Yes! Anyone who can should. My cat can’t be fixed because she has a severe heart and lung condition that will shorten her life and her cardiologist and many vets have confirmed if she were to have surgery she would die. If she were to get pregnant she would die. So my other cats are fixed.

Now that I’m down to one that hasn’t been fixed yet, she rarely goes into heat and if she does, it’s very short lived. Her meows are very soft so, her looking-for-a-lover yowls are not as bad as the other two’s were. Hoping to get her fixed next month 🙏

It's hard to spay cats when they cost over $500 to get spayed. Why do these vets have to make it more and more expensive every year? If they truly cared about helping cats get fixed then drop the prices for many of us low income people. I have tried to use low income help resources but they have a two cat limit for life. And that is it. No other place helps. I have to let my cat get pregnant just so I can sell the kittens to spay her. Of course I want my cats fixed. But these greedy vets are making it very hard

What I have to say is for ppl who want to get a cat... So to be honest this is not really the way to go sadly if you can not afford to spay your cat don't get one just yet.. Now here is why... Cat's will love you though they may not show it at times unlike dog's, but the love none the less is still there, there for cat's will make you part of there pack rubbing the whiskers which are there glans that put there sent on you.. Long story short folks doing this will only make your cat go to you every single time there in heat also in the end you must understand they might just keep bugging you for more so when you keep doing this there going to keep expecting you to take care of them that way and this way will and can be annoying not only to you but to the cat as well think for a moment if you are out of the house for work or what ever or think of when your on vacation?? My baby had a successful surgery, but she is still recovering. The incision is larger than routine spay. It’s long road to recovery. It’s very hard to keep her calm until her incision heals. NO! Completely wrong! The cat MUST be fixed by a vet or it will lead to an internal infection that causes death. My cat nearly died from this so I speak from experience. As an owner of 25 cats there was no way I was going to do this. Get them spayed and neutered. I got most of them fixed for $25-$63 each. The last 3 I got fixed I spent $500 each because of a death of a cat at the cheap places. $500 each was still worth it! I wish I had spent that much for the 4 mothers who brought these 25 cats into the world. Yes $2,000 would have been worth it too. Believe me. Get them fixed. Until the next stray cat or kitten shows up…..
The prices are way more affordable everywhere but US. I am in a country of Georgia 🇬🇪 now and the price is an equivalent of 1-2 USD, and also you can get it for free if you sign for governmental program. Unfortunately, stray cats is a disaster here, cause of most of citizens are extremely religious Christians and spaying/neutering goes against they religious beliefs.

As an owner of 25 cats there was no way I was going to do this. Get them spayed and neutered. I got most of them fixed for $25-$63 each. The last 3 I got fixed I spent $500 each because of a death of a cat at the cheap places. $500 each was still worth it! I wish I had spent that much for the 4 mothers who brought these 25 cats into the world. Yes $2,000 would have been worth it too. Believe me. Get them fixed. Until the next stray cat or kitten shows up…..

The prices are way more affordable everywhere but US. I am in a country of Georgia 🇬🇪 now and the price is an equivalent of 1-2 USD, and also you can get it for free if you sign for governmental program. Unfortunately, stray cats is a disaster here, cause of most of citizens are extremely religious Christians and spaying/neutering goes against they religious beliefs.

Best way to stop a heat cycle before it happens, get them spaided

Please get your cat fixed. Intact cat will eventually get pyometra and will require a more dangerous surgery. It’s more expensive too. This is a deadly disease. Unspayed cat will get it sooner or later. I wish I knew the seriousness of pyometra early on so I did not wait for my cat to get it. She just had a dangerous surgery and is still recovering.

Neutering is for male cats
Spayed is for female cats
You need to know the difference to be a pet owner.
But he wasn't stopping her heat. He was making her ovulating. Basically doing the same thing thay male cat would do, but without pregnancy.

With 1 hand take them by the scruff of the neck and simply hold them to the ground in place, you don't really need to apply force and obviously your other hand will be holding their back end
Cats have 2 indentations at their tail, 1 either side, just apply pressure in the side they are displaying, it's hard to describe the pressure needed, not to hard obviously but not to soft either
