Thomas you are the best car critic ever! Congratulations for you and the rest of the stuff providing us those videos! Very good looking car by the way!!
Superb overview of the new Compass Thomas. Yes, spotted the different model in the line up. What a great looking vehicle. A petrol version would be of interest to me.
Great review Thomas ! *Like the Nessie detail on the back window* :-3 The snow and mud modes could come in handy here in Luxembourg in winter ; my favorite color is definitely dark red one without the dark contrast (it looks a bit weird I think) ; hill descent control sounds like an interesting feature too for off-road (and adventurer !) driving.
Another first class review Thomas, but i would like your opinion regarding the Compass model. Would it be suitable for myself to drive. Im an old age pensioner, sprightly i may add for my age.lol. I mostly drive locally in a small town, but occasionally drive on a motorrway every now and again. So my question to yourself is, would it be suitable to my needs, as both my wife and i need an Suv.or a Cuv.type car, as it's easier for us to enter in and out the vehicle. Thanks in advance for you advice.👍
Excellent in depth review. Thank you. This is a genuine off roader that will be on my very shortlist. Will have to wait for the trailhawk version to be available in the UK. Limited version is good value.
Over here in the states, but know that I get such a complete review watching Autogefuhl! Always good and complete!. Nessie on back window, a geicko other places, a sneaky snake, yep all good with me. Great comparison with Limited and T Hawk!!👍👍 no, I knew it was aCherokee! Lol. But Thomas, I retired from FCA. 👍👍👍
Entertaining video! Sorry Thomas, I prefer the smoother front of the Trailhawk, its fancy transmission and its better clearance. If you're getting a Jeep, you might as well get the real thing! And the 'City Front' has a gaping open mouth. Quite liked the light coloured interior and contrasting light and dark coloured dash of your first test car. Quite well equipped, but no HUD? Strange about the ACC - useful, but is there a potential driver-error danger to have both types of cruise on the same car - confusion/forgetfulness - you think it's going to slow but one time it doesn't! Many thanks Thomas.
I wasn't scared because I've already been listening to you!! Haha!! Beautiful car!! It really stands out of the plethora of other midsize SUVs!! And the small detail of the Loch Ness monster (just like the ''Ciao Baby'' written inside the fuel filler cap and the small Renegade painted on the edge of the front windscreen and shown climbing it, both in the Renegade!) makes it more family-friendly! Kids would love these details on these 2 cars!! I've also noticed that they changed the gear lever design after the dramatic moment with Anton Yelchin! Good, even though the old gear lever looked better, but this is more practical! So this is good news! And something else, too: will there be a Patriot now???
There is no real gear reduction, in normal mode the transmission is starting the car on 2nd gear and in low gear the 1st gear is used. You can test it when you put in 1st gear manually and compare the speed with engaged low gear.
It sucks how my 2017 grand Cherokee doesn't have the new uconnect software. I really want the pinch zoom feature. I would've paid extra for that and apple CarPlay.
Excellent review from the Autogefühl team. As always providing a very in depth look at every aspect of the car. I definitely prefer the trailhawk version with the extra ground clearance and no shiny chrome. Also, I did noticed right away the white Cherokee.
I am in love with this Baby Grand Cherokee. As soon as it launches in India.. I am gonna book a test drive.. and great review by the way Thomas as always.. Am ur biggest indian fan. however i feel that the shiny plastic around the touchscreen feels cheap.. Love ur work
Hi i am just surprised the Cabin noise so high. Is it really that disturbing or is a quite cabin ?? Let me know. as i am planning to buy a Trailhawk as it will be launched in India.
Good Save at 24-40, i thought you had made a mistake , buy NO you were awake to it. thomas Blue or the Saphire blue are two colors i'd choose, If i can't afford a STELVIO, this is an option to consider.
I don't know why you do all these videos in English though you are a German guy. Hey why am I posting this comment in English, too🤔😅 Thomas very nice! We sold both BMW's and bought two Compass Limited 170 HP Benzin. Not because the President claimed " so many German cars in USA, so less US Cars in Germany" but we wanted to get rid of the Snop image and the big problems of our German cars! We are very happy with the Jeeps and have so much fun. 5 Star at the actual crash test is very good and the handling of the car is fantastic. Also looks like a small Grand Cherokee. All the best to you and Greetings, Michael

