I CAN"T be the only one who thinks the purpose of this bill is actually just in preparation for the next Jan 6! I think they're not only trying to make it easier on repeat offenders, they also want to make it impossible for any legal adjustment once they (hopefully) lose power. I think most people convicted for that got a slap on the wrist sentence (less than even 6 months) so they're trying to signal "we still want you to fight, so we'll try to help you".
