Revelation is given in signs and symbols throughout. Yet the JW self-appointed rulers "held in high esteem" ("God does not show favoritism."Gal 2) choose to say that 144,000 is a literal, specific, a limited number that was mostly fulfilled many centuries ago, leaving a mere "remnant" to rule over the peons below. This teaching conveniently allowed the "higher ups" (unscriptural GB) to claim that they alone were the last few remaining of that "Special Class". This false teaching was not without the purpose of dividing Christ's flock and elevating their so called "Anointed Class" who teach commands of men. @@mamajan99 When I was a JW it always plagued my mind when I would read John Chapter 6 where Jesus said "If you do not feed on my flesh and drink my blood you have no life within yoursleves". I want life within me. What did Jesus mean? Did he mean his words were true food or do we have to partake of bread and wine? If so where do I go to eat this bread and drink this wine? I am at a loss.

@mikekent1490 Our pastor blesses and consecrates the bread and wine according to the Scriptures. We believe it becomes His true body and blood at some point during partaking. That's how I was taught.

Revelation 7:4-8 clearly states who those 144,000 people are. Are the so-called 144,000 JW's claiming to be descends of those tribes? I would expect that each one of the could prove just that. Yet again another deception this cult is forcing on the lost. Christ said in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Christ is the only way to the Father NOT belonging to the JWs! Get out before it costs you eternity.

I remember at the Kingdom Unity District Convention in 1984 there was a Talk entitled "The Increase is On" with teh theme scripture Isa 60:22. The speaker started his talk "The Increase is on. We are witnessing the fulfillment of Isa 60:22 now". That was 40 years ago. Wow the amount of times I have studied Galatians chapter 4 and never read the "The children of the barren woman will be more numerous than the one who has the husband". Yet I must've read it so many times. As far as Revelation Chapter 14. I began to reason. Revelation 1:1 uses the Greek word Semaino or Signs to show the Revelation was written in "Signs" or Symobolic language. So in Rev Chapter 14 it speaks of a Lamb. A Moutain (Zion) 144,000 etc. But it also speaks of the elders around the throne wearing Golden Crowns. Only the 144,000 can master the song. The elders cannot. Yet the Revelation book claims that the elders seated around the throne , (We learn that there were 24 of them), were actually the 144,000 in the heavely role as Kings. But how can the 144,000 stand before themselves? If these elders are the 144,000 how come they can't join in this song and don't know it? It's obvious Chapter 14 like all the other Chapters are symbolic or written in signs. It means something else. I remember when the Locusts were the remnant distributing the Kingdom Message and the sting in their tales were the publications they left behind. They've quickly abandoned that nonsense. What troubles me the most is that these teachings were supposedly "Spirit directed from Jehovah himself" His "Guiding of the Faithful and Discreet Slave" yet now they are no longer truth yet they were truth at one time. How can that be? Why does Jehovah teach them an error? Or guide them by the Spirit of the Truth only to be a lie? SOmething doesn't make sense.
That's because the governing body isn't who they claim. They command that their members obey them without question. According to Revelation, the 144,000 are Virginia male Jews from the 12 tribes of Israel, and they don't come on the scene until the great tribulation. I think it was for that convention you mention. It rained torrents, but my deaf friends were protected. Such zeal we had. I only woke up 5 years ago.

The organization admits that the 12 tribes mentioned at Revelation 7:4-8 are not literal, but symbolic… “It is only the Revelation that tells us the number of those bought from the earth to enter the Kingdom-144,000-and that this number is sealed out of the 12 symbolic tribes of spiritual Israel.” (All Scripture Is Inspired of God and Beneficial pg.269) Since the 12 tribes are admittedly symbolic, then the number of 12,000 for each symbolic tribe has to be admittedly symbolic as well. The Jehovah’s Witness logic thus falls apart because their conclusion is that the literal number of 144,000 is derived by multiplying admittedly symbolic numbers. It makes no sense.

144,000 is a literal number. Derived from 12 sons of Jacob. 12,000 each , a total of 144,000. In revelation 7:3-8 they are called slaves. The children of God is another thing. The bible doesn't mention the total number. They are called children of God by means of adoption through God's holy Spirit poured out upon them.Rom.8:15,16 And the children of God are the heirs of God's riches and glory. The book of Revelation is not literal. It is written in signs. Revelation 1:1. Nothing in Chapter 14 is literal. The 12 Tribes listed in Revelation Chapter 7 do not match the Literal 12 Tribes of Israel. Read the chapter

