    If the hosebib manufactures had an idea they would put a large enough flange a guy wouldn't have to mess with what your doing. Half the time where you screw the faucet to the wall the wood or concrete breaks out because it's to close to the hole where the faucet pipe enters the building.

    Nice job! I hate when they're loose and flopping around... like at my house. Problem is the previous owner finished the basement and didn't give me any access and I don't feel like cutting open the ceiling all over the place to find the shutoff and then to take it off and secure it better. One of life's inconveniences I guess...

    • @pasqualeparente9776
      @pasqualeparente9776 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      spray foam the cavity if it is that loose or chip away delicately to create access if not loose. Then spray foam.

    • @ScubaCat3
      @ScubaCat3 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pasqualeparente9776 I actually did that and it has helped considerably but it's not as good as securing it properly...still moves a little

      @@ChuckBarron yeah that sounds right. Best to just call CB1 to come by and fix it, though. 😀

    • @throttlebottle5906
      @throttlebottle5906 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you have a grinder, get one of those plates, and simply cut the bottom out, so it makes a U shape, slide it behind attach and done.. good carbide metal blade in a vice may work also. ;)
      alternate, load it with caulking that gets fairly hard when it dries. I hate when someone caulks or foams them in though, it's a total PITA to remove later.
      you could also cut a hole and put an access panel right below it, then shut whole house off long enough to fix it or add a compression shutoff valve there(assuming copper pipe)
      someone needs to proofread, all my year one typing and spelling lol

    There coming out with really cool stuff in plumbing there’s snakes now that weigh less then 30 pounds and the cutter is a chain and spins in circle and u don’t need gloves the cable is covered in a protective sleeve like the ridgid camera and you don’t need power you can use with a drill and it’s the size off a camera reel very skinny space saving also someone here where I live created a water heater pan protector so you never bend a pan when lifting up and easy to slid in

    Good job! The extra mounting plate makes it nice and secure. The plastic piece with the angle to pitch the water out is a very clever idea. By the way I sent you an email with some photos of my Australian toilet so you can see the interesting plumbing here down under. It is an older style installation with a high mounted tank (cistern in Australian). Newer installations have the tank on the bowl like an American toilet does. Plastic toilet tanks are common here but I've never seen one anywhere in the US and I lived the first 40 years on my life there. Plumbing and piping methods are very different in Australia. If you're curious I can take a photo of anything you'd like to see. You probably get a lot of email to sort through so you can quickly scan your emails for DVJ606 to find my photos quickly. Take care, Jed

      don't give them any more trash product ideas please!!!! boo @ plastic tanks

    • @jeddavis8468
      @jeddavis8468 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@throttlebottle5906 I agree. Plastic tanks are much more common in Australia than China ones. In the US they would definitely be seen as cheap but here they are not even noticed as such since they are an everyday thing and have been for decades. The plastic wall mounted tank for my toilet is probably close to 50 years old. Most Australians would be surprised that they are never used in the US no matter how cheap the toilet is.

    theres a lot of those pex connectors, but I always thought they were a bit "short". The brass seems pretty solid, and the ring does crimp, but ... I dunno. I just ended up soldering and cutting a bunch with a short section of copper ahead of time and just keep em handy. Its way cheaper than the propess to PEX adapter. Try pricing a Propress to Uponor Pex A adapter!! $$$$$.

    Hey Chuck. Would you consider a Patreon linked set of companion videos where you discuss how much you charge for each job you show on your regular TH-cam channel? Only the die-hards would pay for a Patreon, you’d get a few bucks, and those of us who are really learning on your channel can get just a bit more info about the business. Thanks for considering!
