I honestly don’t feel like Rory and Jess feel like family. Like Luke is his uncle and only helped raised him for like a couple years and that would just make them step cousins. It’s pretty distant to me. The thing stopping me is just how much they never got to really develop a mature relationship and then Logan happened… I never saw the appeal in Logan, but they show Rory being stupidly in love with him so I almost can’t see her wanting Jess instead😕
If the show was to ever return, I wouldn't be surprised if it went through a reformating where Rory and her child are the focus and Luke and Lorelai are secondary characters since they had a pretty satisfying finale. So giving Rory and Jess's relationship more focus could be possible, though personally I don't see it occuring, especially Jess being the father.
I’ve always thought Rory and Jess should end up together but they are basically family now so like it’s not going to happen unless people just want to ignore that
Yeah, I’ve always thought about that after the Year in a life. Rory and Jess were my favorite ship but I think she’s better off with no one. Rory doesn’t deserve Jess.
Becoming step cousins as adults doesn’t make you the creepy can’t date eachother kind of family…if they were raised like siblings that would be creepy, or if they were actually blood cousins that would be creepy, but I still ship them. Rory completely sucks now but Jess seems into it still, so who are we to judge if he wants to date her
@@alisonbender8575 It would still be considered non biological inst (idk the actual term) Also Kierra brought this up in another video but Jess got his heart broken by Rory like 3 times already…. He doesn’t want to be put in a situation where he could be embarrassed…. Literati is one of my favorite ships in Gilmore girls but ai just don’t see how they could get back together….
Idk it's not like they grew up together, and Jess and Rory were a thing way before Luke and Lorelei. So I don't think it would be weird because they're not related at all nor did they grow up as siblings/cousins. For me it's a non-issue
I think the situation with Jess and Rory isn't the same as Jughead and Betty. I understand the uncomfortableness if a ship are also technically step-siblings through their parents, but Jughead and Betty both had those particular parents in their lives (and sort of knew the other's parent) before getting together. By comparison, Luke and Jess didn't even know each other properly or had regular visits to Stars Hollow for there to be any bond between them prior to Jess being a teenager. So it kind of IS just like Luke picking up a lost kid and trying to help him in some way, its just that this lost kid was also his nephew. And by the fact that Jess is his nephew, their relationship really isn't one of actual child-parent, at least definitely not in the way Lorelai and Rory's is. I think Luke is the closest family member Jess has through his mom, and it's an important relationship, but Jess by now is an adult in his 30s who lives his life outside of Luke's residence. It's not really the same as Jughead and Betty being teens in high-school and getting together and then also experiencing their parents getting together (and then also finding out they have a half-sibling that they SHARE). Now I've seen some people gripe about how Literati is impossible given that they're "step-cousins" (which no offense but is this even a said phrase in real life?), but most of the time with the exception of a few people it's just others who hate the ship and want to list a serious reason as to why they shouldn't be together. And honestly, not that I consider Amy Sherman-Palladino to be a perfect writer, but I haven't really seen her mention this as an obstacle for Jess and Rory nor do I feel like she'd be against them because of this. If she had been, I can't see why she'd put in the longing look Jess had at the end of the revival? And I particularly remember her having some jokes about Trix and a cousin of hers being involved (though I can't remember if it was true or not), so I don't see her as a writer who thinks that pseudo-familial relationships (between two adults who have never had a particular connection prior to meeting as teens) is a no-no for writing a romance between the two. This is why I also feel like the option of them together doesn't necessarily mean that Luke and Lorelai HAVE to split up or one has to die, specifically because Jess and Rory by this point are adults who can live their lives well outside of Luke/Lorelai's sphere. If there was any romance involved or possibly written, I imagine it would strictly be about Jess and Rory without involving anyone else in it like the adults because again, they're adults themselves now. Rory by this point would have a kid, so any choice she'd make for her life would be strictly her own. And I guess given how both she and Jess grew up in extremely unconventional familial units, I don't think it would necessarily be a reason why they'd strictly stick to being friends/"step-cousins". Their connection never began as a cousin-like one, in the first place.
In the finale you can see Rory is anticipating a major falling out with Lorelai, as she wants to "take it all in" before saying the four word (because she knows she's not returning to Stars Hollow?). That made me think of a new Gilmore Girls, with Alexis being the new Lorelai to her daughter, and Lauren doing barely cameos (she said she didn't want to return for a new series). I imagine Rory finding a new particular town, maybe for inspiration writing a new book? Sadly fans will hate it and want in cancelled before even airing. 😒