So the "four living creatures" (Re 4:6) that sit in proximity to God aren't literally four living creatures? What is the number then? This means that the 7 seals of the scroll that lamb opens are not actually 7 events that are marked to happen? (Re 5:1-5) So neither are the four angels that hold back the winds or the seven angels with the seven bowls or even the seven trumpets for that matter. I mean, the numbers are symbolic and they could mean anything. That must also mean that Satan will not actually be bound for 1,000 years but some other random conglomerate of years that God just failed to inform us of....got it. Can you see some kind of failing to your logic? It's the same stupid reasoning that makes that ridiculous 1914 JW prophecy not work. "3 1/2 times" means 3 1/2 years in Daniel 7:25 and 12:7 but "7 times" somehow works itself out to 2,520 years in Daniel 4:23? So why does the definition of "times" change in the same book? And this is my point, of you say that number given in this book is symbolic, then ALL the numbers in this book are symbolic. You can't just pick a number and give it another value, or in this case NO value, just because you can't explain it. When Revelation 7 mentions the 144,00, the "great crowd" that comes after them have no specific number. But you would say that this group, the very specific 144,000, their number in particular is just symbolic of something nobody knows. Then why give them a number at all? I guess God is just too obtuse to understand what He Himself wrote. I mean, everywhere else in the bible God goes into specificity when He wants to provide numerical values for things and He gets rather unclear and obscure when He writes a blanket value that has no reason for specificity, i.e., 10 Plagues vs "about 600,000 men and a vast mixed company". (Ex 12:37-38) The number 144,000 is too specific. Revelations mentions a very specific number of 12,000 coming out of twelve tribes. Now the tribes themselves are symbolic, that is obvious, as God no longer has a covenant with the Jews and the tribes are missing a few names from the original 12 tribes. So the tribes can be symbolic but the number is still too specific. Case in point, the scroll with seven seals was given to the "Lamb of God" who is the "lion of the tribe of Judah" and the "root of David"; all symbols and sign that point to one SPECIFIC person.
Sometimes I wonder how well do Jehovah's Witnesses listen to the Scriptures. Often forgetting about the context. (Rev.1:1) The language of God and Christ is at all times spiritual, which means that only those who dwell in the Spirit can understand it. There is only one salvation and one hope, so that means that WT has deceived millions of people since the 1870’s to reject Christ. The words of Christ from Matt.7:21-23 apply to JW’s and many other Christians in churchianity. There is only salvation in Christ, definitely not in man, or even 11 men in NY.(Ps.146:3) Imagine the shock on judgement day when WT and Jehovah’s Witnesses have to explain to Christ how and why they rejected Him. Yes. All true believers make up the symbolic 144,000. They have been chosen since Pentecost and the number will cease when God decides that He is finished gathering the chosen ones, sometime in the future. I can explain more but does this make sense so far?

From that time forward, it is God’s plan to gather believers from each generation until today, and up until God says that He has enough. When is that? Only He knows. If you read John 10:1-21 you will get the picture that Christ is gathering His sheep together in this way, into one flock, not two, as WT teaches. In this passage, you will also be able to distinguish between the fine shepherd (Christ), and the false or hired shepherd and what the massive difference truly is.

Revelation is given in signs and symbols throughout. Yet the JW self-appointed rulers "held in high esteem" ("God does not show favoritism."Gal 2) choose to say that 144,000 is a literal, specific, a limited number that was mostly fulfilled many centuries ago, leaving a mere "remnant" to rule over the peons below. This teaching conveniently allowed the "higher ups" (unscriptural GB) to claim that they alone were the last few remaining of that "Special Class". This false teaching was not without the purpose of dividing Christ's flock and elevating their so called "Anointed Class" who teach commands of men. @@mamajan99 When I was a JW it always plagued my mind when I would read John Chapter 6 where Jesus said "If you do not feed on my flesh and drink my blood you have no life within yoursleves". I want life within me. What did Jesus mean? Did he mean his words were true food or do we have to partake of bread and wine? If so where do I go to eat this bread and drink this wine? I am at a loss.

@mikekent1490 Our pastor blesses and consecrates the bread and wine according to the Scriptures. We believe it becomes His true body and blood at some point during partaking. That's how I was taught.

Revelation 7:4-8 clearly states who those 144,000 people are. Are the so-called 144,000 JW's claiming to be descends of those tribes? I would expect that each one of the could prove just that. Yet again another deception this cult is forcing on the lost. Christ said in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Christ is the only way to the Father NOT belonging to the JWs! Get out before it costs you eternity.

I remember at the Kingdom Unity District Convention in 1984 there was a Talk entitled "The Increase is On" with teh theme scripture Isa 60:22. The speaker started his talk "The Increase is on. We are witnessing the fulfillment of Isa 60:22 now". That was 40 years ago. Wow the amount of times I have studied Galatians chapter 4 and never read the "The children of the barren woman will be more numerous than the one who has the husband". Yet I must've read it so many times.
As far as Revelation Chapter 14. I began to reason. Revelation 1:1 uses the Greek word Semaino or Signs to show the Revelation was written in "Signs" or Symobolic language. So in Rev Chapter 14 it speaks of a Lamb. A Moutain (Zion) 144,000 etc. But it also speaks of the elders around the throne wearing Golden Crowns. Only the 144,000 can master the song. The elders cannot. Yet the Revelation book claims that the elders seated around the throne , (We learn that there were 24 of them), were actually the 144,000 in the heavely role as Kings. But how can the 144,000 stand before themselves? If these elders are the 144,000 how come they can't join in this song and don't know it? It's obvious Chapter 14 like all the other Chapters are symbolic or written in signs. It means something else. I remember when the Locusts were the remnant distributing the Kingdom Message and the sting in their tales were the publications they left behind. They've quickly abandoned that nonsense. What troubles me the most is that these teachings were supposedly "Spirit directed from Jehovah himself" His "Guiding of the Faithful and Discreet Slave" yet now they are no longer truth yet they were truth at one time. How can that be? Why does Jehovah teach them an error? Or guide them by the Spirit of the Truth only to be a lie? SOmething doesn't make sense.
That's because the governing body isn't who they claim. They command that their members obey them without question. According to Revelation, the 144,000 are Virginia male Jews from the 12 tribes of Israel, and they don't come on the scene until the great tribulation. So the GB are definitely not the 144,000 like they claim.

