@@kimikele94 I don't remember the exact details. But as I recall, it was arranged that Lindsey would perform as a guest soloist on some classical repertoire with Bocelli's orchestra. When she arrived there for her first rehearsal, it became very apparent to her that Bocelli and all of the musicians considered her beneath them, like she wasn't a legitimate musician. The first day, they didn't say a word to her. After her first attempt reading through a piece with them, she explained that Bocelli and members of the group just looked at each other like they couldn't believe they had to put up with her. This of course was very upsetting to Lindsey, and she went home that evening and just practiced her butt off to try to learn the music. She came back for rehearsal the next day, and after playing through her solos, she explained Bocelli spoke the only word to her that he would say during her whole visit. He just said, "Better." To say Lindsey felt judged and ashamed is an understatement. She desperately wanted to quit at that point. But she went on and attempted to go through with her performances with the group. However, during one of the performances, I think the second, just before she was to go on stage for one of her solos, someone stopped her and told her that the song had been cut. That really caught her off guard. But then, as she stood off stage, she heard the orchestra start playing the piece. And a violinist in the orchestra played her solo. She realized then that they hadn't cut the piece at all. They had just cut her from it, without telling her. Somehow Lindsey managed to finish that night. I don't know how, because I know I never could have gone back on the stage after that humiliation. But after that evening, Lindsey canceled the rest of her performances with the group. She was an emotional wreck from the whole ordeal, and it stuck with her for a long time after. To this day I think Lindsey still struggles with feeling inadequate as a violinist. Anyway, I just find the whole thing unbelievably cruel. And it's completely counter to my belief of what music is all about.
@@communityband1 Wow that is crazy! I think I can recall a bit of that story in the book, but I didn't remember all the details... Well, that's why I love Lindsey so much, she always perseveres and keeps following her dreams no matter what! She is amazingly talented in my eyes and deserves all the love and acceptance from musicians!
Exactamente no es de Bocelli, la canción es de un grupo que se llama los panchos y la compositora se llama Consuelito Velázquez. Está es una de las canciones más icónicas y representativas de México
