My older cousin was in the airborne infantry, so of course Airborne was one of my favorites as a kid. Hasbro knocked this one out of the park. Everything from the head sculpt to the classic uniform looks great. I did give mine a M4 from Valaverse, but other than that, I think the figure is perfect. The gun he comes with is a Demro XF-7 Wasp. It was a crappy submachine gun made by a small company in the late 70's early 80's. The vintage Beach Head came with an XF-7, and the newest Classified Firefly does too. Your hesitation to call the barrel accessory a suppressor is good instinct. I think that's what Hasbro is using it as, but in real life it was nothing more than a ventilated barrel shroud. I'd have to study the pistol closer. Off hand, I don't recognize it. Extended/threaded barrels are usually how suppressors are attached to handguns, but that pistol's barrel looks odd. I think it's just something Hasbro did to accommodate the "suppressor", as the barrel is lower than the actual bore axis of the handgun. Great video, and congratulations on hitting 1,300 subscribers!
Thank you! And it's funny, every figure you mentioned that comes with the XF-7, I never picked up. When I was a kid I didn't get Beachhead because at the time I felt like he was replacing Stalker (and c'mon, Stalker's the man). And I still haven't picked up the vintage Firefly yet (I'm one of the few that actually likes the first Classified Firefly). I don't mind Hasbro wanting to switch up some weapons, like giving Airborne something compact (something they should have done for Tunnel Rat), but I wish they would gear them up with something more recognizable and modern. A suppressed MP5 would have been awesome for Airborne. I keep going back and forth on the Valaverse Arsenal Tin and custom loading out a bunch of my figures. But the price on that is pretty steep for a box of accessories...
