Man, Jack Eichel is such a damn good hockey player. He’s like the Anderson .Paak of the NHL. As a Sabres fan, I am thrilled for him to be free from our… - let’s go with “troubled” - organization so he can live his best life in Vegas. Hopefully a better roster/culture and less responsibility will make him the star his talent deserves. All that said, Tuch has “future captain” written all over him and Krebs is a stud among a talented prospect pool. Things are trending up in Buffalo, but man does it suck that it couldn’t happen with Eichel and Reinhart.
As a VGK fan, I’m so excited to see Eichel start the next chapter of his career in Vegas. I’m also equally happy for Tuch. He finally gets a chance to be a top 6 forward and he absolutely has the mentality of a future captain. He did great in Vegas but his ceiling is definitely higher in Buffalo. At the end of what was a very messy saga was at least a great trade for both sides.
Wish things could have worked out better, but it was definitely best for both sides to part ways. Eichel looks like he's going to really find his stride again in Vegas, sooner rather than later. Then as mentioned Tuch and Krebs have both looked great for Buffalo. Tuch is playing at a point per game pace, and brings an edge/attitude Buffalo has been lacking for years. He'll be captain starting next season, for sure. Krebs looks like he's going to develop into a great playmaker. That kids vision and passing ability looks phenomenal. Not to mention we still are getting a late 1st rounder out of it. I liked Reinhart. Would have liked to keep him at the right price, but I understand he feels like he's going through his prime and doesn't want to be stuck in an endless rebuild his entire career. He deserves to be on a winner like Florida. I'm just glad we got Levi in the deal. I'm keeping my fingers crossed he keeps developing at this pace. He's looking like the best goaltender Buffalo has had since Miller, possibly even better.
To be honest I agree with the Sabres. A full replacement is too risky for a contact sport, but I wish him the best. Met my wife at his draft party and on a night my friends and I decided to get hammered and dress up. We went to a rooftop bar in winter (yes Buffalo has outdoor heaters). We ran into Reinhardt, Kane and of course Jack. It was in the elevator. A bunch of drunk 20 somethings made all of them step back and frantically push close. Jack. That man said “Come in guys!”. We rode the 12 stories up. He took pictures with my friends and I. He then said “Goodnight guys!”. Legend. Absolute legend! Enjoy Vegas!
@@tj_mcdonald21 He is not a C. He won with Vegas due to the guys around him. Buffalo got a good return they just all had down years this past season. Him being here would not have gotten them in the playoffs. Goals against is the issue. Plus he can still have his career end with any awkward fall

Alex tuch has been mediocre in buffalo and eichel has flourished and has become one of the best 2 way forwards in the league. Vegas won the trade and they won the gamble on his surgery. I know it has to sting for buffalo to see what they gave up.

Like I said he is not a guy that makes others better. He needs to be around a team that was already a contender like Vegas. Thompson has already scored as many in a season for the Sabres as he ever did

Eichel got good coaching to teach him patience, good timing, positioning, and most importantly maturity. Buffalo has had alot of really good players and has managed to still lose. Its not always the player, sometimes it's the team. Eichel is probably the most underrated player in the league. He is elite and has the unique status of being one of the very few top 6 fowards in the nhl to PK abd probably one of only a few on the top PK. Especially given the points he puts up? Not even a question on his elite talent.
Keep in mind Buffalo is a hockey town. This year is a protest. Covid is not helping, but ask a person what the Sabres record is. They know it. You don’t go from sellouts to half empty when fans are used to losing. I love the Sabres and always will. They will make a wildcard in the next 20 years

Yeah,man. Here in Buffalo he did great things every, say, 20 games or so. I was looking for all the highlights of him looking skyward and blaming teammates for missed plays.
Eichel is the reason that trade took so long and buffalo got nothing in return. Eichel kinda fucked the sabres. The moment a player goes vocal about wanting to be traded a team immediately loses any kind of leverage they have not to mention Eichel and his agent did this numerous times which tanked the sabres leverage and they knew how good Eichel was and didn't want to settle but they were pretty much forced to.
