So you are a victim of what others say or do? Got it. I for one could not care less what other people wear and where they wear what they wear. I made an entire video about the true meaning of the word “class” and how it is a vile word we should no longer use in my opinion. If to you something is, as you say, “very low class”, then all you are demonstrating to me is that you suffer from major inferiority complexes and low self esteem. This is of course just my opinion. But mostly French ladies carry very discreet , neutral color bags by local brands like Sezane, Atelier Auguste, Polene , Leo&Violette and some that I cannot identify .
No LV, , no Gucci, no Fendi- mostly foreigners… sorry
@@billieyoung4027 In France we love bags by brands like Chloe, Stella McCartney, Max Mara, Chanel, APC, Sézane (etc)... France is no exception, naturally. You'll find lots of people wearing bags like that here. I wouldn't say LV is ' low class' but let's say one logo-covered bag in your wardrobe is definitely enough! The French in Paris are definitely more simple and understated and chic...it's not Milan. Milan is OTT to us. Think ...Audrey Tautou maybe? We like the wool sweater, the jeans, the thick draped cashmere scarf, knits, we love knits and cotton. We value quality of life more than brands! We don't like showing off our wealth and do not spend our money on things like cosmetic procedures, botox, artificial nails and products or foods etc. We like greying hair on women and embrace ageing gracefully. There are also significant differences between us and Italians although we share many similarities. The Italians can be more ...vulgar? :P
The Speedy is made like that! It comes folded, it creases, and then it straightens out again. No problem, ever. It is the forever everyday usage bag! Let it get worn - that's the beauty of the Speedy!
I'll be honest - the Speedy is the ONLY LV bag I've ever liked because it's convenient and I can dump stuff into it. So many ppl baby their canvas bags and I can't understand that. LV leather was designed to get worn and look a little raw :)
Hi Dacob, I’m so glad you posted this because I recently purchased a speedy 25 from the Place Vendome boutique in Paris and I’ve been doubting if it was worth it. Because so many TH-camrs are bashing the classic monogram saying it’s so basic and makes you look cheap. I have actually avoided it for the longest time. But I was convinced to buy because your appreciation for the history and quality of the monogram canvas is infectious. LV should really pay you for it haha. This is a reminder for us to just enjoy our own choices and pieces and don’t let others’ opinions bring it down. Cheers!

I got a 35 year old speedy from Japan. The leather was very dry, but I put a lot of work into it: moisturized it for some weeks. The leather got chocolate brown. It looks lovely, you see it’s vintage. And I’m in love with it. The canvas looks still new. I love the old hardware: I cleaned it and it shines. I heard LV changed that detail over the years

I agree the Speedy is classic and I love mine! My lock is put up in a safe place and I also use a tote inside. When I go my granddaughters will inherit my bags, who I know will love them as much as I did.

The Y2K era, you have to remember, was the era of charms. Charms everywhere on everything like Juicy bags, juicy sidekicks with a charm, etc. Charm bracelets from Tiffany. It was the thing. So young girls had to have their little locket dangle like a charm too

I nest my bags too! My favorite thing about a speedy is that you can fold it up inside a suitcase for travel. My monogram S30 is from 2006 and still has its creases!

In terms of care of the canvas, I don’t know why more people don’t know about this, but the Armorall car wipes are superb. They add moisture and sheen without going over the top and are designed for vinyl. I have used them on my Louis Vuitton bags for many many years and they remove so much dirt. This is for the vinyl, only which after all is a plastic coated canvas, not for the vachetta of course.
I have a 1993 Speedy 30 and I adore the beautiful patina and the nice thick quality canvas

I have 2 bag inserts that I use for my on the go. It is fairly light and not from the companies the YTers shill for. For my other bags I use a lot of smaller pouches. I NEVER throw makeup, pen or travel perfume in without it being protected in the case of an accident …

I also love the speedy. I have the 20, 25, 30, and 35. I especially love the vintage French Company Louis Vuitton 40+ years old. It’s definitely a work horse without the worry about the leather because it’s treated so well it like waterproof. Thanks for sharing your great video ❤

I bought a speedy after your video last year. I stuffed it very full for a while and then i purchased a line for the inside, no creases at all. I can’t use mine a lot though because I live in a rainy area, but I still love it so much and can’t wait for dryer weather to wear it.

I remember you getting this bag! The hardware on my speedy bandouliere is tarnishing quite badly and mines only over a year old as well but you know, I kinda love it! I use her almost daily and the wear and tear doesn’t bother me - I have wear and tear too 😂 I’m so glad you’re loving Louella Annabeth as well!

Really like a darker vachetta on the monogram, it’s lovely but with my azur canvas, I like it to stay as pale as possible. I do baby that one I have to say. I like to see the creases in the larger Speedy bags, it’s part of its character, its charm.

