Series 50/B400R6/MAN axles are the best powertrain for the New Flyer D40LFs. Glad LBT still has some 9700s and 9800s remaining, while SMBBB retired the entire D40LF fleet in 2014.

Well now both the 9700s and 9800s series D40LF's are now retired. They left the active fleet in the summer of 2018
