That would be true if this was Vanila. In this case however, bringing Wolt, or really any archer is a good idea. As bow users with Murgleis being some of the few units who can double Iduun.

I find the ending anti-climatic in the original game needing only 1 attack with the binding blade. It would've been cool if the boss also have capability of regenerating its hp so the fight last longer
Yeah but at the same time, Idunn was supposed to be weak for a very good reason. I think this ending fits fe6 pretty well. After all the trouble, all the fights, you finally get rewarded with the satisfaction of giving Idunn a second chance.
Actually, she was supposed to wield a weapon called "Demon Dragonstone". It gave such a stupidly high stat boost that the only thing that could deal ANY notable damage was the Binding Blade. Nothing else worked for more than minor damage.
@@lillrice27 The rest of the game is like 4 chapters and you're still using a Level 1 recently promoted unit in a sea of level 10+ promoted units. I say give him the Ike treatment, make it unbreakable but maybe nerf it a bit. If Ike doesn't need to wield anything any more than Ragnell once he gets it, so should Roy.
I think the best way for it to improve is to add more enemies from the start, not just as new reinforcements, but more enemies from the start with the same small final map, that way, it won't be easy to just cheese through
I think the problems with this chapter (and the previous one) is that the only enemy "Dragons" you've been fighting (since Chapter 12) are the same class, Manaketes with 1 Range and no variety whatsoever. Wish there's more classes of Dragons than just the regular Fire one. Ice Dragons and even Wyverns from Fe12. As for the enemies blocking the way to Idun so as she wouldn't get 1-Turned, wouldn't it be a stretch to fight something like Generals? Manaketes turned human and wearing human armor to fight, or Wyvern Lords, turned human and fighting alongside their breathen.
If a binding blade remake ever comes out, they should give Idun 1000 hp or something. (There will probably be plenty of ridiculous skills and stuff to dish out a lot of damage anyways)
@@DiogoJ1 That would be gamebreaking because the Divine Weapons only has 15 Might. Gonzalez's MAX Strength is 30 and MAX Damage is 45. If you reduced that further, Gonzalez becomes a bad unit. Only Sophia and Lilina can dish out damage using Magic.

So from what I understand, Idunn was originally going to be extremely hard. Anything other than the Binding Blade couldn't even hurt her, and if the player broke it early on, it would be near impossible to win without GameShark codes. Not to mention dark breath was a one hit kill on all but the toughest units. Ultimately, the developers ended up gutting her into the state we now know.
@Aisubun wasn't it just getting all the weapons from the scouring? It wasn't that hard. Blazing sword is harder because it can only be achieved in Hector mode.
Mannnn I miss the attack animations of the old fire emblem games. Especially the magic attacks. The newer games, even heroes, have sucky attack animations.. they should take a page from their older games.
My problem with the animations is that they are too damn quick. I wanna be able to enjoy the music because the original songs made for heroes are so freaking good (especially the boss themes) but you never hear them for longer then a second because you pretty much destroy them in one hit.
Or a throne, three healthbars, and a siege attack as well as a 1-5 range attack. Or a move that disables your strongest options and puts them on cooldown instantly.
Idunn used to have a dragonstone, but they removed it because then, if the Sword of Seals broke, you basically couldn't win. (Which could be solved by simply giving it endless uses like every other personal weapon in the series.)

@@borby4584 From what I'm seeing, in this video. Idun can't attack at 2 range. That might be the reason. I've mad Iduun capable of 1-2 range, but the one behind that hack didn't.
In FE 6, everything is the shit. Each new map is much more difficult than the last one. In Radiant Dawn, you are basically fighting an army with no end.
That reminds me, now that I have FEbuilder, I probably should be able to turn off reinforcements and probably make enemies appear from the get-go of the chapter.

(For instance, a good unit kills enemies and has good growths, so naturally, they will level up. Should that be considered "investment" when the unit is doing what he should be doing?)

Ambush Spawns are everywhere and you have to rush to the throne before the reinforcements overwhelm you. The Maps on FE6 is so non-linear its difficult to navigate the terrain and the survivability of the trainees are just too slim and also there is a unit limit on each chapter so you will only have to train ONE trainee to boot.
Firstly: why are you using Sophia and Wolt? Secondly: Idunn isn't supposed to be a typical final boss. I think you're missing the point of the story that's trying to be told here. Idunn is only acting on Zephiel's will, and she doesn't know what to do on her own besides trying to stop them. If anything Zephiel is the true climactic encounter. He's the one who started everything and the one who the heroes need to take down. Making her into a more challenging fight is fine, but claiming "this is how a final boss should be" is kind of presumptious.

Zephiel also gets only 1 additional hp on hard mode.
It's since hard mode enemy bonuses are based on class growths, and the dark dragon and king classes have 0% in all stats except HP which is 10%.

I think we should thank Athos, because his stats and his unbreakable Forblaze allowed IS to make a super-tanky final boss in Blazing Sword
