I cannot explain how amazing that riff is. And not only is it just amazing on its own but it brings up so much emotion for me because of the time when I first discovered them and listened to the album over and over. When I listen to that riff I still picture that time 5 and half years ago sitting outside on my own on a winter night with earphones in, and that is when I realised how goddamn good they are at writing these songs that feel like you are being broken down then just built all the way up.

Fascinating how Fluisteraars' albums vary so much from each other despite staying in the overall niche of ambient black metal with a slight folk influence: "Dromers" being closest to the Burzum/Drudkh/Woodtemple influence; "Luwte" having a more technical music style and colder less naturalistic style that reminds me more of a decadent technological civilisation or vast starry night skies; "Bloem" going all in on a warmer more nature-like atmosphere with a more active rhythm section; "Gegrepen Door..." focusing on long drawn out ambient sound landscapes but with more complex melodies than typical. Their newest EP is in turn much more dissonant and aggressive than anything I remember hearing from them. I also like how their albums never quite have the cover art one would expect records in the style to use...
