Bin ein 73 er Baujahr und daher waren die 80er und besonders die Zeit 85-89 meine Metal Götter SODOM :-) Natürlich alles was so in jener Zeit heraus kam und es kam viel geiles Zeug raus. Ja und nun schaue ich zurück und sage nur. Ich bin dankbar dafür das ich es in Echtzeit erleben durfte. Die Doku ist für mich eine Zeitreise mit wirklich tollen Erinnerungen. Egal wer dort redet ich fühle die Momente 1:1 mit. Ich habe sogar noch eine Original Kassette mit der Scheibe Agent Orange drauf . Die Kassette ist genau so alt wie die Scheibe :-). Ein Freund von mir hatte immer die neusten Metal Scheiben und für mich war es ein muss die neuste Strom-Gitarren Musik zu hören. Danke Tom und alle anderen die Musikgeschichte geschrieben haben
My former boss made the lp cover for the first Sodom record. Tom has been in our shop a few times while I worked there. The world is a village, as we say here in Germany.
That was kind of a dick move by Frank to leave the band 3 weeks before their European tour with Sepultura. I mean, I can understand wanting to get out of a band you're not feeling comfortable in before things get any worse than they are, but if you've got a big tour coming up, don't wait until there's only precious time for the band to find a replacement for you to bail out. Either leave sooner than that, or honor the tour and leave when it's done. I'll never understand what it is with band members choosing to leave the band they're in right before big and/or important tours, that just adds more drama and it creates bad relationships with your (former) band mates. Especially considering he immediately jumped ship to Kreator, who was about to go on a longer tour than Sodom, that's just scummy. I still love Frank as a guitar player and his contributions to Sodom can't be undermined, but that was a really crappy move on his part.
+Brenden L'estrange he was in Kreator for 3 albums post Sodom, two were part of their shitty experimental period (Renewal and Cause For Conflict) but since the 3rd was Coma Of Souls, that cancels those two out :)
Met Blackfire at one of the Kreator shows and he is kinda of a dick so not surprised there. Actually other people much greater than him have been much nicer, example: Lemmy, Dio, Dimebag, even Peter Steele.
Without Frank they wouldn't be where they are now. He did a lot of good for the band, that is Sodom's win. Him leaving was at a bad moment, but they worked it out. And gave them the oppertunity to change sound with "Better of dead". In the end it worked out just fine for Sodom.

I won Obsessed by Cruelty, and remember thinking, "wtf is this, these guys can't even play but they look cool". I didn't realize, it was a new age of metal. R.I.P. Chris.

51 hier. Erster Annährungsversuch war die Cruelty. Ausgerechnet die Cruelty. Fand die damals 1985 unhörbar schrecklich. Aber das hat den Reiz ausgemacht. Dagegen war die 'Black Metal' oder die 'At War with Satan' Popmusik. Und dann kamen Possessed mit 'Seven Churches' - meine Fresse, geile Zeit. 😉
