*Here are about 30 differences between COPTIC & EOTC*
As an Ethiopian Orthodox servant and having attended several Coptic liturgies, and from theological research on both churches, I can tell you we the EOTC have SO MANY differences.
      *Dogma Differences*
      1. We believe that Saint Mary was born stainless immaculate conception - (Coptics believe she was born with sin)
      2. We believe that Saint Mary has no sin or nature to sin after birth as well
      *Jewish Practices*
      1. We have Ark Processions year-round
      2. We abstain from all unclean food (pork, shrimp, crab, etc)
      3. We do no enter church if we are unclean (men and women)
      4. We wear all white shawls (Netelas) as a symbol of Christ’s Resurrection and spiritual purity
      5. We have a shoeless entry (not just during communion)
      6. We abstain from any modern instruments (piano, guitar, etc)
      7. We have 81 books in the Bible (Coptics have 74)
      8. We go of Halachic Jewish Time (Fasting entry and exits are based of our sun and star movements (Twilight) and our hours are reversed (12=6, 9=3)
      9. We observe Friday evening and Saturday as the Sabbath (in addition to Sunday)
      *EOTC Belief System*
      1. We abstain from any fish on fasting days (It is a meat - 1 Cor 15:39)
      2. We eat starting at 3pm on fasting days
      3. We fast 296 days of the year (including Tsige & Pagume Fast)
      4. Women are not allowed to wear pants only ankle length dresses
      5. We never imprint (wear) icons of saints on clergical or any other clothes
      6. We have a 2-priest liturgy system unlike Coptics
      7. We close curtains during significant moments
      8. To be a Deacon you must be a unmarried virgin
      9. We have 14 liturgies (Coptics have 3)
      10. We celebrate all 33 feasts for Saint Mary and all 18 feasts of Jesus with millions in attendance year round
      11. We have Hymnaries (Mahlet) 4-10 hours short version and 24-48 hours long on Epiphany and Horologions (Sa’tat)
      12. We perform year- round Subae’s (7 days of no food or water)
      13. Believers have continual baptisms year round for healing and forgiveness of sin
      14. We do not eat bread or bring any food inside church (unlike Coptics)
      15. Only men can pour Holy Water
      16. The Holy Trinity Icon is always depicted (Coptics use mostly Jesus and the 4 creatures of the Gospel)
      *Explanation:*
While we didn’t establish a church prior to Coptics, Ethiopia was and is historically known as the First Christian Kingdom and Civilization (Reference: Prophecy Psalms 72: 9-10 along with multiple Church sources shows that one of the three wise man has been confirmed Ethiopian, Acts 8 shows Christianity teaching existed in Ethiopia and Aksum Kingdom predates back to BC showing traces of Christianity prior to Armenian Church). And so while we the EOTC are labeled “oriental” with our sister churches, we are the only orthodox nation who incorporate 4000 year old Jewish customs (Judeo-Christianity) and Jewish forms of worship and tradition into our faith making us really a third type of Orthodox. The reason for this is because we were the only Orthodox country to convert from Jewish to Christian so we hold very sacred information or the “original link” that drives our Christian faith to be more conservative or allows us to have more divine levels of worship (Ark Processions year round, Hymnaries (Mahlet), (Horologions (Sa’tat), Subae (7 days of no food or water), constant baptism, all white clothing, shoeless entry, restraining from pork and any other unclean meat and 296 days of fasting to name a few all makes our orthodoxy unique different and special in every way compared to all other oriental and eastern orthodoxies but most importantly and evidently seen is our love of Saint Mary. Ethiopia is in fact called the Land of Mary.
Thank you have a nice day.
      Blessings in Christ

Hi Can you do a teaching on what I posted? Some Ethiopians don’t know the difference.
      Especially on the Immaculate Conception.

I m one of the witnesses that listening word of GOD or sermon once or more day is giving me rest and peace .i v changed my dayly routine from watching tv or Facebook to watching sermon on TH-cam and I m happier.
The other thing I m experiencing is praying deep inside silently even sitting with people or waiting in queue or at any place.
I v seen the change in my life after I m living the the word of GOD ...”seek the kingdom of GOD and everything will be added to U”
O GOD IS GREAT...I wish everyone will experience change in their life living in word of GOD

Great beautiful sermon. Covers great points. Thank you Dn. Gorgorios.
I will take it into prayer and reflection.
I wanna ask and point out one aspect that I wonder too much how it seems to be forgotten today many times.
Sermons about purpose of God's will are focused on God's kingdom mostly. That's great and so important.
But this spiritual truth seems to oversee the first vocation God was giving to human in creation: "Let us make man in Our image...." "Let them have dominion over the ...." "...fill the earth and subdue it."(Gen. 1,26-28).
"Then the Lord God took the man He formed and put him in the garden to tend and keep it." (Gen. 2,15).
Notice, in V. 13 there is even directly mentioned the river Giving that flies to Ethopia from Garden Eden!
Now, the earth care, sustainability, it was a vocation from God. Even the first we know and find in Bible, before marriage and all holy misteries it seems.
The western lifestyle is obviously the total opposite of it and the ways of consume and production (clothes, smartphone, food, stuff) directly effect and destroy ecological balance and social justice on our God given planet.
The way the non-christian treet the Earth is anti imago dei, actually it's anti christian and destroying by means of power and money from cheep producing (monoculture etc).
In Ethiopia they throw garbage everywhere.
    It's so sad to see.
That is a purpose of Christian humanity.
That's just my word. Worth it to talk about. :)

I am 20 year old girl struggling with knowing why I matter I don't know how to fit in how to be good enough I can't see one good In me I'm lost my self image is very very low I don't know why I deserve to live and my worth..... The harder that I tried by myself instead of growing I became more and more lost like I'm stuck in this darkness. U have no idea what it means when I see this on an orthodox tewahdo teaching cause usually we are taught how to value and love others , only little times how to value and love ourselves. Which is understandable being conciously selfish beings. But this is not the case for everyone. Ur video showed me that I'm not alone and everyone goes through that. Particuladrly Ur whole story makes me feel like I'm not alone. I wish We had a chance to speak to u n u can help me, cause right now it feels like every single bit of joy is suck out of my body. N The only shot I have for joy is if I die. I'm ur fan n grateful that God sent me this video at the exact time I needed it. If u have time please diakon Gorgoreous Talk to me .... @Abchalu this is my telegram acc brother. I know if God says we will talk, we will.

You know I believe in everything happens for a reason ,its like my inspiration.Any problem happens for a reason ,this is what make u the person you are today. Life is a game you either win or win.You cant lose coz that is when you lose yourself. He never created problem beyond our strength. You have to win it's a rule .Win just win.To win you should control your mindset knowing that problems n void feelings will always get okay one day,and when that day came you will proud of urself even God will be proud of his daughter coz she passed her test. Life is a test like national exam.If I gave up doing the exam coz it's hard while I am in test room I will fail the exam.life is like that if you give up before you finish your test then u failed. This will lead to emotional distress and suicide.last week I heard in a church that God nvr created something which is out of our league, he calculated our strength n weakness and gave us what we deserve. You know he is true judge so all I want to say Is you can pass this storm to reach to the shore.
      Be strong.
