    Ok, went there today. Main thing I will say for beginners....that pump track looks WAY smaller on videos. I've seen a bunch of videos and when I got there I was surprised at how big and deep the jumps were on the pump track and the dropoffs are a lot scarier, totally doable but scary if you haven't done that kind of thing before. I had a couple of guys I was watching (I'm 54 yrs old) and they inspired me to work my way up the dropoffs to the highest one, I had no intention of doing that when I got there. Same with the downhills, they really helped me get my confidence on the jumps. One of the things most videos don't talk about (because it's boring I guess) is how much of a whippin' climbing to the top of the hills is...after doing 5 runs my poor legs were done from climbing. Stuck around around the pump track (FYI, weekday morning, nobody out there except a couple locals and a couple kids, all on the pump track, nobody on the trails). My new favorite place.

    • @MTBFreeks
      @MTBFreeks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on the budget and what your looking to ride with it... If you go Hardtail it is alot cheaper. If you go Marino you can custom build your own... We are gonna be doing a giveaway summer time! If you want to email me at mtbfreeks@gmail.com I will give you my phone number and I will help you out... I have alot of connections and come across alot of good deals

    I've only been a Knoxvillian for about 5 years now...and I often wondered what was beyond the end of the James White Parkway. Mystery solved.
    That said, I've been wanting to get my feet wet in trail-riding/mountain-biking. I don't even have a mountain-bike yet...but as soon as I have the expendable cash to invest in a semi-decent one, I plan on hitting some local trails...obviously the "beginner" ones...then onto the moderate ones. Not sure where the trails/courses(featured in this video) lie on that scale.
    I'm sure you've had this question asked to you by local noobs...but can you point me to a good resource of info for soon-to-be local noobs such as myself? ...like, which trails to start on?
    I plan on sticking to the Knoxville area for my trail riding...so even a recommendation on entry-level mountain bikes would be great. My entry-level bike most likely won't exceed $1,500. I know that's not much...but I'd rather learn my mistakes on a bike in that price range, instead of destroying something more expensive right out of the gate.
    I'm not new to bikes, as I have a lot of experience road biking...but I understand that trail riding is an entirely different animal. Anyway...if there's a one-stop-shop of an information resource for a noob like me, please feel free to give me a link, and/or insight. Thanks. Great video, btw.

    Could you give me any tips on jumping? I’m fairly new but I’m getting a lot faster. I can fly through single track all day long but when it comes to jumps I just haven’t figured it out yet. Part of it also is my confidence on jumps, but I know for a fact I’m not hitting them right at all. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
