      i added the winch when i bought the bike. it was originally frame mounted below the front grill before i did the bumper. when i purchased the bumper, the Polaris winch was a direct bolt on to the 1000 bumper

    Thank you and have a great day

    • @GHOSTMAATVs
      @GHOSTMAATVs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The pinion plate is what hols the front pinion gear in the front differential. The one from the factory is very weak. Custom Moto Quad makes a heavy duty billet pinion plate that is a direct replacement.

    What are these things like on the trails ?

    • @GHOSTMAATVs
      @GHOSTMAATVs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not too bad, just need to upgrade your suspension. If you do t they are really hard on the back. The factory shocks have next to no travel and are almost always on the bump stops.

    • @EC_ATV_Outdoors
      @EC_ATV_Outdoors 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have stock shocks, did a winter run that was 240km, honestly, it was 100% fine until one 2-3km stretch of brutal fire road @ 80kmh with a million pot holes, then it sucked real bad. But even a trail machine with no power steering would have sucked for that section.

    • @GHOSTMAATVs
      @GHOSTMAATVs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I came from a Honda Rancher with IRS, thing was like riding a lazy boy down the trail. Never felt anything so, this Highlifter was like a lumber wagon compared to it. Adding Scrambler shocks made it so much more comfy.

    • @EC_ATV_Outdoors
      @EC_ATV_Outdoors 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GHOSTMAATVs I also have an AC 700 XT, which is a Cadillac. I've also had a KQ 750 which was fine on bias tires, not fantastic, but good. I put radials on it and that was way worse than a stock HL. I ended up only using the radials for plowing because little bumps on mild trail were brutal on the arms. They also made too grippy. If you moved the bars a little at speed you'd almost do a 90 degree instantly. Id buy a KQ again, just never radials.
      I'd like the scrambler shocks, but is the lift going to compromise the axles? I don't have spare cash for broken axles.

    • @GHOSTMAATVs
      @GHOSTMAATVs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EC_ATV_Outdoors it doesn't compromise your axles at all, at least mine it didn't. Some say they get binding, but they are allowing their front suspension to fully extend on a regular basis with water wheelies and jumps. You can remedy this with a set of limit straps which are very cheap.

    • @GHOSTMAATVs
      @GHOSTMAATVs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      850 is plenty. It's like 7 horsepower less than the 1000. The price difference here was around $5000, so it just wasn't worth it. With doing the lift, rims, exhaust, halos, lightbar, shocks, from and rear bumpers I still am thousands less than if I would have bought the 1000. If I want power steering, I can buy a lot for that for around $600
