Nice demo... I tied a brace of these to add to my chironomid box.

A lot of these mids blend from dark olive at the collar, to a light olive mid section into a red butt. A variation of this I tie is using yellow olive instead and put UV resin on the collar to darken and at the butt to blend. For the middle section use crazy glue to preserve the yellow olive but you have to be careful not to overlap the resin and glue

Sounds dangerous 😳 ☠️. I definitely would not be mixing chemicals. How do they look without resins? Try getting them wet also, you might be pleasantly surprised.

@@BradKnowlesPembertonFishFinder haha.. If this is my last post you know the answer! Yeah when they get wet it's the same effect as uv resin.. Quite dark. I sometimes use Sally Hanson Hard as Nails to get more sheen and retain the colour.. The super glue isn't very glossy

I don't like how the smell of hard nails takes over my fly box.

@@BradKnowlesPembertonFishFinder yeah fair enough. We met a couple of times at the shop, I'm Alex. I stopped by last summer and we chatted. You probably don't remember me as I'm sure you meet a lot of fisherman.
