- When you think of the President’s watch, odds are the Rolex Day-Date comes to mind. And while it is true that many US Presidents have worn Rolex’s halo luxury model, it’s a watch that would undeniably still be an icon without any such provenance. After all, it’s a Rolex rendered in precious metals. However, there is another watch that bears the distinction of being the President’s timepiece: The Vulcain Cricket. In this episode of our series Under the Radar, Craft + Tailored’s very own president of unprecedented value, Tyler “Commander in Cheap” Vanes, shines a light on an alarmingly cool (and affordable) variant of the Vulcain Cricket - a 1960s Cricket Alarm ref. H.99.101.

I have a Seiko bellmatic and have worn it to sleep, vibrating wrist is surprisingly calm way of being woken and far nicer than the iPhone alarm.
Cheers
They're great pieces!
i want a vintage memovox alarm. the cricket is very cool as well. Awesome video, thanks for sharing
Thanks for the great feedback!
You wear the watch while you’re talking, but it’s mostly out of the shot. Please move the camera lower so we always see the watch.
Did you see the up-close shots?
@@craftandtailored Yes I did watch the full video. My suggestion is to always make the watch visible while you're wearing it.
this isnt a cricket. its just a alarm
You're showing a US Vulcain with an AS 1475 movement, not a Cricket. The Cricket had crowns at 3:00 and 2:00 position. Also the true Cricket had two backs; one with holes to magnify the alarm. Boo! You didn't research the watch!
hear hear..... AS movement are usually mUCH MUCH softer....i am trying to sell off my benrus alarm watch... regretted buying .... i know this after i acquired a true Vulcain cricket alarm... the alarm is really able to wake most people from sleep .
I would have loved to hear the alarm go off. Great video though.
Thanks!! Sorry about that.
