    I'll never understand why people think they need a set of rules to govern the way the live in their own home. Just be a decent person, keep your home tidy and no one should have any problems.

    Sounds like lowes. I’ve heard that they are a cutthroat organization and upper management would throw a kitten under a bus for a nickel.

    Last story: My brother passed away some years back, and I began receiving dunning mail from multiple debt collection agencies, including State and Federal Revenuers. I lived hundreds of miles away from my brother. Had to ask an attorney to forward letters with copies of Death Certificate, and the content "I'll inform my deceased brother just as soon as I see him again.!!" followed by "If the debt is that urgent, then Go TO Hell.!!" I did get a response from one agent that read in part, "Sorry for your loss. When might we expect full payment, or arrange payment plans?" My attorney showed the correspondence to the local Bar Association.. Lawyers need an injection of humor occasionally.

    I love those stories where a company demands to speak to the account holder who just happens to be dead.

      Yeah, when my husband passed I tried to get our mobile phone account changed to reflect my name. Was told I would have to have his permission to change it right after telling them he had passed. 🤦‍♀️

    HOA Story: you wait to be victimized by HOA. YOU START WITH THE SUPPORT, BACKING AND ADVICE FROM AN ATTORNEY, right from the first HOA contact. How many times does this advice have to be ignored?? (I'm NOT the only source of this common sense.)

      As soon as you come under an HOAs radar you need to lawyer up NOW!!!!

    Why is forcing you to join a HOA" for the good of the community?"
    Property values and aesthetics are trigger words for them as well

    • @CelesteKTheNewWaveRevue
      @CelesteKTheNewWaveRevue หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not. That was just some excuse that Karen was using to force people to join the HOA.

    • @dragonweyr44
      @dragonweyr44 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CelesteKTheNewWaveRevue I know that, but it seems like every single HOA karen uses the exact same script with trying to get people to join whether they want to or not
      Property values, community aesthetics and good of the community, are words that I hear over and over again in HOA horror story videos

    2nd story didn't happen so hard. Expected a "and then when absolutely everyone walked out, they gathered round me, and clapped"
    Also the guy sounds like a bit creepy, moving to another place, refusing to leave his home necause hed be "abandoning his family"? How? You had electricity and food, they were at yours. Just all a bit full on and weird. Maybe its just me

    This sounds like a case in which the judge should of dissolved the HOA, as they falsely claimed property they never had the authority over, from the start.

    I love the malicious compliant story. My friend had a similar problem when her husband died. She cancelled his cell phone. Months later got a letter from a collection agency. No amount of telling then that he had died and the account had been cancelled would work. After more letters she gave up trying to settle this. She noticed a change of address box on a letter and changed it to the cemetery address, plot number and gravestone number. Never heard from them again.

    Per states laws, HOAs can't force non-members into their association against their will. The whole 'automatically a member' has no basis in fact in any state, particularly if the property in question existed prior to the formation of the HOA.

    With the manager who was bound and determined to Make The Company White Again really knew how to make things worse for herself. The company will try to settle and get NDAs so that no one ever talks about it, but the smart route is to ensure that it goes to court, where the papers can report that if Veronica ever gets out of jail, she should never be given a management position, because she WILL drag you into court. (I can only assume that when she was sprinting to her car, she was planning to never return to the store - EVER.)
