren’t angle/scene changes” instead of plain and simple hate.
Btw if you’re gonna come at me at least know I’m an Army, BTS was the first Kpop group I ever got into so I’m very fond of them too. There’s a difference between shutting down actual haters and trying to shut down people giving their opinion based on their prior knowledge of both groups. Making comparisons is natural, human nature. When you see or experience something new, you need to find commonality with what you already know, to better relate. When experiencing K-pop for the first time, it is NATURAL to compare it to the groups you are familiar with. When you start experiencing more K-pop, it is NATURAL to compare them with each other to see their differences, their similarities, and learn their distinctions. K-pop stans really need to understand this. You can't plunge a new person into K-pop and expect them to simply absorb it all. It takes time, and there is a process. It's not malicious, it's not racist, it's not meant to offend when comparisons are made. It's for better understanding. And I'm Korean, I don't need someone else to get offended FOR me. I can understand for myself when something is offensive, and comparisons are not, rudeness IS.

I see you guys like songs with intense dances. Bts has a lot of complex choreographies in their songs but can also switch it up to a more subtle choreography depending on the song. And yeah dont compare kpop groups because the kpop community can be really sensitive not just bts fans. Anyways, you should react to danger dance practice by bts. I personally think it's one of the hardest choreographies in kpop.

Here’s the thing about comparing groups. It’s not all about fans getting offended that you have opinions. It’s that there are very real things called fan wars and most people don’t like to start them. They can take the form of years of grudges, flame wars, and damaging hashtag campaigns which have caused artists depression, eating disorders, etc. BTS has had to cancel a couple of concerts because of death threats. And just an FYI, k-idols have a really high incidence of suicide.
Comparing is unnecessary. Esp when you're still new to reacting to BTS ;) Who knows if your mind will change. But preferences exists. Just don't compare others since they're DIFFERENT from each other

Personally, no one, especially kpop reactors and newcomers should compare kpop groups due to such differences between them all. Like how they suggested that EXO hits harder isn’t fair to either of them. Their labels have different concepts and agendas for their respective groups. Like EXO are supposed to be these out of this world aliens who have these superpowers, right? They have this galactic type story it seems. BTS in this sense, and absolutely no disrespect to other groups, is the anomaly in the industry where they have a narrative based concept, but they incorporate their real life situations, issues, environment, etc. and put a dramatic twist to it.
Also EXO, like all SM groups, were formed differently than BTS. SM is very focused to the performance aspect, considering why all their idols have the ability to be either main/lead vocalist even if they don’t technically have said position in their groups. Dance routines in particular are very dazzling to watch and really makes the mood for the songs, obviously. But those groups, EXO, NCT, RV, SJ, Shinee, etc. have choreos that really portray their songs powerfully or in a sense, very alluring, you are drawn to them.
To me, BTS may not seem as powerful or star struck at first, but that’s is because their choreo depend on the intensity or sincerity of their song. Save Me in this sense is very desperate, vulnerable, seeking for help, hence why many of the points seem like they are “lost” in the situation. If you look at FAKE LOVE, they incorporate the “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” saying in their choreo. How they seem to be “throwing” themselves to show the destruction of the fake love and trying to shake it off of them. BST was more sensual and demonizing bc it portrayed corruption and temptation to one’s youth as they grow.
In kpop, it’s not just kinda disrespectful to compare, but also unfair due to the difference in charm and art in groups’ performances and concepts. EXO seems to have the powerful and alluring aspect, while RV switch from mature, sexy witches ready to kill to cutely bopping by the poolside in the summer. TWICE’s are catchy and addictive and may seem “easy” (they aren’t, straight HIIT cardio😂), but that’s bc their concept is to make anyone love them visually and audibly, you love them “twice”. LOONA are changing the “stereotypically easy” way girl groups learn choreo with theirs on par with many of the boy groups difficulty wise. And again, BTS have theirs primarily focused to convey their story, from hard hitting to contemporary elegance, to fanatic chaos and even emotional destruction.
All in all, every group has different focuses on choreo and concept that they try to portray, so no reason to try and compare. All work hard to perfect their craft and showcase their artistry. But I understand why people compare, it’s just natural to do so, especially when getting into something like kpop. The industry of forming these groups is to produce art visually and audibly. But the kicker, comparing to western entertainment goals, is also that the whole industry makes it extremely easy to actually get to know these idols and you become more than just a fan, hence why they are more protective and passionate. Excelling in vocals, learning hard choreos, alluring through modeling, to goofing off with their fellow members on set or at lunch, updating their fandoms through pictures or directly connecting over Vlive. Seriously, it’s fucking genius how they do all this in a marketing standpoint. Sometimes I feel with western music, you appreciate the music differently, you can compare a lot of them fairly easily. You enjoy the artists but you don’t totally feel totally connected as well. Kpop allows you to be these idols’ friends.
Sorry for the long ass rant, but I have no malicious intent in typing this, just wanted to voice my take on why comparing certain aspects of kpop groups isn’t fair. Nonetheless, stan talent and support your faves. 화이팅!!!
