It's so interesting to see when it starts it starts clicking for her that she needs to look for the scent and not a can! Very smart girl ^^ and great video too!
@@solkeyia Thank you!! That's one of my favorite parts of training an odor!
I just finished my first scent work class and we were told to only use one Q tip so as not to overwhelm or get them to expect s stronger scent.
That makes sense! I know AKC uses more scent and NACSW tends to use less scent.
@@TheButlerK9s Yes and this group trains for AKC. 😃
So this makes me feel better because my dogs were doing the same things. I had worked with a friend who knows what she is doing and it was much better. Gonna keep trying
You'll get there! It's a lot of fun!
Your pup is beautiful reminds me alot of my Lucille 😊
i have a question. i have some birch tar oil. is that the same as the Birch Essential Oil? it has a strong chemical smell. i havent yet, but i dont wanna use it if thats not good for her
It's not the same. I highly recommend purchasing your oils from places like The K9 Nose or Leerburg. I no longer buy from Amazon.
thank you for the response. great video by the way@@TheButlerK9s
@@qmerk2661 Thank you so much! We love scent work, I hope you enjoy it as well!
Thanks, im sure i will, and i know she sure will! 😁@@TheButlerK9s
Great video, thanks for sharing, just be careful with the essential oils, yes, you did put too much, essential oils by their process are very concentrated, there are some that are ten times more potent than before being made into essential oils, when making soaps for example you only use a few drops to make a batch of 100 soaps, some essential oils even burn to the touch, like clove for example, so imagine if that burns to the touch, dogs having a super sense of smell so many times better than us, than can also be harmful to their sense of smell...
Thank you so much for this info!!
Can u use other essential oils?
@@tashaax1993xanimalloverx I personally would only use oils that are used in scent sports because I know they're safe
Does brich used for drug detection or bomb detection?
@@shaderbily3403 neither, birch is used for sport detection, like AKC and UKC
My gsd takes forever to eat his treats too lol
You don’t know how to do it yet your doing a how to video on this?! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
It's not a how to, it's a video of us doing it, hence advising viewers I don't know what I'm doing...
@@TheButlerK9s I love watching people try things like this out. It's really helpful because sometimes (not always) people who are pros at something forget what beginners don't know. ;)
Be aware
I did not wish to buy this. It did not warn me. Need my money back please.
This is a free video on a free platform
That was WAY too much to use.