Thanks dear. That bag was terrible quality. I had to fight for about a year to get it repaired and ultimately brought back for a voucher. I made a lot of videos back then with all the updates about the repair process and how chanel damaged the bag each time it was sent back for repairs. Terrible. In any case, after a year of battle, I finally got Chanel to give me a voucher which I used towards buying a 2.55 bag instead which I never regretted. 💖💖💖

You can definitely be rough with canvas bags, just avoid vachetta. Use blow dryer to reshape the canvas. Spot remover laundry detergent to clean ink spots on interior and literally dishwasher soap to clean canvas or something like lysol cleaner. All car interior maintenance products works excellent on canvas
I just love the video. You are awesome. I have the Speedy 35 but mine is 8 years old. Bought when it was under 1000 at Louis Vuitton. It really does get better with time as long as you don't baby the bag.
How did I not think about this tote bag lining thing? Am a basic sewer and have made drawstring bags to store my tiaras. If you don’t mind digging through bins, local fabric store where many dressmakers/seamstresses shop, has fantastic remnants ranging in price from 10 cents to 50 cents per piece depending on size. They also sell amazing trim and adornments for cents. The possibilities are endless and will give me something to do during the evil summer in Scottsdale, Arizona.

That's why I ended up having 6 speedys😂( together with a Neverfull that you can fold as well). I carried it thru international flight and traveling cross country. I have to make sure my Alma BB was situated properly but it made a dent on my Cosmetic pouch. I wasn't a big fan of structured bags after that, it must have a little give for me.
The give is part of its beauty. I agree 🥰🌅
Exactly right! I loathe the heavy leather emphasis now, it's impractical. Who wants to lug around a heavy bag?
I wipe the canvas with a baby wipe and you can also use a soft brush to get into the dirt or grime buried in the texture of the canvas (impressions).
If the bag is old, I revive the shine with silicone in the main ingredient of a car upholstery cream.
BUT be ultra careful to not use much, only dab it on and do not get it on the vachetta!
Make sure it's completely dry to the touch before using it, or you will transfer some silicone onto the vachetta, not good!
I also like the Alma in the canvas monogram it's a classic.
BTW if you use the Speedy as a daily bag, then an insert is sensible for organising your stuff IMO.
It's superior as a practical bag. People want to make the simple into something needlessly complex.
I like the use of a tote bag inside this bag, works great! Plus if you are traveling, you can use the tote bag for other things and in situations where maybe you don't want to take the LV with you. I'm not a fan of the inserts in the Speedy's period, I think they take up more space than they need to.

The speedy can take quite a bit of weight but I would still not put super heavy stuff in it like at the same time… but then I wonder, what are the heaviest things we would put in a speedy? In my case it would be my small laptop. Everything else is lighter than that in my roster… and the speedy can take the weight of the laptop easily… at least mine does.

I actually like the creases. That's why I keep it folded. But everyone should do what makes them happy. Also carry without an insert, that's how it should be worn. I like your bag in bag suggestion though.
What do you think of the new Neonoe bb Dacob? It was just released here in Europe last week and six months ago in the US. I think I want to get that bag.😊not many reviews unfortunately.
I like the creases too. I own a noe bb and I prefer it to the neonoe bb… but also gotta say that I have not worn my noe bb… maybe will in the future though… its the open top for me… makes me feel unsafe.

Just a quick question and plz forgive my ignorance, LV is a brand I really know little about. Regarding the Speedy handles- tan colour vs pink leather ? I noticed on the website , the only colour available in the speedy 20-35 monogram & pink leather ! Not sure about sizes too - what size is good for uni/work ? Any help would be really appreciated 😘
Almost forgot , prefer shopping online but is there chance will be sent a bag with defects!
I would only order LV from their online shop of they offer to ship to their shop for pick up. Thats the only way I order from LV because that way the sales associates open the package in front of me when I arrive to the LV shop and if there is anything wrong with the product, they immediately deal with it. It does happen sometimes that the products are not perfectly made or are potentially flawed. Also, people have been reporting their LV packages being stolen on the way to them so this way that is avoided. If the parcel does not arrive to the LV shop, you do het your money back and do not need to prove any third party guilt.
As for the leather, Vachetta is almost fully untreated leather while the other colored leathers have coatings of some sort. They all differ. Quality differs as well depending the color and coating. One needs to evaluate on a case to case basis. 💖💖💖

Glad to know of the folds. I just bought pre loved 35. Zipper was taken out why I bought that one. My hands hurt all the time and very sensitive. So I try not to buy with zippers. It's from the 80's. Great condition. I love her..
Dacub, I don't know if I've missed a couple of your videos. I think you are the most amazing, but my question to you is why is it that on video your LV appears to be upside down... Is it that they are using one piece of canvas now to make bags because all of mine, which are very vintage. Have the LVs aligned in such a way that they are not upside down.... This is not a shady question, again I may have missed a video with you explaining the difference. I also have a vintage French & Company LV Monogram Tote ( it doesnt have the inside tag hence the deal I got): but I'd love you to review the history of its creation... Because even the hardware is so different from the logo intensive bags that are made now.
I’m no LV expert but the speedy has been one piece for decades, Audrey Hepburn’s speedy had the LV upside down..
The speedies’ and keepalls’ main bodies are made of one piece of canvas, with no interruptions, cuts or stitches midway through at the bottom of the bags so that is why on one side the logos are upright and on the other side they are upside down. 🌅💖

If you check a speedy from the 70 and 80s the canvas was better, stronger I find the new ones flimsy.. imo

If you put a barbie bag in the LV bag, why not just carry the Barbie bag? Ditch the LV bag. A $5 barbie bag liner in a premium $2000 bag. Is this luxury? LV should make a more durable interior in their bags. I'm not attacking you in any way ofcourse.