Interesting comment on where you put your thumbs when off road driving .. when you mention the lack of feel in modern electric steering, how then have manufacturers not considered a safety aspect for off road use, as to not dislocate thumbs 🤔 So could you do some more in depth steering geometry in a review, so we understand how exactly we are connected from steering to road wheels ?
Great review as usual, thank you Thomas and Autogefühl team. Yes, I noticed the difference of the rear between the Cherokee and the Compass. I am, as others, "damaged by profession" and I look at many details which normal buyers will never look at (squeakiness of sun visor, reflection, tension, compression in windshield, mismatch of paint between plastic, metal surfaces etc.)... and I saw some Range Rover / Toyota GT86 in the tail light section of the Compass so I was surprised to see the more Kia Sportage rear of the Cherokee :) I like the front of the Trailhawk better, partly also due to the approach angle and the footholes. Yes, the less leather inside, the more attractive it is to me. Having that said, I am not an SUV person, regardless of the manufacturer.
thanks for the feedback! Seems we also share another passion, looking at your helmet! I hope you checked out the fan meeting already: goo.gl/forms/EOQun7oxekRcFhBE3
+Autogefühl indeed, cycling is also one of my passions apart from cars. This time I will unfortunately not be able to make it to the fan meeting as it collided with other things. I am happy that it takes place and that the Autostadt is used as gathering point - great setup!
I am sad to say that this time I will miss the meet (sad panda face) due to clashing things. Looking very much forward to how it went. I am sure it will be EPIC! Good luck and have fun. Very glad to see though that the Audostadt will be the home base, that is a good place for this event. Here is a pitch for you if you like the two wheeled iron horses. We can start a new channel - "Zweiradgefühl"where we can review all kinds of bikes, (from road bicycles to super-motos) including the link to the cars, such as trailers and roof mounted racks :)
Well done video! Absolutely wildly in love with my TrailHawk! Not nearly as refined as my wife's Grand Cherokee but quite capable, especially in the AWD department.
Nice review! My Renegade 1.4 170PS with 9 speed will not shift to the 9th gear. The big question is will the Compass with the same engine and AT9 gearbox ever see the 9th gear??
Unfortunately not. I know the trail hawk and diesel will, but the petrol engine is not strong enough. I can manually force it to 9th gear but the gear selector light will immediately tell me to shift down, even doing 160 on the German motorway... Grüsse aus Amsterdam
jjobar I've read that the 9th gear kicks in at 85 mph. A bit ridiculous , if you ask me.....you'll get better mileage at that speed, but risk a speeding ticket!

Asher Isn't 160 kph 100 mph? He says that his car don't shift to ninth even doing 160.
Hello Thomas, I liked the video. I live in Mumbai and i have booked one Petrol Version Automatic. This is a made in India Compass with Fiat Engine and Right hand Drive. What do you think about 1.4 petrol Automatic Fiat Engine ? When you say petrol engine consumes more fuel, how many KMs can i drive per litre of petrol ?
Do European Compass Trailhawks not get the signature red tow hooks at all? That would be unfortunate! Impressive review as always, Thomas. Great to see a European perspective on these cars.
Don’t buy the 1.4 petrol version. The engine is just too small for such a heavy car and it really struggles. The automatic gearbox is terrible too and is very slow to change up the gears and as a result the engine is constantly over-revving and only achieves 28mpg.
Well I own a Jeep Compass. The Dash board lighting does not auto turn off at night. If you are able to shut it off it has a great chance of coming back on. I have a case going on one now. My Jeep will not be in my hands for they say 45 days as the Programers figure a way to fix this issue. Until this is fixed I can not recommend this Vehicle!

I just finished the Interieur part of the review. the only think that jumped my mind nearly every 10-20 sec was: why in the world would i spend 25k on that car when i can easily get an Ateca or Kodiaq or later on a Karoq for the same amount of Money or even less???? i mean come on e.g. that arm rest is a big joke .... i drove a Grand Cherokee as a rental car once. I was definitely expecting way more from Jeep, even on this kind of budget. However it is still WAY more attractive than a Fiat 500 >.

