Following on from my intro to Half frame cameras here is Part 1 of my attempt at getting this half broken Olympus EES-2 Half Frame camera to take some decent photos. I was almost there. Some shots turned out ok and a little adjustment with Luminar Neo and PL5 got me over the line. Shooting at 1/40 speed the entire roll of film was a challenge and had to continually think of exposure so much that my mind melted and I forgot the basics of the exposure triangle but redeemed myself in the end. Now as for that double exposure.. Jerry reckons it was me who did it but I reckon it was my dumbass sister... LOL... In the end it was the best shot of the day. I've been lucky like that with double exposures. Even with my Holga 120 camera I got a cracker of a double exposure... fluked them all.
I struggled to get through the roll of 24 film and coming up with ideas was not easy. Would it have been a more pleasant experience if the stupid camera worked 100%? -Hell yes... Would I do it again?.. Probably not
I learnt a lot actually and it got my creative juices flowing trying to come up with ideas of duality or contrast. Stick around for Part 2 and maybe even Part 3 and 4... as I filmed a lot on this project. Some good ideas and some dumb ones too... its all fun.
Luminar Neo saved the day for me again. Use my coupon code "ROBDIDO" for 10% off

Very good Roberto, I enjoyed that. It looked like a lot of fun too. The portraits came out well, considering that the camera is 'broken'.
    Feet and inches rule!

It was fun and frustrating and jogged the memory on the exposure triangle 😆... I've been eating subway sandwiches to get used to a foot haha

That was very enjoyable to watch Rob. Last year I bought a TTArtisan Exposure meter for about £38 gbp, a very use clip on for film cameras that don’t have functioning meters.
In the UK our road signs are all imperial measurements feet, yards, miles etc but our hardware stores are metric measurements!

Yeah the meters are handy. I went from sunny to shaded area and it' helps a lot. Lol I like feet for photography.. just found out why all rulers are 30cm 😆 haha

Jerry said, " I have paws not a foot."

I had to paws and think when converting metric.. 😆

    Brilliant photos 📸
My fav was the accidental triple exposure on one frame, how did that happen?

haha.. i got no idea.. i actually thought it was the photo after that I forgot to wind up... but then how did it recock the shutter?... must have been a lucky omen

That’s right! Feet is superior 😊

Haha.. I'm starting to see the everyday practicality of the imperial way of thinking 😆

Yeah the metric system is great, if you're a robot.

As always I very much enjoyed this Roberto. On the "broken" selenium meter: It may very well not be broken . Apparently if they are not exposed to light constantly they very seldom die. I had the same problem with my Trips 35 and all I needed to do was lubricate the needle that adjusts the exposure. It may also be some corroded wiring. There are some good videos on the matter on TH-cam, like th-cam.com/video/jJr4jixjGYA/w-d-xo.html

Thanks. I've watched him before. I opened my working om1 to clean it and broke the meter... Lol.. my dexterity and patience are thin.. thimble fingers. Shooting at 1/40 was a pain but good training
