I was test driving the new Volester a few weeks ago, the steering felt exactly the same, rubbery and snaps back all the time. It doesn't feel good, but the car looked gorgeous inside out! Test drive it, maybe you wouldn't mind the steering as much as I do.
@DtorBill I agree that the RAV4 is probably a better car overall, but not by much and the price difference is significant for many people. The real price difference shows up in the high end models. The RAV4 Limited V6 4x4 with no accessories comes in at $31,540 while the Tucson Limited V6 4x4 with no accessories comes in at $29,490. That's equally equipped vehicles with sunroofs and navi. We're talking $2,000... 6% price difference! That can pay for a lot of maintenance or accessories.
you should definitely look into North Carolina again for a sports car review. Take it along the Blue Ridge Parkway. BMW's would make the most sense since the factory is close by in SC. I would really consider that.
@Travide Hmm we have had our Limited since January and no problems at all. Sorry to hear about your luck. We picked ours up at 53KMS (we live in Canada) it now has close to 8,000KMS and (knock on wood) it's still has no issues.
Mr. Richard P. about the slamming of the back door, you can try to open a window or another door before closing the back door, that way you dont need to slam it down. I guess it has something to do with air.
@Shadowhunter712 Yup...brand spanking new. We checked the hood prior to signing the papers and they fixed it asap but I failed to test the passenger window that rolled down but would not roll back up. And the part takes 2 weeks for shipping so it's been a pain. But I really love the car, I just hope I made the right choice.
@jakobat1994 its not a v6 its a 4 cyl. and in the usa a 1.4L engine would probably make 90hp, we dont get any of the european engine powerplants here in the usa, they are all banned for emission standard reasons.
@Travide - Keep pressing them. Don't give up. Hyundai needs to know that their car is not picture perfect. I kept pressing and ended up getting an extended warranty for no charge. Granted, I would have rather exchanged the car for a Santa Fe, but I'll live with the warranty. I may keep the SUV, may trade it in this August for a Subaru Forester or Honda Element.
the 2010-present Hyundai Tucson/ Hyundai ix35 (Most markets)/ Hyundai Tucson ix (South Korea) is assembled in Ulsan, South Korea Žilina, Slovakia Beijing, China Bekasi, Indonesia (2010) Cairo, Egypt Nošovice, Czech Republic (2011)
@Shadowhunter712 I was able to get one in the color I liked. But I'm really bummed about the window failing to work and the hood not fully closing. Other than that, it's a fantastic car, just sucks that I have to deal with repairs like this so soon.
the engine on the 2010-present Hyundai Tucson/ Hyundai ix35 (Most markets)/ Hyundai Tucson ix (South Korea) Engine 1.6L Gamma GDI Turbo I4 petrol 2.0L Theta II I4 petrol 2.4L Theta II I4 petrol 1.7L R-Line CRDI I4 diesel 2.0L R-Line CRDI I4 diesel
@TheSpawnofSkynyrd yeah dont feel bad I have one the moment I drove it of the lot heat didnt work, few weeks later driver seat broke, then belt squeaks so bad its shameful to start up and drive around, also a month ago my brakes fail got in an accident, Hyundai said it is normal for the brakes to freeze a fail on me GREAT and after all that Hyundai told me excuses, and I am now contacting there Headquarters, still no anwsers o yeah and the great warranty is only great until u need it then
@Thinknappythoughts yeah man I have limited tuscon and I have had TONS for problems soon as I bought it heat didn;t work, they undercover fell off in snow lol, my windows knocks with its being rolled down, my belts squek as if it was 20 years old, warranty to not cover belts and under cover lol, my seat had welding broke on it BRAND NEW and had to replace it but still has knocking sounds lol and cd's get stuck in my stereo so yeah im pretty fit up with my junky tucson and I swear never to
I bought this car. Great Technology...Drive computer malfunctions frequently...Brake assist is annoying. ...I'm already looking to trade it in for a Subaru Forester... ...4 months after I bought it.
@DtorBill Dude, I am an Engineer, I do know what is torque....This is an small SUV, it is not a rock climber or a heavy duty truck. It got enough torque for what it is. It actually has more torque than the CR-V and the Rav4. So, whats your point? Are gonna tell me they both have low torque?
No, you are not correct. "Korean cars" are not better than American. Korean cars are built for completelly different customers and different culture, and should NOT be allowed to be sold in NATO member countries. It's not about "quality" or something, it is just "different technology" not complient with NATO standards.
@gobaruba9 never seen a Korean car with any performance besides the genesis. all they are is a budget car that gets you from point A to point B, no more no less. Not impressed with any Korean cars breaks are mushy, gas throttle is unresponsive on all their cars except for the Genesis. You cant have" Performance" with Fuel Economy. Theres a reason why their cheap, no market power. Same thing Toyota and Honda did to break into the market, sell dirt cheap cars that were reliable.
Do you think American cars are best they are the worst but what can we do something there no way just to buy them. Japan and Korian cars are mush better than some American cars.
@jakobat1994 stupid!! that must be turbo chager something like that!!! Who can make regular engine w 170 hp from 1.4 L???? You know about your car really?
Really great review! This host did an excellent job at being insightful and funny, it has me looking up more FLDetours reveiws.

@Rorycarguy I agree...In Europe the most common gearbox is Manual (stick). Automatic gearbox is something very "luxury" not everybody pay for it.

The Ford truck going past at 1:16 might not have been intentional, but it pretty much supports what you're saying...
I got one and the same color, fantastic car, great value for money
@Rorycarguy being it's a Hyundai probably about 5 euros or so.
You're so lucky you get the diesels over there!
This guy has the perfect voice for video game voice acting. like rachit and clank

@Travide - Basically the addition of cruise control. Not many differences other than that.
@jakobat1994
The car is a 2.4L 4 cylinder.
