Anyone knows if two Syma X5C-1 can fly simultaneously, each with its own remote? I know that one transmitter can run two of them simultaneously, but that is not what I care for. I want to know if me and a friend can race them side-by-side.
About 10 years ago I bought an indoor electric heli called the fun piccolo for $300.00. Flew like crap. Now you can get a drone for under sixty bucks that outflies much more expensive toys. This copter is hysterically fun for the price. The camera has sound, but is virtually worthless due to the sound of the props. The instruction manual is laughable. It's full of misspells and grammar mistakes. I'm glad the engineer who made this quad wasn't the same dude who wrote the instructions. Also, there are two versions of this quad. The manual will have a 1 or 2 on it. The only difference is where the camera on/off button is.
Thank you for your video. I was wondering what the wind speed was when testing this product? I'm using a Parrot AR 2.0 (with outdoor hull).. and am having very little luck with it.. I'm in need of a decent upgrade, but I want to stay within my budget..
I've watched tons of your videos and just waiting for a review of the X5C. This was my first quad and I really beat this thing up and it's still flying. Granted I disconnected the some of the lights and even modified the antenna in the quad and controller for greater range. Man keep up the great work. Have you reviewed or do you know of great video of the V303 Seeker?

A few crashes and it still works! ( Indoors as it's winter) Liked how you were enthusiastic and impressed how stable it was. You are very professional, I liked how you were able to let cut out , fall and bring it back in control again. It will give confidence when I take it outside in the spring. Thanks again.
I bought one of these to train on and I got to the point were I could control this perfectly!! But yes it is a very good trainer!!!! I still have fun flying it every now and then! I saw Syma has the new X8 out and I might get one! Camera is ok for what it is. The Syma does record sound also but the motors drown out everything! So if you make a video with it don't even bothers with the sound.
I've been entertaining the thought of buying this same quadcopter as I've never done it before but with practice it looks like a nice video toy for novices. It flew much higher than I expected and it looks fairly easy to conquer. Thanks for giving us the instructional.
ive had some reviews of x5c 1 and some say after a week the propeller wasnt working anymore? what could be the cost of that to happen? and another question is when you get the box, do you have to install the propeller or it goes with it when its already inside the box?

I was wondering if you could make a shorter video (just cutting this one) showing your precision landing in your mobile hanger. Say from 9:18 to the end. I would love to share that with a friend who would be interested in how easy you make it look.
Wow, are good at flying that thing. I don't understand how it's possible to control it when you fly in a circle like that. When you go straight its push left to go left, right to go right, but how the heck do you do circle? I'm an old guy who never played with this sort of thing. Got one on order.
As Sam said above, it's the format that defines flavors of HD. The video can be HD but still be crappy because of a poor quality lens, etc.. HD = High Definition (no of pixels), not High Quality.
dscinaz also the low speed of recording data matters - it is 16 Mbps for the X5C-1 on-board stock camera whilst on popular consumer cameras like GH2 it is 24+ Mbps.
Just opened the package of my new Syma X5S-1 ....very much a rookie flyer .. trying to learn how to keep it from banging into my walls .. going to try to take it to the park this weekend .. any advice for a new subscriber newbie?

+DTCigarFather You need to get away from trees because I caught mine up in one about 50 feet high and only got it down by throwing a lot of big tree branches at it for half an hour. I really thought I'd lost it and was regretting not putting a "if found please phone 999999 for reward" message taped to it. You think you are well away from them but appearances are deceptive. If you think you are getting too near or too high you can cut power and crashland it. The syma is light enough to withstand multiple crashes.
I got one of these and was inspired by your video. I live in Richmond CA. Just powered it up. Which mode would be the best to start? the manual talks about modes 1 & 2. Also, I'm unable to switch between High & Low. When I press the "A" button, the trim changes on the left stick display (bottom left/right) , not changing the H/L. Any ideas. Love your videos Ali! I first bought a "Quadrone Wifi" SYMA X5C type in Nov and lost it right away in tall grass next to the house. So I bought a Quark mini drone and a Spyder Medium sized drone made by Propel sold at Officemax in Hawaii. They had the Quark on sale for $27 so I have 2. Found the X5C which I have crashed and lost a few times. So far have been lucky. I'm new to drones but seems that it's best to learn indoors on a mini drone since you won't lose it. The X5C is great to learn on too and cheap at Gearbest.com. I'm seriously addicted to drones now. It's very exciting. Also I made RC planes as a kid and crashed them so I gave up. But it seems that drones are a great tool to learn to fly RC planes. I'm getting better at flying. Then to upgrade the X5C. Later I will buy a Phantom? Also the racing looks like fun! FPV? Drones are about to explode! I'm giving drones as gifts to teenage cousins. There's nothing more exciting you could do for teaching kids than to introduce them to drones. Get them away from video games! With drones they will learn electronics, engineering and mechanics in the pursuit of flight!

I got mine a few weeks back and one of the motors failed pretty quickly. I am now awaiting replacement parts from the seller. Pretty sure I bumped in a defective one though, or it could be that the lubricant I used when it started acting up killed it? Regardless I managed to fly this even in moderate winds (even though I had to keep pushing into the wind all the time). I also replaced the antennae on both quad and transmitter as they were very tiny bits of metal (not even copper). Now it sports 6.25cm of copper in the quad and 12.5cm in the transmitter and I'll see how it goes when I fly it again. Planning on having fun with this while i build my own.

I think that is the syma x5c-1 because writing on the quad is thicker than on the syma x5c.

Yes, tested. They fly without interference from each other. You can race your friends! It's a good time!
you already got your answer but you can fly up to 4 of these at a time since its a 4 channel drone and it will search for its own channel

I saw them on ebay for less than 60 euros and I thought they would be really junk.... but it actually looks like a fun toy

I don't think so, the drone is extremely light apparently, and as it is quite cheap it may not be able to take off and stuff with the extra weight

In your description you said the manufacturers were lying about the HD video. 720p is still HD it's just not full 1080p HD.

The motors suck. They burn out after a week or so. The propellers come installed, you just put the guards on.

the symas are toy grade more or less so i would not expect to see brushless direct drive motors..
Its looks very easy when you know how to do it;-) i didnt know that its possible todo flips with the camera attached, how do you do that?
Jabar Press the button on the right side and move the aileron or elevator stick in the direction you want to flip, it will do the rest itself

The cam is 1280x720p which is "Standard HD". Full HD is 1920x1080p. It gives surprisingly good footage for a $60 drone camera.

I've had my Syma X5C for well over a year now and haven't had to replace any motors or gears, very dependable, I would recommend this Quad for sure !

I got the exact same one but mine doesn't do tricks when the camera is mounted on it, it's a little too light but it's good for a beginner like me.
