Guys I know there are definitely more than just 8 contestants who deserve to debut in this show. IN MY OPINION, this could have been the better lineup BASED on their performance styles and overall vibe: 1. Elisia (no brainer, I already knew she would debut from the very start) 2. Hyeonju (leadership quality, oldest member but I think her age gap with the other members is a little too large lol) 3. Lim Seowon (maknae, one of the best vocals and will likely improve as she gets older) 4. Bang Yunha (one of the best vocals too imo) 5. Nana 6. Hwang Sieun 7. Lee Sunwoo 8. Kim Sumin
I agree on him on the Bang Yunha and Nana promotion. There's a possibility that both or one of them is not in the final 8 due to fan ticketing. I already expected this as their plan b. The promotion is really their plan b to save a contestant they wanted in the first place. It would still happen to other girls if both of them have high fan ticketing scores. That's the only thing i agree on his analysis everything else is a mess. He keeps saying what he has on his mind is fictional or his own thoughts/imagination, but the only thing he's trying to do is to make the line up look bad/worst 😂. He's not in favor of 4:4 when in fact this group is formed on a global audition survival show. He keeps on saying that the group is weak because of the 4:4 structure when in fact there are too many "all korean members" kgroups in korea that are not being supported by koreans, who they actually called flops/nugu group. I'll take Classy as an example. All korean members with visuals formed in survival show but still flopped nationally and internationally. The reason? Lack of local support and lack of group promotions. The same can happen to any group. As someone who watches survival shows, the 4:4 structure is the most ideal structure for the group. He keep on insisting on putting Sieun on the line up and leaving out the member with the highest votes do you think it will make a difference? And will it make the group better and more famous and "stronger" because you said the lineup is weak. The idol group they're making is to be known locally and internationally. All the 16 girls deserves to debut and had a chance to debut. It's just our duty as fans to increase their chances of their debut. Work harder next time for your pick to debut. 😇

If the Producer picked a trainee based on what they think is the best for the song then it doesn't matter what nationality that trainee is as long as they can deliver. The producers pick was probably whats best for the songs concept and what will make the song and participants shine. And also its the program who made this kind of twist to have some spice to the show. I like how you openly share your thoughts but emphasizing that the group will fail without even releasing the 1st song. The 4:4 ratio is really good since the supporters are mix with global and not only in korean supporters. If vanesa was not elimated she could have secured the spot with just fan ticketing alone. I think the line up is good since there are members who are minor they cant do sexy or heavy performance songs like what they had with LOCO. This group would focus on cute concepts thats more on vocals and visuals and less in performance. No matter what happens ill still support them right from the start universe ticket started I have already supported show and participants regarless of who will debute or not. If Miss South Africa or Ms Vietnam beats Miss Philippines in Miss Earth held in Manila, viewers will say that Philippines is defeated. That's a very basic logic. As an american that lived in Korea, i do understand what Dave speaking about the balance. Is not normal to have 50/50 split but i think is rude to say get gehlee out and put someone with zero charisma and facial expressions on her place. He should have maybe express this disbalance by saying a 9 group member would have been a better option. Not just hack one because of nationality. But even with 9 i would have put Nizi in there has the main rapper/dancer 😅. As long has the company comes out with good songs the group should do fine. I would be interested on how much they made with paid ticketing hearts and from what countries the transactions came from. I think that was a great idea. It gives the company an idea of where the support/money is coming from and cater there. Japan and Korea are saturated markets so targeting the Filipinos opens a marhet that they can dominate if u count also filipino americans. Right! Support hard! That's the answer. There is always a first in history. Fans may say that G(I)-dle has more foreign members and yet they are successful. But that is not the case initially. It was 3:3 and they are not that big as a rookie (comparing to how the new 4th gen debuted: aespa, IVE, LS, NJ, etc.) What happened that changed their status? Constant marketing and exposure to the point that the Koreans mistakes most of the members as Koreans too (except for Minnie of course).

