I love, love, LOVE the theory videos (and not just because you mentioned mine - though that was AWESOME.) I’m less convinced now that the kids are involved, TBH. Michael’s a creep, yeah, but it’s more like he’s just angry and talks a big game. I might be one of the only ones who’s starting to feel (kinda) bad for Tommy. Clearly he wants to make a name for himself. But when he went to Carolyn directly in a previous episode, and then in the last one when Eugenia said he gave Carolyn “the ick”, something about his demeanor changed. Still stuck on Marbles being the mastermind and Tommy being the fall guy if it all comes apart, but the ultimate twist would be Tommy turning on his mentor to exonerate Rusty in the end. Would also splain the missing rope and potentially carpet fibers from the cat tree (I think most of them are carpeted.) Ultimately let’s all agree on one thing - the cats are the real heroes here. Can’t wait for next week!
@@TeamSqueeKi Looking at the ropes used on the victims, 3 or 4 strand nylon rope, maybe each, with various lope-knots like the kind used in boating, camping, towing, heavy-duty work. Does Nico own a boat?🤔
@@TeamSqueeKi Just when I thought you may be on to something with Marbles (🤠) Tommy wears his early-days Bolo tie - Bolo’s are good when you can’t tie knots - and after he rips up Rusty, gets complimented by Nico, then while in his victory glow the poker winds up in his house, so I’m back to Kyle/Barbara did it 🤐
I've never changed my mind more whilst watching a show 😄 I think it's the wife. The amount of emotional pain that woman is living with, yet she's still there with him.
Ok hear me out. I was rewatching episode one and when the son came home around the 10 min mark and asked his dad why he was home, Rusty answered: "I went to Carolyn's memorial." and the son walked away sooooo awkwardly without saying a word. Then Rusty said: "Come on, show me a curveball". I mean how genius would it be if the son ended up accidentally killing her and Barb covered it up and that that is the actual "curveball" to the plot! There is more! When Barb and Rusty confronted Kyle about riding by her house, Kyle said he wanted to talk to mom about it. Also the scene where he is at the psychologist when she asked what he felt about seeing his dad enter Carolyn's house and he said "Worse things have happened since he went inside her house". 👀 Pair this with the bike scrubbing and BOOM that's a solid theory. I can see Rusty finding out at some point and he takes the plea deal of manslaughter and will go to prison for 8 years to protect his son.
Wowwwww awesome theory! This might be it. Be sure to join us for our Pre-Finale livestream 7:30pm EST Tuesday night. As soon as I see you in the chat we'll read this theory
My theory is Lorraine did it. She found out that Raymond was having an affair with Carolyn too. Carolyn was all about getting ahead in her career and using any means to do so.
Just stumbled on your channel, good constructive dialogue, well crafted theories. I think it was her ex-husband and her kid did it. The kid seems to be obsessed with his mom, making me think he’d go visit the serial killer guy in jail, and the dad helped cover the murder because of guilt of the marriage ending + hatred for Rusty.
But what about the evidence buried by Carolyn in the Bunny case? A lot of theories are ignoring this but it has to be one of the biggest hints about Carolyn's murder. I think the finale will show a lot more about Carolyn's life, including maybe some unsavory or secretive things she did in her work that eventually got her killed. Since Rusty was on the Bunny case with her, Carolyn's murder and the framing of Rusty has to be connected to the Bunny case. I agree with others that all the friends & family member hints are red herrings.
Oh shit, I think people are on to something with this kid(s) theory. We know Rusty’s kid rode his bike passed (at the least) that night, and that Carolyn’s son was recording outside her house…so, neither saw the other?! I don’t believe that.
Every episode it changes. Now I feel less sure than I did earlier in the season. Ive read the book and seen the movie and im still not sure. But I think one kid and one adult is involved just dont know which combination. I think its a reason the kids are being focused on so much. It wasmt like that in the movie at all.
On a rewatch - I thought Barbara was looking at the case files of the bunny murder not Carolyn. But we hadn't seen the bunny murder pictures yet so you assume it's Carolyn.
I think it’s Eugenia . She was obviously secretly in love with rusty and for somebody that was supposed to be Team Rusty .? She surely didn’t do him any favours on the stand 🤔🫣
Rusty did it. He has split personalities thus his reason for seeing two versions of everything when he's recalling events. Also they showed him as two Rusty's in the mirror when he was shaving last episode. But the biggest clue is Jake Gyllenhaal is not letting anyone steal his shine. He loves playing crazy characters.
If the show follows the book then you can look up who did it. The Original Harrison Ford movie adaption for the most part, ends the way the book does. Of coarse, the show runners can go in a completely different direction.
I think Rusty gets off because new evidence comes out to clear his name but incriminating a new suspect but it’s one of our regular characters. The trial next season is Rusty working with the state to try whoever that is.
The show has been renewed for a second season so wrong person ending up in jail would offer a cliffhanger and a great way to continue the story. Rusty will be condemn but the real killer is Kyle and then Barbara staged the crimescen to save her son!
EDIT: I just got to the point in the video where you mention Season 2 They're not going to make all those kids doing it. BTW there's a season 2 that got confirmed so I don't know if they're going to use another Scott Turow novel or if Jake and family will come back...in which case they're not going to make any of the kids guilty (unless it's Michael)
In one of Scott Turow's later novels, Rusty comes back and is accused of killing his wife Barbara. He is a judge at the time and the events happen 22 years after the events in the first book (Presumed Innocent)
I’m back to feeling like Rusty’s son did it, was frantic and called mom, mom came up with the idea about the typing up like the case, and took the murder weapon and Rusty finds out and takes the hit. I definitely thought that was going to happen early with Rusty talking the fall, but they switched course and I thought never mind.
I think every single lead actor in this series deserves an Emmy Jake Gyllenhaal. Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Peter Sarsgaard and Elizabeth Marvel all with amazing performances however if I would give anyone an Emmy it would be O.T. Fagbenle that dude is a chameleon, the range is ridiculous. If you could give only 1 of these actors an Emmy, who would you give?
@@sceneinvaders thanks for replying , I also wanted to add a partial theory , Nana Mensah ( amazing actress by the way) has had only a small role in the series so far but she is heavily involved in the promotion, It makes me think she has a bigger part to play in the mystery ,maybe her character did the murder to protect rusty in a way.
