It's actually very entertaining to watch you improve. I personally had to improve only a couple of my PBs to beat all the dev times and it is great to see a person with not so optimized times be so determined to get better and eventually beat all of these. Gives a great perspective on how hard this challenge really is and what it takes to overcome it. Remember, before the update there were only less than thousand people who had consistantly times this low in time trials, but you have what it takes to get there. Respect for the already crazy amount of improvement, keep going!
@@FloroSapiens Of course it is just an estimate, but I first heard a figure similar to that from iTheDashy I think. I come from PS and and based on that experience I would say that a thousand people sounds a bit too high for one console and maybe a bit too low for all the consoles. Again, talking about consistently having times this low across (almost) all the tracks before the dev times were released. Of course there were tracks like Tiny Arena that have quite a slow dev time where there were several thousand people able to have time that low, but then there were significantly harder ones like Turbo Track where the people able to achieve the dev time was only a few hundred. Sadly not able to check these precisely as the times have been reset, but thousand people even across all the consoles sounds to me like the right ballpark even though it might be a bit too low depending on how you define "consistency".
@@FloroSapiens As I said, I'm talkin about the time before the patch AND I'm trying to estimate the amount of people who had pretty much all their times this low already. I would only barely count myself in that group as I had about five times I needed to improve to achieve the dev times (most of them newer tracks which I hadn't tried to optimize yet + a couple of tracks I just sucked at). Back then the amount of people who had already grinded their times this low was very low as there was no motivation for it. There were for sure more people capable of it who just hadn't focused on time trials. Now the number is more than thousand per console, maybe closer to three etc and this will rise even more in the future as people continue to grind. Also, please don't say it is nothing special, as for many people this is a monstrous task and the times on many tracks, though not perfect, are very respectable. I have done it, you might have done it, but it is rightfully the hardest challenge CTR has to offer and you need some serious skills to overcome it.
@@latexipappa5009 If you set the in game ghosts as your own standards of quality, then yeah, it becomes terribly difficult to beat them, because that's what you perceive as the ultimate challenge. If you use those as your standards, while you might not beat them, they'll get you to improve crazy fast. You just need to be willing to understand their strategies, and try your best to reproduce them. Aim for something above the ghosts, and beating them will only be a formality. Just an FYI for everyone, the shortcut on roo's tubes, going outside with a hard cut back is like .02 slower than going left of the pillar. It's not worth it unless you're WR grinding.
Why would you not do it? There's nothing to lose in learning how to pull it off. What you're saying can be said about pretty much every single time save you can put into practice. Sure, they're small individually, but they add up. Three times, once for each lap, and on top of each other. 0.2x3 is already more than half a second lost because you couldn't be bothered to learn a simple shortcut.
@@FloroSapiens Reread what I typed. Taking the inside of the pillar vs the outside is less than 1/10 of a second after all 3 laps are done which is why I labeled it roughly .02.