The original plan was to include Hwang Sieun, unfortunately Oh Yoona and Gehlee has a lot of fans and rank 1st and 3rd in fan ticketing so they didn't have choice but to drop her. This is based on the exposure given to them from the early chapter. But saying it will not be success is not quite sure. I also love Hwang Sieun. But to say Sieun should have been picked instead of Gehlee is ridiculous. Gehlee is a better singer than Sieun, her dancing is getting better. And most of all her beauty and charisma is a standout. Producers take into consideration their charisma and who has more fans so it is perfectly understandable that Gehlee passed. The producers should have made it 9members so that more koreans get accepted.

What he's saying is that Korea will likely not support this group with that many foreigners. The few non K-fans who followed this audition program may support this group with this line up but the general Korean public will have a hard time accepting a kpop group that has this many non-Korean members. When a K-pop group is not successful in Korea, even if you call them a global group, it will be hard for them to garner much attention from international K-fans as well. You may or may not agree with him but there's logic in what he's saying. He does not hate any member. He's just stating how this group will be perceived with this lineup. If you want to prove his premise wrong, you will need to support this group hard when they debut. Picking a fight with vloggers will not get you anywhere.
Idk about the others but while I know his logic is based on experience, I think the target market of this group (MZ in Korea, Gen A for the world) will not hold such distinctions. From 4th Gen onwards the Korean gp have started to stray away from stanning Kpop groups, and the global market has become increasingly more relevant. All the baby bra warriors of the 2nd Gen now have purchasing power. David is not considering that crowd at all. What's more important to a Kpop group isn't the makeup of the group anymore, but how catchy and well marketed the debut song is.

It was better if Gehlee did not debut and Sumin did. I would have swapped Hyeonju with Jinyoung but i know Jinyoung was very far. Anyway, i dont care about this group anymore. I just hope Kotoko,Seowon and Yoona the best.
they are all talented, even those who did not debut, no doubt about that. now, if some people wanted their bias to debut, all of them should've supported them through voting. UNIS members were picked because not only did the judges see something special in them (coming from their perspectives as producers, artists, or idols) but they also had the support they needed from fans who voted for them.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. Yes Koreans are defeated because they did not support them. Overseas fans are more active especially when they have someone representing their country. come to think of it. Korean Groups became big also with the support overseas. Every girl has different charms and I believe they are all talented. But GD is talented too and I’ve seen her grow in a short amount of time. But I don’t think they’ll go big since they have big competitors.
Although, I agree that there are some facts in what you were saying. I can't help but see that you are harboring negative emotion towards the foreign lineup. If we take off the outcome of the voting which leads to just talent, personality, skills and outcome of their stage performance alone. Do you think your pick did outshine all the foreign ones? Well i think the competition this Time was already beed decided who they pick even before the performance this time judges pick who they really want to debut that was not strong in fan ticketing even sewon was not getting any ticket this time because they already know who passed through fan ticketing. I think Judges already know who selected in fan ticketing then they take good trainee that was not ABLE to get in through fan ticketing.

