Good work. I have this board 4.1 rev and a voodoo 3 2000, i touch the card's board (not the heatsink) and is too much hot to me (no reference to compare), i know that graphics card can be hot but to me is hot, this happen even in desktop. So i was digging for info, is not related to voodoo hot, but i found in vogons one guy who ask for difference between 4.1-5.2 and one guy said "main differente between 4.1 vs 5.1 is the VCC3 jumpers on rev 5.2 that will connect VCC 3.3 directly to psu. I believe that is in reaction to newer AGP cards destroying some Gigabyte mainboards with their power draw. you can run a wire on the back of the board from atx connector to the AGP slot if your revision doesnt have the jumper." I found another guy (about a gigabyte 370 socket board) , who ask for help because of a voodoo 3 3000 being hot and one guy said to short jp12 &13 to fix that. so I have related both topics but I don't know if they will be related, are you informed about this?. My problem is i dont find a tutorial or trusted 100% info. Thanks in advice.
Never had any of the issues you described, allso not really a 3dfx guy, but maybe i can test out some stuff with a card with high powerdraw if i find time :)
@@taggxoc in case youre interested i found the correct info. What happened to some first agp boards is they arent prepared for voodoo cards because they are more current hungry, maybe the vrm or the board gets too hot but i dont know if this 4.1 rev suffer from this. the 5.2 rev has the jp13 jumper to change the vcc3 voltage but i dont know anything more beucase i dont know about electeonics, just i try to understand as much possible i can do. i found another board 370 socket that clearly has a jumper for voodoo 3 card (didnt mention anything about the voltage, just said that jumper is for that graphics card) and i found another guy in reddit who did a similar mod to a board because that part was really hot, so he did a mod to provide current from the 3.3v atx pin.
@@juhakarhu9410 Hello man, dont worry i dont know if this is a problem or not, that was just an asumption. I have right now the voodoo 3 2000, i havent tested it too much being honest but for the moment I haven't had any problems instead of the voodoo heat, according to what i saw on the internet this card seems to be very hot, i dont know if being hot in the desktop is normal or not but from what I see people say that this card is very hot and that it is good to put a fan on the heatsink
Nice work ))

Any guidance for what exact caps to use to re-cap? Some of those blue caps on my GA-5AX are bulging near the CPU and agp slot.
big thanks!
