I loved visiting Lipari - really enjoyed the history. I tried out the stinky, sulphuric mud on Vulcano and the hot springs in the sea water - my husband did not enjoy that as I smelled of eggs for a few days😝

We didn’t know about these islands. Have only been to Sicily once at this point. Love the little town in Lipari. We know now to skip the beach and the ride around island. Adorable hotel at your next spot.

No better place to ride on a Vespa for the first time than Italy! Yea, was gonna say that does not look like white sand. Confidence is key! Beautiful view of the volcano. Black sand beach is at least black. Beautiful sunset!

I love Sicily too. My dad was from there and when I was a teenager I went to the family there for 8 months. It was amazing. I came back to South Africa met a Siciliano and got married here. Then we immigrated back to Italy... But we are back in South Africa. My heart remains in Italy... Sicily though. We had an amazing 5yrs there. We often go back on holiday and just tour. It's always amazing. Enjoy yourselves. Love you guys.

I am hooked to your channel! The warm and homely vibes you give off to us (fellow budget travellers) is just irresistible. Looking at your adventures it makes me realise that when planned trips don't turn out the way we intended, there's still a lot to enjoy and experience. Kudos and keep up the good work. Maybe someday we bump against each other while exploring a quaint town somewhere around the world. And yes! The spanish "vibes" of Vulcano sound a bit strange to me but it's true who vibes are linked to memories, travels etc, so it's something personal; I hope Sicily liked you despite the oppressive heat of this summer, enjoy your stay in Italy (sorry for "eng", I hope you understand).
PS Cantina is a italian word and it means "where to store the wine", later in Spain and Latin America assumed the Cafè, Bar etc meaning.

    • @captainufo4587

Not really. Volcano derives from Vulcano, indeed, but that was the latin name of the ellenic god Hephaestus, god of fire, blacksmiths, metallurgy and that sort of things. The island, like volcanoes, is named Vulcano after the god, which according o Greek mithology, lived there.

In Italy gas is expensive overall, but in this specific place there are two factors to consider
      1) Special transportation which is an extra cost
      2) Being the only gas station in the island means that the owner has a monopoly

Now if these scooters would just kindly stop breaking down at the most inconvenient time that would be great 😂 We've also had quite a few tire punctures and broken ignitions at the worst times and having to push your scooter through heavy rain isn't a lot of fun 😃
Btw - congrats on the 10k guys, keep it up! 🙏
