Great information given there pal, it will help me a lot when I come to wire mine up. When are you going to do a full tour? 👍
thanks Dave. I'll be using this video to fit an on off switch to my heater and my compressor fridge now. Plus I'll get some usbs (which I really DO need) and fit them. Was also good to see your young padewan again and you and your lass looked like you had fun making the video. Much respect as always- Kenny
Hi Kenny. Cheers chap, glad it came across well enough. I did watch it back a few times before uploading, thinking will people understand this.
Yes she enjoys being in the videos. She's got her own little channel she's started doing some videos on 🤣🤣

That's great you are getting offers for money to help people with their vans, that's really good positive feedback, well done.
It is indeed, unfortunately, its not something I want to get involved with, hence why i made this video.
Thank you for watching
Hi m8 great video your a man full of knowledge awesome buddy and your mini me helper 🤘🤘🏴🏴🏴
Hey buddy, cheers, hopefully it will be a video of some use to some.
Thanks for watching pal.
Great and informative video there Dave. Loving the vansexual ❤❤
Thanks so much arielle, hopefully it will help someone out.
Great video to help people out Dave! 👍 It's always better when its simplified right in front of you by someone 😂

Brilliantly explained pal! 👏👏
Thank you kindly chap 🙏
Great vid Dave, and nice to see you today.. cheers JP 👍🏻
Great to see you to fella. Look forward to you joining us on a camp chap
Looking forward to it too bud, fantastic 😊
Those solder connectors are brilliant.. I always put a bit of shrink over it as well for good measure 👍🏻
Still never used them, I've always preferred duraseals but I think on some next electrical work. I'll give them a chance.
Thanks for watching 👀
Well explained that mate.
Kept it simple.
Cheers 👍🏻
Cheers John, if it's simple then more people should understand
Very informative video, this will help some beginners out if their looking to convert their own van.
Thanks Steve, appreciate the feedback chap
Another great video Dave 👍🏻 very informative indeed. Hopefully will help a lot of us who haven’t a clue.
ATB Russ
Thanks Russ, hopefully it will indeed.
Thanks for watching
Dave
Another great informative video Roberts. I was surprised how simple it is to add all the 12v stuff in.
Funnily enough our cool box plug decided to melt whilst we were driving 😂😂💨 I'm hoping it had smashed and i didn't notice it before plugging in otherwise it means the 12v outlet was the fault. Good old van life ay.
Catch you next time 👍🏻
Hi Dave, just subscribed - came from Brendan explores where you helped him fit a diesel heater (whereabouts are you?).. Really helpful video this, and its given me a bit more confidence in my build.. thanks mate
Hey, thanks so much.
Yes, electrics is quite enjoyable once you get your head round the basics, on the different ways of wiring consumers.
That was very well explained, mate, even my wife said she understood that. Haha shame she doesn't understand how to turn the dishwasher on. Can you do a video on that 🤣
Brilliant mate 🤣🤣 show her who is boss 🤣🤣
Thanks mate. Electrics is quite fun when you can understand the basics.
🤣 this cracked me up 🤣 class
Those jump starters are awesome. I have a Noco which is the same thing...... invaluable in my opinion.
They're defo a great bit of kit. Especially for the size of them.
@@DaveOutdoors Yes mate. I keep mine in the glovebox 😁
The wiring explanation was quite interesting and what you explained was easy to follow. Was there a reason for different colour connectors to your fuse box some where blue and others red. Also how would i know what size fuse to use for each switch or plug or light.
No reason for the different colour terminals, stock levels were depleting and it was what I could get my hands on 🤣🤣
As for fuse rating, couple if ways, depending on how savvy you are with electrics.
1st step, simple Watts law calculation,
If you know the wattage of your consumer, let's say a ceiling light, which is 60 Watts, and 12.6 Volts.
60 Watts ÷ 12 volts = 5 Amps
(Look on Google for the Watts law triangle)
So we know it's 5 amps flowing through the circuit, always add 10% onto that, so that gives us 5.5
Always then fit the next bigger fuse available, so would be a 7.5 amp fuse.
2nd way,
Put a multimeter in series to the circuit and take a reading of the current flow and add 10%
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the reply it was most useful. I have screenshot it so I have it for future reference 👍
Not getting back out filming anything in the tent anytime soon mate?
Dave what's the name ov the consumer unit you used
If you go onto ebay and type in plug and play campervan 240v kit, it will come up 🤙
Dave, I was just wondering are you coming back to you tube ?
Hi there - yes I will be, I will finally have a video out next week as to the reason why there's been no video for 7 weeks.
Have a good week
Dave
@@DaveOutdoors good , myself and husband have been wondering as to where you have been , we will look forward to your return
@joaniejones5114 aw thanks so much. I've been out on a few adventures, which you will see next weekend, but the main point of the video is to my whereabouts.
I though you were using the Bluetti thing.
I will be for additional power,
You are running all your luxury items off of the vans battery? No wonder it's flat, I would have used those Eco flow batteries for the additional equipment myself. I wouldn't want to risk being stuck in the middle of nowhere...
Vans battery? No, I have a leisure battery.
The vans battery is almost flat because of a drain somewhere from the vehicles systems. Not anything to do with the van 👍
