Great video. I was fortunate to take a ride on Fire in the Hole this season with my dad. It was the first rollercoaster he had ever ridden, which was during its opening year back in the 60's. We both enjoyed it a great deal, and he announced after the ride that it would be his last rollercoaster (he's 68). Although I was intially disheartened by the announcement that SDC is retiring the attraction, I'm eager for its spiritual successor "2.0".
Don't forget the Greedy Brothers boat ride, a companion ride to Rube Rubens diving bell. The Greedy bros took you on a boat ride on the lake over the flooded mine looking for silver. It was replaced by the Lost River and Fireman's landing
I rode the Diving Bell as a child and it was, by far, one of the most memorable amusement park rides I have ever ridden. I still have such vivid and fond memories of it. I wish that a recording of the ride existed somewhere, but handheld videorecorders were rare at the time of this ride. I believe I read somewhere that Disney Imagineers helped build the attraction and that it was one of the most technologically advanced and expensive rides of it's time. I also loved Buzzsaw Falls. It was so unique but almost every time I visited the park it was broken down and closed for maintenance.
Fire in the Hole was my first "dark ride" as a kid and definitely captured my imagination. I remember going on a day that went from sunny to pouring rain, and every other ride was closed except Fire in the Hole. We rode that one about a thousand times that day.

Tbh, pre-2013 SDC was the best. It was in its absolute prime. The waterboggan was my favorite.

The date of closing on the Stagecoach is a little off. The park opened in 1960 and I road the stagecoach in 1975.
I rode Fire in the Hole for the last time 2 days ago, the day before my birthday and it broke my heart. I’ve been riding it my entire life.
I was there in '71 and remember going on the Jim Owens Boat Ride. Too bad it's gone.