Luke and Rory aren't related by blood. That's it. Luke is her step dad and Jess isn't her family. Liz is not her aunt, unless, Christopher has a sister, rory doesn't have aunts except sookie who's lorelai's best friend. Gigi is rory's half sister and April is her step sister. Sherry, even though is gigi's mom, is pretty much just an acquaintance of Rory's. There's no issue with rory and Jess getting together. Again, Betty and jug's actual parents dated and got together, same with Dan and Serena, which is why lily and Rufus had to separate but Luke isn't jess's dad. As long as lorelai doesn't marry Liz or jess's dad. Rory and Jess are free to date. And in both cases, in gossip girl and Riverdale, the parents have a kid with each other to make matters worse.
The Wookie was some random guy but Logan is 100% the father of Rory's baby. They were sleeping together way more and they gave him so many parallels with Christopher.
I think Logan is the father, he is Christopher's projection and Jess will stay with her because in the reboot he turns into Luke's projection and Rory is retracing her mother's steps.
But with Jughead and Betty their parents never actually got married. So are you step siblings when your parents aren't married? I'm genuinely asking cuz I have no idea how step siblings really work
Well Lorelai and Luke are together but Christopher is Rory's dad. And I think this is basically happening again as I believe that Rory and Jess will get together finally if they make more Gilmore Girls but Logan is the father of Rory child. So history is repeating itself in a sense but the difference is that Rory is much older and right age to have a child. And this will also have Emily as the great grandma, Lorelai as the grandma, Rory as the Mother and the new baby as the new Rory character but of the generation Z rather than a millennial. That's my belief and my hopes and wishes if they make more Gilmore Girls, fingers crossed they do 😆😁
The bughead ship started way too fast and had an anticlimactic ending. I didnt see the appeal when they got together after the first 8 episodes of riverdale. Jughead said he loves betty after spending some time together with her!?!? There was no development or slow burn and they took everything so overly dramatically.🙄
At some point I realized I don't actually ship literati, and I just wanted Jess to be happy even though (in my opinion) Rory does NAWT deserve him. Honestly now I just self-ship with Jess... and like ten other Milo Ventimiglia characters.
It’s like when you realize the entirety of Twilight takes place over like 4 months. Bella moves there in January of her junior year and the final scene is Prom.
Yeah, I like to think that she went to Harvard, Never met Logan, never stole a boat, never dropped out, and everyday at 4:00 P.M after working on there writing project they hold hands and skip
i know they're the most popular ship but personally i think i'm more team logan, don't get me wrong him and their relationship definitely wasn't perfect and had it's faults but i still think they had the most potential out of all of her relationships. it seemed like a more "mature" and functional relationship compared to her other ones (at least to me anyways) and i hate the way it turned out, especially in the revival. rory doesn't have to end up with anybody but if i was a writer on the show and she had to be endgame with somebody i would have wanted it to be logan.

Logan…. I thought it was obvious
Logan
It’s totally Paul guys. Because Rory would never cheat 😂😂 (jk, of course it’s Logan.)

the same reason you cant date your mother in law.
Tyler and Catelynn from teen mom did, they’d been dating before their parents met.

That floored me when I watched as an adult. They date for five seconds. And yeah, I like his adult character a lot. But it was five seconds.