I was bored and stumbled on this video because I saw the name of my bias. I expected the negativity since you're Korean. I'm half Chinese btw, and part of Gehlee's big fanbase. Your opinion is valid, but man, you should have kept your opinion to yourself. It's a Global Girl Group for a reason. Watching you say that to ONLY 2 ASEAN representatives was so f up. I'm not even into K-pop anymore, but because of Gehlee, I chose to stan again. You don't know how big Gehlee's fanbase is in different countries. Imagine how the group would fall because the viral and famous contestants got eliminated. Because based on your thoughts, they are weak? Now check their accounts and popularity with a global audience. Lots of ppl supported the group because of Gehlee btw. I'm not even going to deny Elisia's popularity. I was also sad when Sieun didn't make it 'cause she was one of my picks, but I still appreciate all their hard work and was happy for them. You are old enough, so try to be more open and be better. 최종화치고 너무 맥빠진 진행이었음~ 각 인물에 서사가 차곡차곡 쌓이고 그걸 최종에서 해소하는 방식의 연출이 없다보니 각 인물에 몰입이 너무 안됌~ 그냥 무슨 참가자들 콘서트 보는 줄 알았음~ 콩 볶아 먹듯이 공연하기 바쁘고~ 결과 발표하기 바빴음~ 결과발표 과정도 어설프고ㅠ 그리고 한 명씩 합격발표 될 때마다 긴장감도 없고~ 그냥 출석부 부르는 줄 알았다~ 그리고 잇지 멤버들은 도중에 증발해서 사라짐~ 최종화에 사회라도 보는 줄 알았는데ㅠ 이런 디테일 부족들이 많이 아쉬움~ 그리고 개인적으로는 엘리시아, 나나, 방윤하, 임서원, 코토코, 진현주, 김수민, 황시은 이 멤버가 밸런스가 좋다고 생각함~ 김수민, 황시은은 점점 빛나는 확신의 아이돌상이었는데~ 팬투표에 밀린게 너무너무 아쉬움ㅠ 젤리당카, 오윤아는 최종명단에 들 정도의 실력은 아니라고 생각함~ 심사위원 픽도 못받았었고~ 멤버들 픽도 못받았고~ 독보적인 퍼포먼스로 주목받은 회차도 없었음~ 단지 팬들의 엄청난 화력 하나로 여기까지 올라왔음~ 특히 엘리시아의 독보적인 포스로 조기 데뷔확정 지으면서 필리핀 팬들의 화력이 젤리당카에 더더더 집중됐을거라고 봄~ 뭐 팬투표가 중요한 시스템이라 어쩔수없지만~ 여하튼 난 엘리시아,나나,방윤하,코토코 응원하겠지만ㅠ 팀으로 응원할 지는 모르겠다~ 아숩다ㅠ

I've been watching other videos you have regarding this survival show and at this point I can say that you just don't like other foreign contestant, let me straight it up. This show is basically fan voting so if your fave doesn't get to debut then shut the trap, 2.4M votes from fans and you're saying Gehlee shouldn't be debut. She work hard to get to where she is right now, she's singing and acting, modeling since child, she has the facial expression and voice to be an idol and if your problem is dancing, dancing can be better as long you work hard practicing, let's be fr. This is the problem to some of koreans mostly with this age, they're still living under the rocks. Not just because it's called Kpop means it need to be all koreans, there's a lot of talents in the world and not koreans only has that okay. Just to make sure you know, even Elisia and Gehlee didn't debut and go back to PH they still have a career to go back into, and they're rich kids back in here. The point of what I'm saying is let's just be happy with the outcome, if you really want your fave to be in kpop industry then support them to their journey till they make it. Has a point right? For real, they all deserve to debut as they're all talented, but since there will only be 8 to be chosen as Unis global girl group, that's why they need to pick only 8 girls. for me, on the other hand, it's not really sad that the other girls were not chosen because i believe that they will receive offers from other agencies to be part of a girl group or any projects suiting for them and as i've said, they all deserve to debut.. so let's just accept the fact that these chosen 8 should debut as Unis, and they're not weak.. it's prejudice to say that way. and this is a global group not just for korea, if other koreans have the same view as you, then they should have voted hard.. artists succeed not just because of talent but also fans, and in this case as shown through the votings, the 8 chosen girls were the ones who have the most votes..
the finale' episode felt rushed... this made me disappointed in the presentation of the debut line-up... although we already have the hindsight whom will debut, still... they could made it a bit interesting by deviating from the level presentation they did from previous episodes... i even thought, they would made the line-up to 9 members... hehe...

