It's not terribly expensive to get a decent filter so you can filter your own tap water at home and when you're not at home, you can use a reusable bottle to bring clean water with you. It's far less expensive than buying bottled water and it's much better for the environment.

I live in a trailer park that uses a well to supply water to it's residence so my tap water tastes like chlorinated pond water. So I use a Pure faucet mounted filter and the difference is amazing. I think that almost any brand of filtration system would provide water on a par to any bottled water and be much cheaper and easier on the environment.
I wish I could drink our tap water... there is something in it that the local processing doesn't completely remove that I am sensitive to and I can only drink so much so I save that amount for cooking. Short haul deliveries and microbottling facilities close to sales markets. ELE Vehicles on those short hauls as well as better bottle retieval (ensuring proper disposal and/or recycling) need to be out there too. Remember we are relatively in the early years of bottled water and the early years of tap water were not very good either.
