I am glad to see that Ruger has stepped up their game and completed the rifle they started to build so many years ago. This rifle, from this review, seems to be very competitive and long overdue.

After watching your video, I went to Ruger's website and was surprised to learn that they had added a rear receiver screw. The description from Ruger simply said enhanced rear receiver mount. There appears to be a rear tang on the receiver but it may be something like the additional screw and tang copied from the Victor 10-22 stock. There is another change I noticed at the barrel / receiver, a screw at the top of the barrel, under the scope rail. What is this? Is it a third connecting screw for the barrel? Again, Ruger doesn't mention the screw in it's description of the rifle.

The top improvement is that the barreled receiver is bedded and bolted to the stock in two locations.

Nice rifle Chris, I have the stainless version and it’s a beauty. I didn’t give it a fair shake because I bought a Bergara B14r not long after I bought the Ruger but I’m going to bring it back out and find some ammo it likes. We can’t buy the Hornady 22lr in the states but I have a large assortment to try. Ruger really went all out with this rifle, especially using two receiver screws which make the floated barrel more stable. Do you have any recommendations for ammo other than the Hornady? Thanks for the video, it inspired me to get it out of the safe. Oh, I put a Bannish 22 surpressor on it, super quiet. Happy New Year

I ordered a takedown lite but don't expect to get that kind of accuracy out of it - maybe close, we'll see. Great shooting from Arizona US! Best.

Nice rifle and pretty good accuracy. I had a 10/22 take down for a while but i could not get on with it and it spent all its time built up in the cabinet. Eventually changed it for a lithgow 101.. Wouldn't mind that for a bit plinking. But that's not an option for a variation on the licence lol

I have the fully left handed version of this exact firearm. The only ruger 10/22 to have a fully left handed action ever released. And it doesn’t shoot worth a damn, lol. 2.5-3 MOA at 100 yards or less

@@TheRomy31 i’ve shot great match ammo, and every different brand of bulk ammo i have, nothing makes it shoot any better. However, I’be got another 10/22 that i put a match barrel on and it shoots phenomenally, so I know it’s not the shooter. Also i made sure everything was tight and tried 2 scopes

    Nice wee review Chris.👌
Just one question, don't you use a brass catcher? 🤔
I appreciate for close-up footage you don't want to obscure the action, but surely you don't leave brass everywhere, or scrabble around picking it all up from the grass? 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@chrisparkin431 Okay 👍appreciate the clarification that does make sense. I use a semi-auto 22 LR and 25. air rifle. It makes it easier for me to use a follow-up shot if needed. Unfortunately in the states is harder to get a suppressor for your firearm so when I use a 22lr unsuppressed it's loud no matter what.

I purchased one of these rifles about 4 weeks ago with the hopes of using it for NRL22. It comes with a 30 MOA rail, so I figured it should be accurate enough. I WAS WRONG! Mine does cycle. But it is not accurate at all! I and a shooting/hunting buddy have tried CCI SV, Norma TAC, Mini Mags HPs and jackets, Aguila Super, Blazer, Mark-1, Eley semi-auto match, RWS 100, SK Semi-Auto Match, SL Long Range Match, and SK Pistol Match. Not one bullet will group under a 1.5” or even close to it at 50 yards. Some of the brands would stack 2 rounds. Some 3. But would have at least 2-3 flyers that would open the groups up to 1.75” to 3”, or more! 100 yards accuracy is not even worth talking about with this so-called Custom Shop rifle! I was able to occasionally hit a 12” steel plate at 175. But I had a lot of misses as well! If that target was a 6” plate, I would have only hit it a few times as my rounds were all over the 12” plate!
It’s going back to Ruger in a few days. Some FYI if you’re thinking about picking one up for yourself…
    1. Not accurate. Might do well for Steel Challenge. But why a 30 MOA rail???
    2. There is no Ruger Custom Shop. I was told during a call to Ruger about this rifle they just take rifles off the line and add a few parts to them. Stamp them with “Custom Shop”, And away they go!
    3. The wooden stock is cheap and brittle! Mine has chipped away just from removing the action!!
    4. The wooden stock is not pillar bedded. It looks like it is. It has brass insert. But they stop at the bottom of the stock and do not go all the way into the stock!
    5. And last but not least. This action will not take after market barrels! It has a 3rd bolt at the top of the receiver just under the 30 MOA rail. There is a recess/groove removed in the barrel for this bolt. No one makes a barrel set up for this receiver!!! So, you’re stuck with a 16” barrel.
I now realize that instead of buying this rifle from Ruger, I should have collected the parts and just built my own 10/22!!!
    RLTW!
