"Do not repeat this at home" - what the heck you expect me to do? I bought that $100k press and garage - I am sure as HECK gonna use it! But I'm not going to waste this on my favorite guitar slides.
I was just about to comment on just how well carbon fiber peformed during this simple test!! Lets build a submarine out of this stuff!!! I saw ur comment and lol'd
I call BS on this experiment. 1. At what point was the failure detetmined? Except for the acrylic that had a definite failure, the rest just crushed linearly with a steadily rising compression force. 2. In a "normal" test the failure point would have been at the point of deformation beyond the material's elastic limit. 3. Pipes are usually tested on-end, not sideways as they are always weaker in sideways compression. No metallurgist would give any credibility to this test unless there was a specific requirement or reason for it, and failure would be at first non-elastic deformation.
Carbon fiber...over rated. The only benefit is light weight.

What does the “then” mean in the warning? “Do not repeat at home then what you see” That feels like a non-English speaker trying to write something in English:)
Nice!
It would be interesting to see the pipes standing when being crushed as well - they are much stronger that way.
I thought that would be the only way to test them. Will they be able to crush empty paper cups, too?

Carbon fiber look really strong
You can definitely build a Subarine out of it and dive to the Titanic
Yeah, I would pay a few hundred thousand dollars to have a ride on such a thing...

Carbon fibre is actually one of the WORST materials you can make a submarine with, as compression is carbon fibres WORST energy.
What was Stockton Rush even thinking! 🤷♀👀

0:29 Let's go!! 🔥🔥
I wish we knew which specific stainless steel alloy was shown here. That was impressive.
If only Stockton Rush could have seen this video, some lives could have been saved.
Was just thinking the same thing. If only this had been made years ago…or you know that guy didn’t try to Rush through the R&D process.
And now vertical
Terrific machine for cracking coconut
I’d like to see cylinder vs sphere for each to see the affect of the shape.
I wish you’d shown what the PVC looked like after it was crushed.
Tubing was/is designed to hold pressure inside and move it to where it is needed.
Dlaczego nie pionowo???
That second pipe goes up to 2 tons
This experiment had meaning if you wanted to build a submarine from one of them. Where have you seen a pipe that has to withstand this kind of loads?
Why would you do the test that way? Surely standing on end would be better 🤷🏻♂️
Be great for making orange juice
Now we crosh !
Why was the stainless listed as solid???? if it were solid it wouldnt be pipe.
Why aren't there any ceramic materials?
Thanks 👍
❤❤
It is a wonder why they don't use case hardened stainless steel for aircraft.
Weight
Clearly brass was weaker than aluminum!?
Titan mistake
PVC better than carbon🤣
Keep in mind that the CRP wing of the Airbus 350 knocked the tail clean off the CRJ. CRP is pretty strong!
Not a good test, especially for carbon fibre, should be the other way on the fibres, all of these should've been done standing up.

You sir have indeed crushing few hundred pipes like that.😐
Thank you King 🫡
Херня, стоя интересней. Стоя реально предел сопротивления к деформации виден.
