That's the tone of a man who just saw firsthand how far the student he consistently put down in season 1 has come. Aizawa must be really proud of that kid.

And making Aizawa really he was wrong about Izuku not having what it took to be a hero just because he couldn't control One For All at first, given the one thing Izuku has always had that makes him a great hero... is his heart, the one thing that matters just as much as control of your powers or the wisdom to use them.
@@BryonYoungblood He saw it with the baseball throw and knew the potential was there after that. Your heart is nothing if you're too incompetent to do the job.
If only Aizawa knew about Deku having One For All at that time of the physical exam, then he would have maybe been at least a little understanding of the immense power Deku had, since neither him or the entirety of Class 1A, except for Aoyama, understood what it’s like growing up without a quirk.
Aizawa wasn't being mean. Harsh but had a point. He didn't know about OFA and wanted to root out the ones who didn't take the job seriously.
Notice that his tears increased after Deku’s speech. That ain’t just dry eye. He’s legit moved.
It shows he was wrong to not fully see Izuku's potential early on just because he couldn't control One For All fully. Sure, he may have tough love, but he's also seen what can happen when you underestimate the potential in someone due to your concerns.

I said it before, I'll say it again... I do love this scene not just because of the epicness of Izuku and Katsuki saving Aizawa from being killed by Tomura, but how Aizawa starts to realize he underestimated Izuku too much just because he couldn't control One For All, yet seeing him throw down even as risky as it was to protect him because Class 1-A still needed him to guide them just makes him see how he was wrong about what he initially thought of regarding Izuku.
Na, I think he always saw potential in Izuku. If not, he would've just sent him home. He noticed the power was similar to All Might's and probably wanted to ensure that he knew how much work it would be to replace him.
@@thrilla72 I dunno, I see it as Aizawa fearful Izuku would get himself or someone else killed considering he had that guilt over his friend’s death and trying to push his students to be their best and he didn’t feel Izuku had what it took, and that led to underestimating him.

I see him as more of a dedicated educator. He cares for his student, but he does have some professional distance.
@@Quinntus79 The reason a lot of the fandom thinks of him more of a dad is because of the lengths he goes to protect his students going past being a teacher or even a pro hero he just truly loves his kids
Never has there been an anime where I admired so many of the characters like it's so difficult to dislike any of them

@@thund3r94 you need to rewatch naruto if that was your takeaway from jiraiya. I can only think of like one scene where mineta is there interacting with people and he isnt being a perv. Jiraiya has a lot of those moments but thats not his whole schtick
So nice that there's a scene in mha where one of the best students appreciates all the things that his teacher has been doing for his students so far. Being teacher can be very stressful sometimes. And some might not be qualified to be one. But eraser head is definitely teacher material🤝
The fact that Deku acknowledges Aizawa was just trying to keep him safe when he said that. Deku doesn’t hold that moment against him, instead he sees it as proof his teacher has always cared.💛
It's also more emotional when you realize that Aizawa probably saw a number of his own students die in the past because they weren't ready and he was worried that the same fate would befall Midorya, which is why he was so hard on him
@@jetzul712 I always felt it was his own guilty conscience about losing his friend that made him like that too, and how he may have blamed himself for it, even if it wasn't his fault.
Deku is just going to give his all to save everyone and everything, even if it'll take everything he's got.
It's why he's a great hero-- the strength of his heart, even when he is in doubt, allows him to push himself to do whatever it takes to be able to save everyone he can _AND_ to save the day, even if he will also put himself at risk doing so.
Midoriya and Bakugo: YOU WILL NOT TAKE AWAY OUR DADZAWA!
Aizawa was hard on Deku in the first season but he had a point, Deku himself admitted that much. If you want to save people you need to be able to look after yourself first so you have a chance at saving them, if your severely injured and barely able to stand your just gonna get yourself killed along with the people your trying to save. It’s a lesson that Deku learned the hard way from seasons 1 - 3. No this, this the shock of a teacher realising that his student who had the least control of his quirk, now has the strength and stubborn determination to risk everything to protect him, mirroring how Aizawa had previously protected class 1-A up until that point. It’s an amazing moment between teacher and student
The next arc is gonna be CRAZY I don't even know what happens 😭

I'd say you've proven yourself to Mr. Aizawa, Deku. Then again, your whole class has surpassed his expectations as well.
I love how Aizawa underestimates Isuzu and that I think that Aizawa was humbled that Izuku said those things about him.
Instantly prefer the dub because of the unique tones to everyone and VA's recognizable.

I def love how how character developed from fan boy to hero. And you can see how his ideals almost destroyed him. I will say the VA and his relationship with his classmates elevate his character.

This is why fanfics that explore their dynamic are my favorite. They just have SUCH a good relationship it’s so sweet!! I hope we get more down to earth/heartwarming moments between them before the series ends because there’s not enough of it!!

