    I avoid bottled water as much as possible and I would encourage everyone to do the same. It's not terribly expensive to get a decent filter so you can filter your own tap water at home and when you're not at home, you can use a reusable bottle to bring clean water with you. It's far less expensive than buying bottled water and it's much better for the environment.

      Boogster Su the only way to reduce the plastic, is to STOP using plastic yourself. Use this information and side research and tell your family and friends, then have them tell their friends and family and so on....information is key to bring down these corporations...if people stopped using it, then they would not be making money and would be forced to do something else.

    I'm having a debate against some of my classmates in school, I'm the affirmative of "Tap water is better than bottled water", so I'm trying to find some videos that support bottled water being better than tap water but I literally can't find any, I can't imagine myself being on the other team actually having some effective points to support their claim. Which is good for me

    Actually bottled water DOES taste different. I don't drink bottled water because I can't afford it, but I can tell the difference on the rare occasions I have some. Especially with the strong chlorine taste my tap water tends to have.

  • @mikewest3108
    @mikewest3108 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I live in a trailer park that uses a well to supply water to it's residence so my tap water tastes like chlorinated pond water. So I use a Pure faucet mounted filter and the difference is amazing. I think that almost any brand of filtration system would provide water on a par to any bottled water and be much cheaper and easier on the environment.

  • @WolvenSpectre

    I wish I could drink our tap water... there is something in it that the local processing doesn't completely remove that I am sensitive to and I can only drink so much so I save that amount for cooking.
    There isn't a problem with bottled water just the way we bottle water. Using non-biodegradable plastics and harvesting water tables with poor and ineffective regulation are the major culprits and could be fixed. Short haul deliveries and microbottling facilities close to sales markets. ELE Vehicles on those short hauls as well as better bottle retieval (ensuring proper disposal and/or recycling) need to be out there too.
    Remember we are relatively in the early years of bottled water and the early years of tap water were not very good either.

  • @THEVIERAOS

    I believe a large sum of people who buy bottled water do it for the convenience factor as well. It's less of a hassle to just throw a couple water bottles in your bag then have to continuously refill a reusable one, though it seems ridiculous since you're only saving a minute or two. Whenever I drink a plastic water bottle I try to reuse it for as long as possible before throwing it away.

  • @doctypepublic

    Try this argument in West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky, where the tapwater has been contaminated with mineral runoff from the coal industry. The bottled water is not only more palatable, it's healthier. As not every home has a reverse osmosis system, this is the best option.

    The EPA may regulate the pipes leading up to the house, but the pipes on folks property is up to them. If they're old and decrepit the clean water will become discolored, contaminated, or just taste different.

    Damn right NYC water is the best (except...if the pipes in your building are crap.) This water comes from the Ashokan Reservoir and the catskill watershed. Hardly any development up there, lots of state parks and the water comes from mountain streams. Naturally pure and I'm sure it's a hell of a lot better than the desert water for LA

    Bottled water is a necessity here in southeast Oklahoma. The water will make you sick. It's not an issue of if, it's an issue of when. If you live in a city (except Portland Oregon where people keep killing themselves in the reservoir) then your water is alright. Small towns like where I live, the only thing you can say about the water is it (probably) doesn't have parasites in it, it's sure got particulates in it.
