Funny you have a Led Zeppelin shirt on. Robert Plant is a huge Elvis fan, he use this song as an example of that Elvis according to him is the greatest singer ever "Anyway you want me". There is also several interviews with Plant where he talks about his meating with Elvis. Led Zeppelin went to an Elvis concert in 1974 and meet up at Elvis hotel aftervards.

Elvis is in 5 music halls of fames, could be fun if you made a video with a piece of each kind of songs from every catagory. Gospel, Rock n roll, Country, blues and rockabilly. Elvis also used the microphone as a cane in some concerts, something Freddy Mercury (who loved Elvis) took up later.

This is the Elvis everybody knows! It’s what inspired soooo many people to become musicians and start bands. Everybody wanted to be like Elvis. Even bands like Led Zeppelin . In an interview they talked about going to his concert and got invited back stage. They said when Elvis talked to them they didn’t know what to say because they were so enamored of him and now people are like that about them lol

I loved watching him and listening to his music. My Dad always had his own pair of Blue Suede Shoes because of Elvis. He had them until the day he passed away. Gosh brings back such great memories. Wish you guys would consider making playlists either by Group or by the Decade it was released. You have such great reactions and this came from the movie by the same name and they were released at the same time.

Elvis choreographed this himself. So considering the times and the often echoed accusations of Elvis "stealing" from black artists or cultures, I dare ANYONE to find me ANYTHING remotely relevant or assimilated to this performance. Point is, there simply isn't. Elvis was a unique talent that brought together R&B, country, gospel and melded it into a unique style all his own. It was called Rock-N-Roll, but as any true Elvis fan knows, it didn't stop there. Number one hits on the Pop, Country, R&B, Adult Contemporary, Gospel and Christmas charts as well as his selection into ALL music Halls of Fame attest to his unique talent. There! I just said what needed to be said.

Absolutely wonderful, you've got round to Elvis, I've been watching your reactions to Dire Straits, and agree with everything you say, now you've got Elvis, every womans dream in his prime.
Being as you're not women, you won't see what we do 🤗.
I don't know what you'll make of him, but at the time he was revolutionary, and still is, he's more popular now than he was at the end of his life in 1977, 45 years ago.
I hope you carry on reacting to him, he's well worth it, so many different songs.
A beautiful man inside and out.
    Well done 👏👏👏👏👏

Aahhhh, that song came out 65 years ago,I did too! Always loved Elvis mainly due to my 2 older sisters which were 8 and 11 when this came out. Two teenage girls playing the latest records during the 60’s really shaped my taste in music. Then came American Bandstand, Soul Train and the Midnight Special, MoTown and of course the TV show “Solid Gold”. Was a friggin GREAT time for music! Cheers

Hey Guys, great that you're going back to where rock started, the '50's. The originators were Bill Hayley & the Comets with "Rock around the Clock" in '54 & "Shake rattle & roll" in '55, Chuck Berry from '55 - '58 with "Maybeline" , "Roll over Beethoven" , "Johnny B Goode" & "Rock & Roll Music" , also Little Richard with "Tutti Frutti" & "Lucille" & Jerry Lee Lewis with "Whole Lotta shakin" & "Great balls of fire" . Early rock n roll style was a development of 12 bar blues, enjoy the journey, cheers

  • @gingeroo5765
    @gingeroo5765 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Elvis made quite a few movies- yes kind of corny but usually had a song or few in them. I think most were made in the 50’s?? (But maybe a few in the before & after that) Some were in a beach setting, jail setting, military, musical, or cowboy westerns.. but regardless of WHERE- one theme you could count on to be present in just about EVERY thing involving Elvis: 😍BEAUTIFUL WOMEN!!!!❤️😍❤️😍❤️🥰😊❤️😄🥰
And they were FALLING ALL OVER THEMSELVES TO GET TO ELVIS IN (and out) of THOSE
    MOVIES❣️😂🤣😄
But, in REAL LIFE, Elvis really did
serve in the military for 2 years. He (like all men between a certain age at that time) were “drafted” ,meaning- called to duty from U.S.govt. without a choice to serve at least a 2-yr service. Elvis was drafted by the U.S. Army and served his 2 years. Part in Germany and part in U.S. After, he picked up where he left off with his music career.
As far as his movies were concerned.. I think watching 1 or 2 is worth your time for good wholesome historical value sake. I would recommend maybe a beach one (like Acapulco maybe)and a music or military one. They are when you don’t feel like seeing anything too heavy or suspenseful.
I think the deeper 70’s voice you were eluding to was the gospel (religious) sound you were hearing. That was gorgeous too. Very meaningful.
P.S.The draft is no longer in effect in U.S.

Elvis Presley, such an icon, wonderful voice, what a mover! and great songs such as Hound Dog (that's the song in Forrest Gump), All Shook Up and Heartbreak Hotel. Gosh, Jailhouse Rock came out 65 years ago - wow! Thanks so much for your great reaction, guys, it will be brilliant to see you react to Hound Dog, which as I said was the song in Forrest Gump! Rock Around the Clock by Bill Hayley and the Comets came out well before this in 1954 but between both songs (plus Chuck Berry) you can see where the "Rock and Roll" of 60' and 70's came from. (Buddy Holly hit in 1957) all this ,well before the Beatles and The Stones of course.

Elvis is one of the best singers that has ever lived. He was also a fabulous entertainer. There is a reason he is called "The King". He had a great voice & could sing anything whether it was ballads, gospel or rock. He also acted in quite a few movies with great songs. "Jailhouse Rock" is considered one of the best (this is one of the first music videos). I enjoy a lot of his other movies even though some consider them a bit corny but the music is always great.

This is the classic Elvis that all the impersonators cover. But the thing was back in the 50s. The technology just wasn't that great so there isn't a whole bunch of footage and I particularly like the life things from back then but often they were on television shows and they would not film him below the waist because the white Community considered his hip movements to be wrong somehow which is hilarious considering what we see every day today. But yeah so this was from his first movie which was actually a really good movie. And as far as the choreography, he did not like what they were telling him to do so he convinced them to let him just do his own thing and then in the end, they built the choreography of the other dancers around what he was doing. And you can bet Michael Jackson was influenced by him for sure. In fact it's in another performance from back then really early, maybe it's hound dog, where is basically doing a sideways moonwalk and holding himself up onto his toes with his core strength and he still singing and Performing and all that. This guy was an athlete and a natural performer for sure.

I don't know why nobody has recommended any of his actual live appearances on the Ed Sullivan show amongst other live appearances in the 50's. Then some performances from the 68 comeback show and some live 1970 appearances. Perhaps you have done some of these but they were blocked. I don't see them on here and only see 4 songs by him. Btw-there are no songs from the 40's. He didn't record his 1st record until 1954 and actually got on national television in 56. He was born in 1935.

Back in the late fifties, Elvis would often be filmed only from the waist up because his gyrations of his hips was considered “obscene” and not fit for young “good girls” to watch. For real. Especially young WHITE girls. I know, , but that’s they way people thought back then. Elvis was basing his moves on James Brown, Chuck Berry Little Richard, and other black performers. Very improper. Now, think how ten years later…how much had changed. Young girls were just beginning to be “allowed” to express appreciation for male sexuality in public by the mid sixties in western culture….at least those who were not children of strictly religious parents. Now, think of the early 70’s and Robert Plants highly sexualized performances. And how appreciative the girls were. I was 18 and a freshman in college in 1965 and I was a young adult through the whole sexual Revolution in the US…….made possible by the introduction of birth control. The changes in society from the late fifties and early sixties, to the late sixties was immense……whole different generation and different mores. Cannot be over-stated.