Nice review.....but all these ICE cars are just boring !! Feels so old...
Just bought a used Trailhawk. Very informative
Enjoy 😊
Jeeps have some of the most solid closing doors out there. Very impressive.
Thomas you are the best car critic ever! Congratulations for you and the rest of the stuff providing us those videos! Very good looking car by the way!!
love to hear that, spread the word for us!
Great review, love the Trailhawk version. Pretty unique car in its segment.
The best and most in detail review about this nice little car. Dank ans Team und auch an Thomas, der das Ganze sehr sachlich und sympathisch umsetzt.
Vielen Dank, empfehle uns gerne weiter !
Superb overview of the new Compass Thomas. Yes, spotted the different model in the line up. What a great looking vehicle. A petrol version would be of interest to me.
thanks andrew!
I would call it an honest review. The review is presented in such a way that I feel like I am in the car. Great job!

The best review, thanks !
thanks carlos!
Lord! You jumped out so suddenly that I frightened!😀
that was epic!

Thomas is by far the funniest person that I've seen so far.
enjoy =)
What, in life, ever??
@@richscrinsonphonegg8842 had more fun with your mum in bed last night, but Thomas is still a mor fun person to watch on yt
Overall I like it, not a fan of the squared-off wheel arches as the gaps are awkward, also makes the wheels look lost.
Really like this. Hope it sells well in Europe.
It's actually selling pretty well in Europe. Jeep is having a positive trend, mainly thanks to this model
Its selling double the numbers of XC40 and most premium small SUVs 😂😂😂😂
Hope you enjoyed Lisbon and Cascais!
always, such a lovely place near my favourite beach praia do guincho!

Thomas the a/c controls are also accessed via yhe infotainment screen so manual ones more or less obsolete.
i still like to have them =)

Interesting review Thomas, thank you for showing the various colour options, btw, i didn't realize the back difference, hehe...

It looks like a miniature Grand Cherokee.

Hi i am just surprised the Cabin noise so high. Is it really that disturbing or is a quite cabin ?? Let me know. as i am planning to buy a Trailhawk as it will be launched in India.
The cabin noise is quite low. Only get loud when the engine goes above 4000 revs but 95% of the time stays around 2000revs.
How was the ride. Quiet?

They probably should have put the radiator behind the grill, placing it so low makes it more vulnerable.

you would have to dislocate the steering column then, as Infiniti does. But so far, the tyres of course always give feedback

hey thomas, which one you prefer out of Skoda Karoq vs Jeep Compass. Off road capabilities are not the priority
I like exterior jeep styling, but everything else the skoda leads
@@autogefuehl thanks for the quick reply. Yes exterior of compass are pretty good. Are the NVH levels in petrol compass comparable to skoda?
Thomas, do you think it is to American for Europeans? Also impressive video.
thanks! I think it will work well here too

Hi great vid tnx
Nice looking car.Good in depth review.Thks Thom.
Well I own a Jeep Compass. The Dash board lighting does not auto turn off at night. If you are able to shut it off it has a great chance of coming back on.
I have a case going on one now.
My Jeep will not be in my hands for they say 45 days as the Programers figure a way to fix this issue. Until this is fixed I can not recommend this Vehicle!
thats what i am always thinking about 'ambient light', its prob more irritating (esp. at night) than a helpful feature.
Excellent review. For one with 1200km driving per month (300km in single stretch)which will be best to buy?.1.4 litre multiair turbo petrol or 2 litre multijet diseal?whats your recommendation.
thanks! doesnt sound like u would need a diesel then!
Great looking car 👍🏼 i want a grand cherokee srt and my girlfriend can have this one :P
the trailhawk version looks as if it had all of the front lower teeth removed 😀 the limited looks a lot better
I did and I thought you did a mistake lol 👍🏼

thx
jeep compass have very reliable engine fiat chrysler multijet

molto carina
It’s not a Seat Ateca! And it’s got fiat build quality. Wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole.
Alfa, Ferrari and Maserati have also Fiat quality. I bet u wouldnt touch these either 😂😂😂
F F There is no way to compare a Seat/Skoda with a Jeep. Only the 4wd system should suggest you the difference.
I realized it
Rear lights are the only things that i don't like about Compass, they don't look like jeep at all
I saw, that it was Cherokee))
nice =)
I realized it :-)

dont like the Car it look old, but nice review
He's cute.
No comments on the poor reliability of Jeeps ?
How would I know if this all-new model is reliable or not?
No such thing mate Jeeps scored quite high in all realibility tests the last 5 yeas.