Guys I know there are definitely more than just 8 contestants who deserve to debut in this show. IN MY OPINION, this could have been the better lineup BASED on their performance styles and overall vibe:
1. Elisia (no brainer, I already knew she would debut from the very start)
2. Hyeonju (leadership quality, oldest member but I think her age gap with the other members is a little too large lol)
3. Lim Seowon (maknae, one of the best vocals and will likely improve as she gets older)
4. Bang Yunha (one of the best vocals too imo)
5. Nana
6. Hwang Sieun
7. Lee Sunwoo
8. Kim Sumin
I agree on him on the Bang Yunha and Nana promotion. There's a possibility that both or one of them is not in the final 8 due to fan ticketing. I already expected this as their plan b. The promotion is really their plan b to save a contestant they wanted in the first place. It would still happen to other girls if both of them have high fan ticketing scores. That's the only thing i agree on his analysis everything else is a mess. He keeps saying what he has on his mind is fictional or his own thoughts/imagination, but the only thing he's trying to do is to make the line up look bad/worst 😂. He's not in favor of 4:4 when in fact this group is formed on a global audition survival show. He keeps on saying that the group is weak because of the 4:4 structure when in fact there are too many "all korean members" kgroups in korea that are not being supported by koreans, who they actually called flops/nugu group. I'll take Classy as an example. All korean members with visuals formed in survival show but still flopped nationally and internationally. The reason? Lack of local support and lack of group promotions. The same can happen to any group. As someone who watches survival shows, the 4:4 structure is the most ideal structure for the group. He keep on insisting on putting Sieun on the line up and leaving out the member with the highest votes do you think it will make a difference? And will it make the group better and more famous and "stronger" because you said the lineup is weak. The idol group they're making is to be known locally and internationally. All the 16 girls deserves to debut and had a chance to debut. It's just our duty as fans to increase their chances of their debut. Work harder next time for your pick to debut. 😇

The producers pick was probably whats best for the songs concept and what will make the song and participants shine. And also its the program who made this kind of twist to have some spice to the show. I like how you openly share your thoughts but emphasizing that the group will fail without even releasing the 1st song. The 4:4 ratio is really good since the supporters are mix with global and not only in korean supporters. If vanesa was not elimated she could have secured the spot with just fan ticketing alone. I think the line up is good since there are members who are minor they cant do sexy or heavy performance songs like what they had with LOCO. This group would focus on cute concepts thats more on vocals and visuals and less in performance. No matter what happens ill still support them right from the start universe ticket started I have already supported show and participants regarless of who will debute or not. What's wrong with what he said? He was just saying that showing that made it feel like that Koreans are defeated. That's it. It is intrinsically and immediately implied since the trainees bear their nationalities. If Miss South Africa or Ms Vietnam beats Miss Philippines in Miss Earth held in Manila, viewers will say that Philippines is defeated. That's a very basic logic. And don't even say it's different, coz everything are different . It's a matter of perspective. As an american that lived in Korea, i do understand what Dave speaking about the balance. Is not normal to have 50/50 split but i think is rude to say get gehlee out and put someone with zero charisma and facial expressions on her place. He should have maybe express this disbalance by saying a 9 group member would have been a better option. Not just hack one because of nationality. But even with 9 i would have put Nizi in there has the main rapper/dancer 😅. As long has the company comes out with good songs the group should do fine. I would be interested on how much they made with paid ticketing hearts and from what countries the transactions came from. I think that was a great idea. It gives the company an idea of where the support/money is coming from and cater there. Japan and Korea are saturated markets so targeting the Filipinos opens a marhet that they can dominate if u count also filipino americans. Regarless thanks for your review Dave, i also agree the show was messy and cruel at times.

Right! Support hard! That's the answer. There is always a first in history. Fans may say that G(I)-dle has more foreign members and yet they are successful. But that is not the case initially. It was 3:3 and they are not that big as a rookie (comparing to how the new 4th gen debuted: aespa, IVE, LS, NJ, etc.) What happened that changed their status? Constant marketing and exposure to the point that the Koreans mistakes most of the members as Koreans too (except for Minnie of course).
i hope the koreans understand that japanese and filipino is not an enemy to the koreans. (perhaps the government in japan's case but not the japanese people).