I think it was for that convention you mention. It rained torrents, but my deaf friends were protected. Such zeal we had. I only woke up 5 years ago.

The organization admits that the 12 tribes mentioned at Revelation 7:4-8 are not literal, but symbolic…

Since the 12 tribes are admittedly symbolic, then the number of 12,000 for each symbolic tribe has to be admittedly symbolic as well.
The Jehovah’s Witness logic thus falls apart because their conclusion is that the literal number of 144,000 is derived by multiplying admittedly symbolic numbers. It makes no sense.

@@mikekent1490 So let me get this straight, the book is written in signs so all numbers given within it are just signs and nothing is literal? So the "four living creatures" (Re 4:6) that sit in proximity to God aren't literally four living creatures? What is the number then? This means that the 7 seals of the scroll that lamb opens are not actually 7 events that are marked to happen? (Re 5:1-5) So neither are the four angels that hold back the winds or the seven angels with the seven bowls or even the seven trumpets for that matter. I mean, the numbers are symbolic and they could mean anything. That must also mean that Satan will not actually be bound for 1,000 years but some other random conglomerate of years that God just failed to inform us of....got it.
Can you see some kind of failing to your logic? It's the same stupid reasoning that makes that ridiculous 1914 JW prophecy not work. "3 1/2 times" means 3 1/2 years in Daniel 7:25 and 12:7 but "7 times" somehow works itself out to 2,520 years in Daniel 4:23? So why does the definition of "times" change in the same book? And this is my point, of you say that number given in this book is symbolic, then ALL the numbers in this book are symbolic. You can't just pick a number and give it another value, or in this case NO value, just because you can't explain it.
When Revelation 7 mentions the 144,00, the "great crowd" that comes after them have no specific number. But you would say that this group, the very specific 144,000, their number in particular is just symbolic of something nobody knows. Then why give them a number at all? I guess God is just too obtuse to understand what He Himself wrote. I mean, everywhere else in the bible God goes into specificity when He wants to provide numerical values for things and He gets rather unclear and obscure when He writes a blanket value that has no reason for specificity, i.e., 10 Plagues vs "about 600,000 men and a vast mixed company". (Ex 12:37-38)
The number 144,000 is too specific. Revelations mentions a very specific number of 12,000 coming out of twelve tribes. Now the tribes themselves are symbolic, that is obvious, as God no longer has a covenant with the Jews and the tribes are missing a few names from the original 12 tribes. So the tribes can be symbolic but the number is still too specific. Case in point, the scroll with seven seals was given to the "Lamb of God" who is the "lion of the tribe of Judah" and the "root of David"; all symbols and sign that point to one SPECIFIC person.
Sometimes I wonder how well do Jehovah's Witnesses listen to the Scriptures. Often forgetting about the context. Ah, yes, cherry picking the Scriptures to support their own ideas and confirming others to accept it as truth. Jehovah's Witnesses needs to pay more attention to what the Scriptures are teaching them. Get away from the ideas and interpretations of men. Let the Scriptures be your guide.

(Rev.1:1) The language of God and Christ is at all times spiritual, which means that only those who dwell in the Spirit can understand it. There is only one salvation and one hope, so that means that WT has deceived millions of people since the 1870’s to reject Christ. The words of Christ from Matt.7:21-23 apply to JW’s and many other Christians in churchianity. There is only salvation in Christ, definitely not in man, or even 11 men in NY.(Ps.146:3) Imagine the shock on judgement day when WT and Jehovah’s Witnesses have to explain to Christ how and why they rejected Him. From that time forward, it is God’s plan to gather believers from each generation until today, and up until God says that He has enough. When is that? Only He knows. If you read John 10:1-21 you will get the picture that Christ is gathering His sheep together in this way, into one flock, not two, as WT teaches. In this passage, you will also be able to distinguish between the fine shepherd (Christ), and the false or hired shepherd and what the massive difference truly is.

Sorry but...Why do "Gifts cease"? 1 Cor. 13:8 Because the gifts are the sign of anointing with Holy Spirit. So if you don't have a gift which is obtained by the Apostles laying on of hands, you"re not anointed. Yeshua comes to "gather the things in the Heavens". A limited number filled at the death of the Apostles. Why don't you Know/Gnosis this? "Whoever walks in the darkness does not know where he is going".
