Yes, at resonance the nut goes up and if you reduce the frequency below resonance the nut goes down. Also the nut speeds up suddenly when it is half way up the bolt. I made this video for a grade 12 physics teacher who is going to cover those questions. Didn't do this kind of stuff when I went to school.
On TH-cam there's a lot of reversed video fakery. You should put a water fountain behind it or something and then show how you can make the nut go in either direction.