The original plan was to include Hwang Sieun, unfortunately Oh Yoona and Gehlee has a lot of fans and rank 1st and 3rd in fan ticketing so they didn't have choice but to drop her. This is based on the exposure given to them from the early chapter. But saying it will not be success is not quite sure. Maybe in Korea but in Global it will be hit especially in SEA and they will be no choice but to support them since they are famous globally. I also love Hwang Sieun. But to say Sieun should have been picked instead of Gehlee is ridiculous. Gehlee is a better singer than Sieun, her dancing is getting better. The producers should have made it 9members so that more koreans get accepted.

What he's saying is that Korea will likely not support this group with that many foreigners. The few non K-fans who followed this audition program may support this group with this line up but the general Korean public will have a hard time accepting a kpop group that has this many non-Korean members.
When a K-pop group is not successful in Korea, even if you call them a global group, it will be hard for them to garner much attention from international K-fans as well.
You may or may not agree with him but there's logic in what he's saying. He does not hate any member. He's just stating how this group will be perceived with this lineup.

Idk about the others but while I know his logic is based on experience, I think the target market of this group (MZ in Korea, Gen A for the world) will not hold such distinctions. From 4th Gen onwards the Korean gp have started to stray away from stanning Kpop groups, and the global market has become increasingly more relevant. All the baby bra warriors of the 2nd Gen now have purchasing power. David is not considering that crowd at all.
What's more important to a Kpop group isn't the makeup of the group anymore, but how catchy and well marketed the debut song is.

they are all talented, even those who did not debut, no doubt about that. now, if some people wanted their bias to debut, all of them should've supported them through voting. UNIS members were picked because not only did the judges see something special in them (coming from their perspectives as producers, artists, or idols) but they also had the support they needed from fans who voted for them.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. Yes Koreans are defeated because they did not support them. Overseas fans are more active especially when they have someone representing their country. come to think of it. Korean Groups became big also with the support overseas. Every girl has different charms and I believe they are all talented. But GD is talented too and I’ve seen her grow in a short amount of time. But I don’t think they’ll go big since they have big competitors.

Well i think the competition this Time was already beed decided who they pick even before the performance this time judges pick who they really want to debut that was not strong in fan ticketing even sewon was not getting any ticket this time because they already know who passed through fan ticketing. I think Judges already know who selected in fan ticketing then they take good trainee that was not ABLE to get in through fan ticketing.
I totally agree in the sentiments... eliminated trainees were unable to stand in the stage to voice out their sentiments and appreciation towards their fans... KPOP is imbedded in Korean culture and i also think the line-up is a big challenge for SBS...

I was bored and stumbled on this video because I saw the name of my bias. I expected the negativity since you're Korean. I'm half Chinese btw, and part of Gehlee's big fanbase. Your opinion is valid, but man, you should have kept your opinion to yourself. It's a Global Girl Group for a reason. Watching you say that to ONLY 2 ASEAN representatives was so f up. I'm not even into K-pop anymore, but because of Gehlee, I chose to stan again. You don't know how big Gehlee's fanbase is in different countries. Imagine how the group would fall because the viral and famous contestants got eliminated. Because based on your thoughts, they are weak? Now check their accounts and popularity with a global audience. Lots of ppl supported the group because of Gehlee btw. I'm not even going to deny Elisia's popularity. I was also sad when Sieun didn't make it 'cause she was one of my picks, but I still appreciate all their hard work and was happy for them. You are old enough, so try to be more open and be better. Stop the xenophobia and do other good things in your life.

