- Chesterfield, Pa., utilities worker Calvin Godette has been gifting strangers - buying them coffee, groceries or gas - without thinking about much in return. A few months ago, he spotted a woman behind him at a fast-food drive-through who seemed sad, and decided he'd pay for her order. His generosity inspired the recently-widowed Denise Walters to further acts of kindness. Correspondent Steve Hartman reports.

Awesome story. One day while visiting Disneyland with my sister and her husband I had two extra tickets and told her to pick out somebody in the ticket line to give them a free day at the park. She found a young guy and gal and they were thrilled. What happened next was unexpected. He turned out to be a soldier on leave, and they were spending all their spare money, on their wedding anniversary, for a day at Disneyland. Almost in tears, they told us that by giving them free tickets they could now go celebrate with a nice dinner as well. I don't remember what rides we shared, but my Sister and I will never forget that day and that happy couple.
This brings hope to America

For those reading this that don't have money to do what they've done, sometimes just saying good morning or offering to help unload the groceries from the cart at the register for a senior or busy mom can mean a lot.
If more humans helped each other, the world would be a better place. I see too much evil in the world there is no need for it. Calvin deserves to win the lottery so he can continue his mission.
It’s so true. I had just lost my wonderful husband to a heart attack and sold the house and moved out of state. I was having a hard time pulling into Starbucks to get coffee as my husband and I used to do almost in a daily basis. The person in front of me treated me to a coffee. It meant the world to me and felt comforted when I needed it lost. Thank you to whomever you were.

Loss of her husband, she made a list of people she knew that had it worse than her. And she set off to help them. It lifted her, and it lifted them…❤

It happened to us on the Algiers ferry. I got to talking after we parked the car and waited for the ferry to cross over and let everyone drive off, so that we could drive on. The gentleman and his wife, not far from us, well, we started chatting. The rule is: as you drive onto the ferry you pay the fee. It isn't much, but when we drove onto the ferry and reached for our wallets the crew member said, "Oh, that's ok, you're good. That guy and his wife paid your fare.." Such small acts of kindness can ripple and grow....