@@johnnyd3158 not 100% sure about breaking bad since I haven’t watched it but I think with Avatar TLA it’s more acceptable as Aang may had learned how to use all elements but he hadn’t become a fully realised avatar in my opinion. The show was aiming at showing that there was absolutely no time. MHA on the other hand has no excuse 😂
@@joseph.o9995 Well, Aang had actually become a fully realized Avatar by the end of the series, as inferred by the title of the last episode, Avatar Aang, in comparison to the title of the first episode, the Boy in the Iceberg.
As it helped that Aang was a prodigy in his own right when mastering the elements. Since he was the youngest Airbender in the history of the Avatar world to become a master Airbender (although it really bugged me even when I was a kid that somehow Katara exceeded Aang in Waterbending in practically becoming a master in her own right within a short amount of time despite establishing beforehand that Aang had a knack for Waterbending, as I don't buy into the idea of Aang goofing off during his entire time in the North Pole, as I would have preferred Aang and Katara teaching and learning Waterbending from one another during their journey together).
In addition, Aang was one of the few Avatars to master certain bending skills including seismic sense and Energybending, as well as being one of three people to master lightning redirection at the time of him learning the skill.
So yeah, my boy Aang is a beast of a fully realized Avatar in being able to master all four elements, as well as other bending skills, all in less than a year.
Just as with Deku mastering the seven quirks of One For All in less than a year as well, lol.
can we appreciate how far deku has grown in terms of speed. like sure he’s gotten a lot stronger, but in season 2, deku wasn’t able to keep pace with gran turino but now he’s casually out running him from further away

Actually those are not his tears, that is Manual's quirk keeping his eyes from drying out (keeping them hydrated) since Aizawa is using Erasure for a longer period of time against Tomura.
They're not his tears; its the guy pointing his finger at Aizawa that's providing a constant supply of water to hydrate his eyes

I don't get why he cares for Aizawa he was such a jerk and still somewhat is sure in some ways he is better then most other pros in other ways he is as warped as them
Aizawa was mean to him *one time* and it was specifically a lesson to get Deku to not leave himself worthless after using his quirk once. Other than that, Aizawa is just strict but he’s saved Deku’s life on more than one occasion

@@zeokingsilver Deku is constantly breaking the rules but for good reasons. “Problem child” is a jab at that. And he called him that while agreeing to go on a mission and letting Deku participate to make sure he could protect Deku. And the only 2 times he’s lied have been in order to push his students to be the best versions of himself. He has nothing but the best intentions in mind for his students. You would have to intentionally misunderstand him at this point to think it’s weird that his students care for him or think he’s warped like some heroes who aren’t in it for the right reason.

Stellar voice acting from Justin Briner.
He's always been great as Izuku, that's for sure! But some of the more serious moments like here, or when Izuku made his declaration to Chisaki/Overhaul when wanting to save Eri (even when Izuku was feeling bothered by Sir Nighteye telling him Mirio should have gained One For All, even as Mirio was breaking down from his wounds, seeing Sir Nighteye getting ripped apart _AND_ losing his Quirk on top of it making him collapse even as hard as he tried to protect Eri) or other great moments in the series. :)
He made this arc so exciting for me, instead of just looking forward to the next episode, I was also looking forward to deku's lines, and man did Justin deliver

Keep in mind, moments later the dude broke his entire body from overusing his power to protect everyone. He still kept fighting even when he couldn't stand up, Deku just straight says "no" to his own body and shoots Blackwhip from his freakin' mouth. Dude really should be the new All might by now.
That's what makes Izuku so great-- even if his body is broken, he will do whatever it takes to protect people. That's why he has the heart of a hero.

That's why I think so many people like this character, but I just find it kind of funny that it probably isn't super realistic, and that's the fun about it

I like Izuku too because of how far he's willing to go to save people-- it shows how he's really committed to being a great hero that he'll break his body every way to Sunday to do it. He showed it when he first used One For All to save Ochako in the entrance exam, as well as busting himself fighting Muscular to save Kota in the training camp arc, even mentally pushing himself to his limits with One For All to win. It reminds me of the line "For a true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart." from Disney's Hercules when Herc risks so much to save Megara.

So it's a safe bet to say you're pretty passionate about stuff like this? That's pretty cool. I feel like some people would call that cringe or something, but maybe it's not entirely bad to be passionate about a series or show or movie. Maybe it's not such a bad thing to look up to characters, as opposed to real people. As long as you can tell the difference between a real person and a character, you're good.

It’s hilarious that, despite MHA having access to ‘all the funds’ in terms of Anime budget - thanks to being a global franchise, not to mention the movies.
All that considered, and one of the biggest, most anticipated fights in the story, gets relegated to 3 minutes, minimal sakuga and of course, cutting away to see what the rest of the class are doing 😂
MHA is for children, which sucks, because the story is pretty great, somewhere underneath all that.
Deku is literally what probably gohan would have become if they followed the story with him