최종화치고 너무 맥빠진 진행이었음~
각 인물에 서사가 차곡차곡 쌓이고 그걸 최종에서 해소하는 방식의 연출이 없다보니 각 인물에 몰입이 너무 안됌~
그냥 무슨 참가자들 콘서트 보는 줄 알았음~
콩 볶아 먹듯이 공연하기 바쁘고~
결과 발표하기 바빴음~ 결과발표 과정도 어설프고ㅠ
그리고 한 명씩 합격발표 될 때마다 긴장감도 없고~
그냥 출석부 부르는 줄 알았다~
그리고 잇지 멤버들은 도중에 증발해서 사라짐~
최종화에 사회라도 보는 줄 알았는데ㅠ
이런 디테일 부족들이 많이 아쉬움~
그리고 개인적으로는 엘리시아, 나나, 방윤하, 임서원, 코토코, 진현주, 김수민, 황시은 이 멤버가 밸런스가 좋다고 생각함~
김수민, 황시은은 점점 빛나는 확신의 아이돌상이었는데~
팬투표에 밀린게 너무너무 아쉬움ㅠ
젤리당카, 오윤아는 최종명단에 들 정도의 실력은 아니라고 생각함~ 심사위원 픽도 못받았었고~ 멤버들 픽도 못받았고~ 독보적인 퍼포먼스로 주목받은 회차도 없었음~ 단지 팬들의 엄청난 화력 하나로 여기까지 올라왔음~ 특히 엘리시아의 독보적인 포스로 조기 데뷔확정 지으면서 필리핀 팬들의 화력이 젤리당카에 더더더 집중됐을거라고 봄~
뭐 팬투표가 중요한 시스템이라 어쩔수없지만~
여하튼 난 엘리시아,나나,방윤하,코토코 응원하겠지만ㅠ

@@Kamchoo굳이 실력으로 평가하면 엘리시아 제외하고 잘하는 사람이 없었음~ 그나마 저 그룹 안에서 평가하자면 젤리당카, 오윤아가 아쉽다는 얘기임~ 다들 실력이 조금 부족하다면 그 외적인 요소가 플러스 되야함~ 코토코는 노력+성장세+캐릭터성이라는 서사를 회차마다 쌓아올렸음~ 결국 8회차에 심사위원 픽을 받아서 승급까지 받음~ 멤버들 픽도 아니고~ 팬들 투표도 아니고~ 심사위원 픽이었음~ 그 말은 실력으로는 심사위원한테 한 회차 정도는 인정받았다는 소리임~ 젤리당카, 오윤아가 총 10회차 동안 토코토 만큼 서사적으로나 실력으로 임팩트 남긴 적이 있나?!?! 저 많은 멤버들 뚫고 임팩트를 남긴 회차가 있다는 거 자체가 대단한거임~ 그리고 코토코는 초반에 팬덤이 매우 두터운 상태가 아니었음~ 그런데 오디션을 거칠 수록 팬덤이 커졌는데~ 팬덤을 키워갈 수 있는 능력+매력을 높게 사는 거임~

I've been watching other videos you have regarding this survival show and at this point I can say that you just don't like other foreign contestant, let me straight it up. This show is basically fan voting so if your fave doesn't get to debut then shut the trap, 2.4M votes from fans and you're saying Gehlee shouldn't be debut.
She work hard to get to where she is right now, she's singing and acting, modeling since child, she has the facial expression and voice to be an idol and if your problem is dancing, dancing can be better as long you work hard practicing, let's be fr.
This is the problem to some of koreans mostly with this age, they're still living under the rocks. Not just because it's called Kpop means it need to be all koreans, there's a lot of talents in the world and not koreans only has that okay.
Just to make sure you know, even Elisia and Gehlee didn't debut and go back to PH they still have a career to go back into, and they're rich kids back in here.

For real, they all deserve to debut as they're all talented, but since there will only be 8 to be chosen as Unis global girl group, that's why they need to pick only 8 girls. for me, on the other hand, it's not really sad that the other girls were not chosen because i believe that they will receive offers from other agencies to be part of a girl group or any projects suiting for them and as i've said, they all deserve to debut.. so let's just accept the fact that these chosen 8 should debut as Unis, and they're not weak.. it's prejudice to say that way. and this is a global group not just for korea, if other koreans have the same view as you, then they should have voted hard.. artists succeed not just because of talent but also fans, and in this case as shown through the votings, the 8 chosen girls were the ones who have the most votes..

the finale' episode felt rushed... this made me disappointed in the presentation of the debut line-up... although we already have the hindsight whom will debut, still... they could made it a bit interesting by deviating from the level presentation they did from previous episodes... i even thought, they would made the line-up to 9 members... hehe...
